AFL Finals

Written by on February 12 2020

Have always found it interesting to look at SC outputs during the Finals Series, when our own season (both SuperCoach and St Kilda’s) is over 😉

Here are a few of the highlights of those who had a consistent Finals Series:

… oh and Brodie GRUNDY averaged a measly 141 SCpts across his 2 games.

Here are those who scored 120+ in single games:

And here are those who scored between 105 and 119:

Does it change/reassure anyone’s thinking on Premo selections for 2020?!

  1. Good article AS, certainly gives you an idea about the players who seem to go alright in the pressure of finals. Reading one of your other posts re Darcy Moore, he could be a sneaky option, along with the poor cousin of Neale – Lyons could also be an alternative so as to spread the cash around your team? Even Taranto put his hand up, especially of GF day when they got a touch up! If anything, you might’ve given us too much to ponder over, top work again though!

  2. Timmy Taranto is awfully tempting everything screams “BREAKOUT” too me.

    Anyone agree?
Tempted to have him at M5/6

    1. Last year was his breakout into being considered a high quality midfielder. 102 average in supercoach was good but he smashed it averaging 112.5 in fantasy.

I love Taranto as an option but id be wary of considering him a “breakout”. I believe its just natural smaller improvements from here with last year his breakout / jump.

Definitely not saying he cant go 110+ as im a massive fan of him! But at his price of 555k you would want / need his average to go to that 110 to be anywhere close to top 8 with all the 600k guns who have potential to go 115-130

      1. Agree, and he won’t hurt not having and will maintain a relatively affordable price throughout the season. Upgrade target if warranted.

    2. I remember Callan WARD in pre-season last year saying that Taranto will end up being whatever he wants to be … biggest talent he’s ever seen. Definitely a chance for mine.

      1. I’m awfully tempted only thing is it’s such a star studded midfield with hopper coniglio ward kelly Taranto & Whitfield on a wing Potentially.. so many guns sharing midfield minutes & points

I want my M1-4 as $600k+ but after my M5 to be that Value pick just cant decide who it is.. TKelly, Taranto & one that interests me a lot is Lyons. He exploded post bye was that from Neale taking a tag and freeing him up, a role change possibly or just a purple patch?

  3. IMO Clear our heads guys, remove our clouded hopes and visions and see the big pictures, and please correct me if I’m too pessimistic,

Has J Kelly ever outscored Cogs in the same game that Cogs was 100% fit?

Has Ollie ever had a breakout game when Gawny struggled or was beaten?

There is probably a whole lot of other reasons why players scores have fluctuated during the season(s), Dunkley, Houston, Lipinski…….so just be weary of role play, TOG and ins and outs when getting our hopes up after Marsh.

I used to forget who wasn’t playing when I worked out who looked the best, mind you I did get the original Oliver brakeout correct. (Gloat)

So make sure we have plenty of discussion after the Marsh games to view all angles.

    Cheers Community

    1. Think I’m More interested in Lyons thommo as the tag may very well bounce between Neale & Zorko. Dayne’s so damaging especially to the scoreboard when let off the chain could probably argue even more so than Neale the majority

        1. Yeah his floor is so low he needs to fix that up two 60s, two 70s & a couple 80s app probably when tagged? I love the consistency of gaff & kelly might only help his output

  4. Lyons tempting M5 even though i have 5 ubers already i think he’s real value that extra cash could be spent nicely around the team
