2UP: Hately vs Hind

Written by Schwarzwalder on June 26 2019

For those of us that went early on Logue (103 last week……aaahhh thank you!), our best downgrade options this week seem to be Hately (GWS) or Hind (STK).

Hately has been named on a number of occasions, only to be relegated to an emergency to the disgust of many SuperCoaches.

Hind had wraps on him over the pre-season and has finally worked his way into the Seniors.

Which of these young fellas is coming into your side this week?

Which rookie on the bubble seems better for cash generation & job security?

  1. Hind has the job security but nowhere near the cash flow potential of Hateley. You got plenty of trades bring him in and wait and see how many games he has left. If you’re tight on trades hind seems to have a much better security but I worry about total points, yes he did well on the weekend but needed 3 goals for that score. I can’t see that happening week in week out so it’s a case by case decision but I’ve already had Hateley for 6 rounds so I’m not stressed!

Gl to you all jumping on him it’s a roller coaster!

  2. Logue is a definite for me this week.
I would bring in both Hind and Hately if I could.
I know Hinds job security is better, but I just can’t help be tempted with Hately.

    Thinking ….
    Duursma > Logue
    Answerth > Hately

  3. Logue is a realistic option as bench cover the other two are downgrades , think it would be very optimistic to rely on them for cover till end of season.

  4. is it worth trading in Hately for Oscar Baker, not sure if he has made enough money to trade him yet, still have 9 trades after this week

    1. I’m considering this also…

O Baker will only make another 20-30k over the next few weeks. A downgrade to Hately nets about 80K which is about how much he’ll appreciate in value after this week’s game.

R5: Hately came in for Cal Ward.
      R6: Essentially omitted for Greene.
R7: In again with Kelly & Whitfield out.
R8: Gone again with Kelly back in.

Hately has pretty much been emerg ever since. He was even overlooked for selection when Whitfield went out of the team in R12.

Could it be that he’s seen as a fill-in for an inside midfielder (in this case, DeBoer, but previously Ward & Kelly) rather than a Whitfield-type? If so, job security should be alright with DeBoer out for 8 weeks & no other bonafide midfielders returning from injury or pushing for selection.

      Hmmm… food for thought…

      1. this is my thoughts (hopes?) – that said … It’s GWS and WTFK’s with them and their coach??!!! Can’t trust anything they say or do it seems …

That said, in his two games thus far, he has “looked the goods” … more so than Hind … hmmmmm

  5. If you have him take the cash injection , you have waited for about 7 weeks,if you don’t have him go ahead and use a trade.

  6. This is my dilemma this week.

    TU: Hind, Sloane

    TD: Hately, M.Crouch

    (Can’t do Hately, Sloane)

  7. My delemma is having Answerth stuck in the backs and no real mids worth downgrading.

Lloyd, Williams, Stewart, Andrews, Sicily (Logue, Answerth)

Neale, Fyfe, Cogs, Macrae, Cripps, BCrouch, Rocky, Bewley (Clarke, Hayes, Scott)

Rucks and fwds complete, with NO cover.

8 trades remain8ng, going for cashleague.

I can just afford Hayes to Sloane. Think I’ll keep Rocky. Do I bring in Naish for Answerth to top up my bank, (TU)
Or trade Scott to Hind? (TD)

Or comment with any other ideas to improve my basket case of a side?

  8. I currently cant decide between to bring in Logue or Hately. Logue’s scoring in the last two weeks have been much higher than his career average and I am unaware if this is due to a role change or if his scoring will decrease. Hately however has a very shaky JS and with him as my M8 i would hope he can play at least for 2 weeks. I am certainly trading in Sloane for Butters this week leaving two rookies left to field. If i bring in Hately then he will be M8 and Hore will be D6, who i can upgrade next week. If i bring in Logue he will be D6 and Bewley/Setterfield M8.

TU: Setterfield & Butters –> Hately & Sloane (51k remaining)
TD: Hore & Butters –> Logue & Sloane (193k remaining)
I will have 9 trades left after this round
Thoughts would be very appreciated 🙂

  9. Already have Hind but tempted to bring Hately in..

    Thinking:

    Out: Clark/ Burgess via ddp

    In: ZWilliams or Ryan/Hately

Stuck on who between Ryan or Williams tho

    Current backs:

    Laird/Hurn/Sicily/Lloyd/Logue/Clark
    Answerth/Gardiner

    9 trades left after this

Or I can just go Clark/ ZWilliams not enough for Ryan and pass on Hately

    Comments appreciated
