I’m probably a bit biased with Geelong
Anywhere from 4th to 13th is so up in the air atm

  12. Might I ask why people think Eagles will have a poor year this year?
    2nd easiest fixture
    Fully fit Nic nat
    Finally understanding coaches style
Gun new recruits set to play straight away

I’m struggling to understand why people think think Eagles will have a bad year, let’s not forget they would have been playing finals if Tigers had lost to Sydney,
And anyone that was judging it based on nab challenge form, that is just plain stupid, because we still haven’t played our full strength side once this year
Oh and just from a passionate Eagles supporter, dean cox became a liability last year, he was seriously no good, so anyone thinking that losing cox will make us worse, think again, cox was just holding lycett, and Nic nat back, I rejoiced the day he retired, absolute legend, but played a year too long

  13. For me the Eagles lack midfield depth and I couldn’t name too many good users of the ball by foot. Club champions in Cox and Glass have retired and yr B&F from last year is out for the season. If the Eagles are to improve they need big years from the likes of Wellingham, Masten, Gaff etc (all have been very disappointing from my point of view). A fully fit Nic Nat can certainly make a difference, but not change the whole teams fortunes around. You have a contested ball beast in Priddis but apart from him not too many others stand out (hopefully scooter can help in this area). I could compare your above points with Brisbane…
    Average draw
    Fully fit Martin and Leuy
    Finally understanding the coaches style
Gun recruits set to play strait away (Beams and Bundy!)
I think teams such as Brisbane, WC will be fighting for mid range spots on the ladder

  14. I’m not gonna lie, though I disagree with some of his points, I do believe some of them are valid

Though I am taking nothing go away from dean cox, who is an absolute legend of the game, his final year won’t be one that he will want to remember, I watched him when he played a couple games last year, and he was really struggling to run out matches.

Secondly, from what I have seen, Tom Lamb, Jackson Nelson and even Liam Duggan will be future stars of the game, (though I doubt that all three will stay at wce) and Tom lamb especially could be right to play straight away,

And of course the Nic Nat debate, I’ll stand by the big man, if there was an award for most improved at the end of 2015 it will be him, I crap you not, however, I don’t think you can use that as a reason for your team to rise up the ladder, he is only one player, and let’s be honest he is not Gary Ablett, he’s just a ruckman.

I did an analysis as part of my preseason research as to who has the youngest squad, and the Eagles are younger than most people think, I think they were the 6th youngest list or something.
anyway to sum it all up, I can see were Barry is coming from, but I think he is dreaming a little, I can’t see the Eagles going up the ladder, but at the same time, I can’t see them finishing any lower than last year, so some of the prediction of 13 and even 15 are a little far fetched. Give him a break, he does go for eagles after all, u gotta feel sorry for him
