  1. Bit disappointing we don’t get to see a couple of popular potential cash cows in the two Macs, Henry and Adam. They showed a bit last week even though it was mostly under 23’s. All the rooks are there for Port and all could be good value.

    1. Keep a close eye on W Drew. Was regarded as Port’s best player last week in an under 23 trial match against the crows amassing roughly 20+ disposals and 3 goals. Has not played an AFL game in 2 years on Port’s list and was hampered by a heel injury last year. Also 190cm and 85kg so could possibly play inside mid when he receives his opportunity.

  2. Watching on Fox. Zac Butters, only 18, what a gun. Every bit of Chris Judd. Went out, got strapped and back in. One to watch..

    1. The young Western Jets recruit Butters might be hard to slot in a Mid rookie spot @$157,800 but has racked 14 disposals in the 1st half. He could be a sneaky POD if named Round 1 as he has showed plenty of signs of his potential and has a bit of class about him.

  3. Rory Sloane. Fantastic start. I’m a Port supporter by the way. Might be recapturing his form from the year before last

  4. Going off the first quarter Laird is going to do what Laird does best. Rack up the ball no matter what. Think ill have to get him back in. Safe as houses.

Adelaide definitely want the ball in the hands of Laird, Smith and Milera.

    1. Just play 5 Geelong players in your team too. Different byes and it takes up a third of the team. Find a team in the Rd 12 bye and fill up with them and then find some misfits. You should be set!

  5. Butters (14) and Drew (9) leading possession getters from Port rooks. Rozee and Duursma only 8 between them at this stage. Only 4 tackles between the four however??

  6. Any pattern with adelaide kick ins ? Is it likely to have a negative affect on lairds scoring ?

      1. Sad to see Rockliff lost in that PA midfield. A shadow of his old self . Not playing badly but just not effective. It is only one JLT but stay away from him when you can get B. Crouch, D. Sheed at the same price…I reckon.

  7. Not based on todays game but laird was my d1 last year and is again this year, racks em up like a midfielder.

  9. So many good 500-600k midfield options. Steele, Sloane, Crouch, Martin, Merret, Duncan, Yeo.
Feel like people are going so heavy in the midfield with 600k+ options and ignoring the value. I currently have Fyfe, Cripps and Neale but feel i might even drop Neale to get another value pick.

Adelaide are going to be massive this year and get back to their 2017 best imo and will push top 4.

    1. Geez far from convinced any of those are going 110+ & picking blokes who are 500-600K in hopes they fill your M7-8 spots is fraught with danger, they are definitely sticking their hands up to picked to be fair.

      1. Steele from round 15 last year – 111.7 average.
Matt Crouch averaged 110 in 2017 and averaged 109.8 from round 15 last year.
        Martin averaged 119 in 2017
Merret averaged 111.5 in 2016, 109.2 in 2017 and from round 14 last year averaged 113.1
Duncan has averaged 109.8 in 2017 and 106.2 last year and will hold if not improve around that range.

I will have top disagree and see i don’t see much danger here. Yes they won’t push the 120’s like Cripps, Fyfe, Kelly, Oliver, Macrae but can you ignore their value at 50-100k cheaper? Still think you need 1 or 2 of the 600k+ players but selecting more and ignoring the value on hand just seems stupid to me.
