Community TEAM – Rd4

Written by Schwarzwalder on 6:50 pm, April 22 2016

**POST UPDATED 23.4.16 at 9.40am

Due to time constraints, I’ve had to close the polls and finalise the TEAM.  Callan Ward is the replacement for Jade Gresham…….Welcome to the TEAM!  I’ll make sure we target Zorko as next upgrade, such was his popularity.  VC is Ablett & C is Fyfe, we can use Dunkley as our loophole option.

Thank you as always for your input and good luck this weekend, Coaches!!

Last Minute Queries – Rd5

Written by Schwarzwalder on 12:00 pm, April 22 2016

Questions?  Quizzes? Quandaries?  Queries?  Quagmires?  Q & A?  FAQs? Quick answers?

Who should you use as Emergency?  Should you get cover for Stefan Martin? Have you got a late trade lined up?  Pizza or Chinese Take-Away?  Whatever the query, this is the thread to get your answer.  Ask the SCT Community and I’m sure they’ll help out.  Good luck this weekend, Coaches!!

Poll – Rookie Move?

Written by Schwarzwalder on 10:30 am, April 22 2016

As requested by Luke………..

I don’t necessarily condone the trading of the following list of rookies.  Just consider the following scenario:  Your season hasn’t started quite as you would’ve liked.  Your calculated gambles haven’t paid off, that breakout contender is plummeting in price and your current premos are stinking it up.  You want to cut a rookie or two early in order to upgrade to an elite player elsewhere.  Below is a list of Rookies that are currently averaging under 70 points per game.  Which Rookie/s would you trade out first right now?

The Captains Table – Rd5

Written by Schwarzwalder on 8:00 am, April 22 2016

Wowee…….what seemed fairly straight-forward coming into Rd4, proved to be extremely tricky.  Well done if you selected Nat Fyfe as Captain last week despite the promise of a heavy tag from Ben Jacobs.  His 141 would’ve given you a 20pts advantage over opponents with Captain Goldstein, 32pts over Capt. Ablett & 42pts over Capt. Dangerfield.

But enough about last week, I’m sure we all want to put it behind us.  We have a piece of good news regarding Captains for Rd5!  If you have Sam Grimley (ESS) or one of the M.Kings from Melbourne as your loophole options,

Eagling’s SCT Writers League Wrap – R4

The SCT Writers League Wrap Episode IV:  A New Hope

SCT Writers League Round 4, 2016 Average.
SCT Writers League Round 4, 2016 Top Score

1988.55
2091

I think those cold statistics paint a clear picture of what was a disastrous weekend for most Supercoaches, and the SCT Writers League coaches were no exception.   I personally pegged Motts for a 2500 plus score.   473 points isn’t a big difference – only 18.92%.  Pretty decent margin of error if I do say.  But despite Motts’ score, he still acquitted himself rather well compared to some of the other coaches.

Table For Two – Rd5

Written by Schwarzwalder on 2:00 pm, April 21 2016

During the pre-season, ‘Thommo’s 2-UP’ was a wildly popular thread on SCT.  Seeing as our Thumbs Function is working (beautifully!) again, we’ll open it up to you, the SCT Community.

Which two players are trying to force a way into your side?  Which two players can you not seperate right now?  Type their names into the comments below and the SCT Community will point you in the right direction with the Thumbs UP / DOWN.

Just a few things to keep in mind before posting:

**  We already ran a poll about the Byrnes Boys as downgrade options on Monday –

Burning Question – Rd5

Written by Schwarzwalder on 11:30 am, April 21 2016

CUT AND RUN??

There were a number of mid-pricers that caught our eye during the NAB Challenge.  A few (if not most) are not performing as we would’ve hoped.  I’ve seen the following names pop up on the site this week, asking whether to TRADE or HOLD.  Those guys are Tommy Sheridan (FREO), Jesse Lonergan (GCS) & Nick Graham (CARL).  Some were already mentioned earlier in the ‘Movers & Shakers’ write-up.  Please advise your fellow SCT Coaches whether to keep them a little longer or simply move them on in the polls below.

Movers & Shakers – Rd4

Written by Schwarzwalder on 9:00 am, April 21 2016

In the tradition of Motts’ Movers, ‘Movers & Shakers’ looks at those players making a big impact (or no impact) over a short amount of time.  Things are slowly starting to take shape and we’re getting a better idea of the premos and pretenders.   This weeks Movers & Shakers are (Player, Club, Current Price, 3-Round Average):

DEFENDERS

Rory Laird (ADE, $516 300, 104.3) – Has some decent consistency about him for a premium defender, having not gone under 90 in his four games to date.  Most Coaches thought Adelaide had a tough opening fixture but it turns out that Port &

Dumb & Dumber – Rd4

Written by Schwarzwalder on 10:00 am, April 20 2016

Supercoach is the greatest fantasy game on Earth.  It can also be the most frustrating 😉

I’ve said it many times……hindsight is a wonderful thing.  It’s near-impossible to get everything right in this great game of ours.  But………….how many times have you regretted one of your ‘clever’ decisions?  How often does your ‘new premium’ simply go missing?  Why do your well-researched ‘breakout’ candidates never amount to much?  And why the hell did I mess with my side at the last minute (again!)??

The season is only four weeks old and the Supercoaches are already getting restless.
