Cow Talk – Round 5

Small or far away – Father Dougal on cows.

This week we go from theory and general stuff and start in player by player. No (well, very few) predictions because I am really bad at predictions. Projections based on math and stats, sure, but If I knew who was going to do well in the future my team would be ranked a lot higher.

To keep the number of players manageable; I’m mostly going to stick to talking about cows, not steers and calves. A steer is a player who is fully grown and can be expected to be kept rather than harvested and just fluctuate around a high level.

First, thank you to Lesley and Weendog who found examples for me. I sadly didn’t see Weendog’s in time to save the data I need to check it, (my bad, I’m sorry,) but I did see Lesley’s in time and it tuns out the data I needed was there to start with.

“Darcy Parish was projected to score 83 and, you guessed it, scored 83.

He was projected to appreciate by 48.8k (which would leave him at 309.2k), I figure that if these projected figures are marginally false come price changes,

Small or Far Away – Father Dougal on Cows

Another week of data, and more frantic fiddling with numbers. I wasted a fair amount of time this week thanks to a missing set of (), but am at least feeling good that I figured the problem out with enough time left to run some useful numbers.

The biggest thing I found was the breakevens from Supercoach do appear to take the money supply expansion price drops into account this season, and while they were not 100% accurate, they were close enough to be useful, at least last week.
