 Riley Knight  Achilles  1-2 weeks
 Wayne Milera  Foot  8-9 weeks
 Tyson Stengle  Suspension  2 games
 Patrick Wilson  Shoulder  TBC
Updated: Monday, June 22

Early prognosis

Atkins suffered a ‘high-grade’ AC joint injury in his shoulder in the Crows’ loss to Gold Coast on Sunday and sat out the second half. The Crows have a relatively fit list, which is adding an extra layer of concern to their early-season horrors. – Callum Twomey

Brisbane Lions

PLAYER INJURY ESTIMATED RETURN
 Marcus Adams  Foot  2-3 weeks
 Stefan Martin  Hamstring  Test
 Dayne Zorko  Achilles soreness  Test
 Updated: Tuesday, June 23

Early prognosis

Zorko will need to prove his fitness this week after he was a late withdrawal against the Eagles. The Lions are hopeful Martin’s slight left hamstring strain won’t keep him sidelined for long, but he’ll also need to complete main training in order to tackle the Crows. Adams remains a couple of weeks off. – Mitch Cleary

Carlton

PLAYER INJURY ESTIMATED RETURN
 Charlie Curnow  Knee  Season
 Paddy Dow  Knee  1-2 weeks
 Zac Fisher  Ankle  Test
 Brodie Kemp  Knee  Season
 Matthew Kreuzer  Foot  7-9 weeks
 Caleb Marchbank  Knee  1-3 weeks
 Nic Newman  Knee  Season
 Updated: Tuesday, June 23

Early prognosis

The Blues have no new injury concerns stemming from Saturday night’s victory over the Cats. They’d like to give Fisher a scratch match before he’s available for senior selection, so don’t expect him for another week, while Dow and Marchbank are still a while away. Tom De Koning played last week’s scratch match having recovered from an ankle problem and is now available. – Riley Beveridge

Collingwood

PLAYER INJURY ESTIMATED RETURN

 Levi Greenwood  Knee  1-3 weeks
 Tom Langdon  Knee  Indefinite
 Ben Reid  Calf  1-3 weeks

Updated: Tuesday, June 23

Early prognosis

The Pies could play it safe with Treloar, who got through a scratch match last weekend but is recovering from a series of troublesome soft tissue injuries. Mason Cox also played in that scratch match after dealing with a knee problem and should be available for senior selection. In more good news, veterans Greenwood and Reid are closing in on returns from respective long-term injury layoffs.. – Riley Beveridge

 Kobe Mutch  Wrist  3-4 weeks
Updated: Monday, June 22

Early prognosis

The Bombers players and staff remain in isolation after McKenna‘s positive COVID-19 test. Fantasia could be available after his quad strain for this week’s clash with Carlton if the game proceeds, but Heppell will miss most of the season after breaking his ankle last week in a training mishap. – Callum Twomey

Early prognosis

The pleasing news out of Freo is Darcy‘s quick recovery from the knee injury sustained in round two. He is set to train on Thursday and will be a test for the clash against Gold Coast. Hill was named to make his return last weekend before being a late out with a corked calf. The veteran should be available for selection if he gets through training. Acres‘ recovery has been slightly slower than expected and he remains a week away. Sturt‘s nasty ankle roll against the Power will keep him out for around a month.– Chris Correia

Geelong Cats

PLAYER INJURY ESTIMATED RETURN
 Oscar Brownless  Shoulder  TBC
 Luke Dahlhaus  Concussion  Test
 Josh Jenkins  Back  Test
 Sam Menegola  Back  Test
 Stefan Okunbor  Achilles  Indefinite
 Brandan Parfitt  Hamstring  Available
 Rhys Stanley  Knee  TBC
 Jake Tarca  Quad  TBC
Updated: Tuesday, June 23

Early prognosis

Scans showed Stanley had suffered a medial ligament sprain, with the Cats working out the next course of action. He appears unlikely to face Max Gawn and the Demons. The eight-day break will assist Dahlhaus’ hopes after he was ruled out of the second half against Carlton due to concussion. Parfitt’s hamstring soreness meant he was a late withdrawal and he’ll push his case for a recall at main training on Thursday. Menegola copped a knock to his back against the Blues and will be monitored. Second-year youngsters Brownless and Tarca are also both dealing with setbacks. Nakia Cockatoo played a large chunk of last week’s scratch match and will build continue to his fitness base. – Mitch Cleary

Updated: Monday, June 22

Early prognosis

The Giants are sweating on some big names to be ready for this Friday night’s crunch clash with Collingwood. KellyGreene and Whitfield will all need to get through tests before facing the Magpies at Giants Stadium, with Kelly and Greene missing last week’s loss to the Bulldogs and Whitfield missing most of the game after his head knock. – Callum Twomey

 Dan Howe  Foot  Indefinite
 Jarman Impey  Knee  2-4 weeks

Updated: Tuesday, June 23

Early prognosis

Puopolo was a late withdrawal from the Hawks’ round three game against Richmond after reporting calf soreness from the previous day’s training session. Ricky Henderson also hurt himself and didn’t finish the match. Impey is edging closer to a return from his knee reconstruction, while Howe is making progress as well but is further away. Category B rookie Jiath might be available to play in a scratch match. – Marc McGowan

Melbourne

 Harry Petty  Groin  Indefinite

 Aaron Nietschke  Knee  Season
Updated: Tuesday, June 23

Early prognosis

Hore‘s hard-luck season continued when he tore a quadriceps tendon in a gym accident, at a time he was still recovering from a fractured toe. He will now undergo surgery, as will Petty, who sought advice from a Sydney specialist on his long-term groin problem. The Demons came through unscathed from their impromptu intraclub game at the MCG on Sunday. – Marc McGowan

 Dom Tyson  Calf  Test
Ed Vickers-Willis  Turf toe  2-3 weeks
Updated: Tuesday, June 23

Early prognosis

Cunnington was unable to play last week because of a sore back, but should be right to return for Sunday’s Hawks clash. Daw is nearing a return from his pectoral muscle tear, with his strength measures almost back to normal. LarkeyTurner and Vickers-Willis have been tracking similarly for weeks, while Tyson should be good to go after taking it easy in the past week. Davies-Uniacke also continues to make progress and hopes to rejoin the main training group soon. – Marc McGowan

 Trent Burgoyne  Leg  1-2 weeks
 Ryan Burton  Knee  2-3 weeks
 Tobin Cox  Quad  1 week
 Willem Drew  Foot  4-6 weeks
 Xavier Duursma  Hamstring  3-4 weeks
Updated: Tuesday, June 23

Early prognosis

The Power suffered a big blow last weekend when they lost impressive youngster Duursma, who may miss up to a month due to a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, Burton is still a couple of weeks away from returning from a sprained knee. However, Mitch Georgiades was an emergency last week after recovering from a calf problem and will be available for senior selection this week. – Riley Beveridge

Richmond

PLAYER INJURY ESTIMATED RETURN
 Noah Cumberland  ACL  Season
 Will Martyn  Foot  2-4 weeks
 Dustin Martin  Ribs  Test
 Bigoa Nyuon  Shoulder  3-5 weeks
Updated: Monday, June 22

Early prognosis

All eyes will be on Martin this week after the superstar missed last week’s loss to Hawthorn with bruised ribs. Given the injury was on the minor end, expect the Brownlow medallist to return for Saturday’s clash with the Saints. Youngsters Martyn and Nyuon picked up injuries in the scratch match against Pies, while Cumberland will miss the entire season after rupturing his ACL at training in May. – Ben Sutton

 Oscar Clavarino  Hamstring  Test
 Jarryn Geary  Hamstring  Test
 Darragh Joyce  Hamstring  Test
Updated: Tuesday, June 23

Updated: Tuesday, June 23

Early prognosis

The Swans will take a conservative approach with McCartin‘s latest concussion and he won’t face the Bulldogs on Thursday night. McCartin’s brother, Paddy, is sitting out this AFL season after sustaining repeated concussions in his career. However, Naismith, who hasn’t played since round one, could return after ramping up his training at the weekend. Sydney is confident Brand‘s ankle issue isn’t as bad as first expected but he will miss more games. Reid aims to join skills training this week, while Franklin has started running on the AlterG. – Marc McGowan

McGovern was sent for scans after injuring his right ankle in Saturday morning’s scratch match against the Lions. While they showed he had escaped serious damage, the Eagles will need to wait for swelling to dissipate to see how much of main training he can complete. Hutchings has suffered a knee setback which has pushed him back a month. Reid and Cameron both played reduced minutes in the scratch match with the Lions as they build fitness. Jamieson will be hoping to complete scratch match minutes in the near future. – Mitch Cleary

  1. Apologies to Sam Sturt for giving him a nudge in the rookie review – I must have missed his injury. Hope he heals quickly.

Fingers crossed that Whitfield’s ears have stopped ringing.
