Anzac Day 2015……..that’s the only reason we still remember this bloke in regards to Supercoach. It’s the biggest game of the Home & Away Fixture…..we were all watching……. yes, it was an impressive performance.
Seedsman won the Anzac Medal on the day after racking up 25 kicks, six handballs and a goal running off half-back. That added up to a lazy 137 SC pts and we all thought there’d be more to come. But there wasn’t……….
The 137 performance is Seedsman’s 2nd best in terms of Supercoach (bettered by a 145 against Brisbane in 2013) and just his 6th ton in 69 games. The reality is that Seedsman needs a lot of space & his contested ball count is very low which really hurts his chances of becoming SC-relevant.
Injury and form issues have plagued his career at Collingwood and Adelaide. Ironically, it might be a teammates’ injury issue that gives Seedsman a fighting chance this year. With Brodie Smith out for the year (and Jake Lever traded to Melbourne), there is a spot up-for-grabs in the back half. I’ll be watching the JLT Series closely to see who fills the hole there (Gibbs? Cheney? Doedee?) but won’t be holding my breath for Seedsman.
Risk Rating: On a scale of 1-5……1 being safe & 5 being extremely dangerous……Seedsman – Three Higgos! Not even sure if he’s in the Crows’ Best 22 at the moment. He’ll need a spate of injuries just to string a few games together. As for his scoring……who knows?
