  1. I’d like to see the Pies get May but I’m not sure how they’d do it. Realistically I could see us getting Hombsch off Port but we’d have to trade our first pick (17 I think) which is way overs. Honestly I just want some decent key defenders, someone please help me.

  2. Timing is everything when negotiating contracts, gaff ,sheil and polec aren’t absolute top liners but they are being chased as if they are.

  3. Bombers strangely quiet but despite Sydney denying it, the last two taxis i was in, both said Parker to bombers…..must be true !!!!! In any event, it looks like Swans are cooked for some time with Buddy rear end deal. That has really worked….not !!

        1. By all accounts Dodoro is a bit of a knob. If he’s not careful he could end up annoying GWS so much that they end up sending Shiel to Carlton anyway.

We were also always going to get Fasolo, with or without Shiel.

          1. if blues throw the kitchen sink at shiel, 300k extra, private jets, and he still says no….knob or not dodoro, GWS arent “sending” shiel to blues. He’d rather stat at gws….so would I.

    1. Not sure if we need him but boy would it be good to have him. A midfield with Grundy, Pendles, Sidey, Treloar and Beams with de Goey, Varcoe, Wells, Adams, Sier and Crisp rotating through as well… arrousing

    2. Oh Braydon, why must you do this to us (and yourself!)?

You were sick of being at a club where you were stuck behind Goldstein, so you’ve moved to a club where you’re stuck behind Gawn.

I hope for your sake that the Demons have promised to play you regularly alongside Max, although if this is the case, we can all put a line through Gawn for SuperCoach in 2019.

    1. Mate if I’d known he was available that cheaply I’d have pounced myself.

Still, I have to hand it to the Hawks’ list managers – they always seem to get players in for below (often well below) their real trade value.

  7. Hogan and Lobb are likely to be Dockers, May a Demon, and Beams a Magpie later on today.

Shiel and Kelly deals look like they might to go down to the wire.

Carlton is also apparently looking very seriously at Nic Newman. I’ve also seen Finlayson’s name mentioned earlier in the trade period; I’m not sure whether or not we are still interested.

  8. Shiel deal in serious doubt. Reports that Dodoro has stormed out. GWS has confirmed they are talking to Carlton. Also confirmed they have the cap space to keep him with Scully and Lobb gone.

He’ll probably still end up as a Bomber, but it’s not guaranteed. Watch this space.

    1. SOS has reportedly been on the phone to GWS for the last two days. Is currently in the negotiation room, and reportedly looked very smug when walked in. It might just be the fact that he’s been able to make Essendon’s life miserable, but there is a real sense from those there that he’s up to something.

  9. Fremantle reportedly ready to swoop on Kelly. Will be able to satisfy Geelong in a trade; the question is can they convince Kelly to agree to it?

    1. Let’s hope not.
If Kelly stays and plays out his contract. What’s the process next year? Can he up and leave and Geelong miss out?

      1. Either they trade him, in which case they have much less leverage than this year, or they don’t, in which case he would have to go to the draft. Geelong would get nothing, but Kelly would have no real control over where he went.

  10. Bulldogs, Collingwood, and Brisbane reportedly working on a three-way deal to send Beams and Jordan Roughead to the Pies, and Marcus Adams to the Lions.

  11. Shiel is a Bomber. Essendon has given GWS pick #9 plus 2019 first round pick, gets back Shiel and GWS’ 2019 second round pick.

    1. West Coast offered picks #20 and #22, plus next year’s second-round pick; Geelong wanted that last part to be the Eagles’ future first round pick. Talks broke down in the last couple of minutes.
