Undoubtedly the best rookie of the year (sorry Pods), and in more than 214000 (55%) SC teams, he rose from 111k to 573k finishing on 565k because of his injury game (which was still pretty good). Now we need to find a replacement.
So whist it depends marginally on your cash reserve, you should be able to have almost anyone with a straight trade burning only a few extra dollars.
So excluding Hodge, Goddard and Chapman (who most choose to have in Def or Fwd) here is how I rank my top six Mid replacements, so depending on who you have in your current team, my recommendation is to fill your void with whoever is closest to number 1:
1) Clearly Ablett – 613k, ave 135
2) Swan – 629k, ave 121
3) Montagna – 568k ave 118
4) Judd – 569k, ave 123
5) Selwood – 548k ave 111
6) Dal Santo – 599k, ave 115
Two alternate BARGINS:
1) Watson – 506k, ave 107
2) Hayes – 498k, ave 101
I’m getting Swan as I already have Yablett, who are you gona get?

Have you been under a rock for the last 6 days Big Sexy?, that’s the only thing everyone has been going on about all week long. Anyway I’m going for Gazza, everyone else has him already so now do I.

No Rock PA, but after the teams came out I see a lot of people asking who they should get, so thought I’d try to make options a little more straight forward.

With all due respect, Jobe should not even be on the radar as he has the ability to single handedly lose you a final. See Rd 21 last year when Haselby (yes you read correctly) ran with him and could only manage 54pts with 6 possies.
Anyway, I’m still tossing up between keeping the faith of not having GAJ as a unique and therefore taking Joey or taking the more conservative route. GAJ’s prima donna attitude last Sunday appears to me to be representative of his state of mind with the move.

You don’t much like the little fella, do ya? Either choice has a higher average than Barlow so you’ll be fine either way.

I’d take Jobe ahead of Hayes in a canter….. actually now that my backup ruckman for Hille (Stanley) has been dropped, I seriously considering Jobe to help with Ruck upgrade.

Better cross your fingers if you make the GF and have him – last 3 scores v Bulldogs: 99, 40, 49.

As an Essendon supporter I have made my own rule to never pick an essendon player over 300K. My reasoning is that Essendon are…. Essendon, and they are one of the worst teams in the AFL.

Got Joey for barlow and A Graham for krooz. Fell a couple a bucks short of being able to bring in jolly and considering he s had a couple of games +100 and him not being in alot of teams hopefully Graham pans out

I too see Jolly as an absolute bargain. Over the final 10 weeks (last two plus the next eight) he could end up as the second best performing ruckman behind only Big Sandi.
Also wanted Joey but i’m $600 short.
Going Cross. He’s rather unique, he’s scoring well and he’s unlikely to be rested like Saints, Geelong and possibly Collingwood players across rnds 20-22.

Any reason Swan is 2 places higher than Judd? Virtually the same average but Judd 60 grand cheaper. Is he carrying an injury, or harder draw leading up to the finals? Whats your logic here?

Swan started the year slowly but is now back in full swing. Judd’s almost been suspended a couple of times recently making him a slightly higher risk atm.

Have to choose between Judd and Montagna for Barlow … flip a coin i reckon. Not sure what to do with Mitchell though as i have no coverage on the bench if i don’t trade him. I have enough $ and 6 trades to pick up say J Selwood but not sure if i should cop a donut this week and save a trade … thoughts?

I’m still not sold on a trade for Barlow, so I’ll wait and see which team LeBron chooses in 50 odd minutes and see if that helps.

G’day. First time post, love the site by the way. Been super helpful all year thanks.
My mid GAJ, Selwood, Hodge, Judd, Barlow, Boyd (Martin, Gysberts).
Totally going to trade Barlow -> Montagna.
Also, I’m after a bit of advice. My back line bench is Schmidt & Webberley. Was thinking of cashing in Schmidt for Strijk, but that would leave me with 3 trades for the rest of the year (but with $200000+ just in case). As Schmidt and Webberley don’t get a run too often…good move/bad move?

Look @ Shephard from West Coast and a MPP such as Henderson or P.Davis. I have no idea about the numbers, but you want your bench playing so that you can rely on them in a time of need. If that player is a MPP then you can potentially cover two lines.

Hey SR64, Wecome aboard! There are heaps of different options for you, but I think Strijk is a good option (in my opinon), esp seeing as Webberley is your other bench…. as I find team tend to give the youngsters 3-5 game bursts, so Webberley may get a few more runs if he performs.

All those ego’s on one team …. the Olympics is one thing, but for a whole season?
Celtics and Orlando will still be strong, Bulls will be better than last year, Knicks may surprise if it can snare Parker and that sign-and-trade with the Warriors so nothing is guaranteed for the Heat.
I wonder where Beasley will end up.

We’ll be fine Cam, it’s not like Port would’ve been planning on playing less than 100% before these developments, and, it isn’t that they are going to play any more than 100% now that this has happened.
We’ll win, if we execute our gameplan and skills correctly and don’t get caught up with this situation, or thinking about St. Kilda next week.

Even with a B.C.O you’d have to be a bit worried for an upset PTA win given the history of teams pulling out wins from nowhere when the coach is going.

haha I’m not that worried, just a tiny bit concerned, but im sure we will be up to the game….geez if we lose it might be time for MM to go haha. and Chris, thats what im concerned a bit about, but we will win by 50 I reckon…

Chris, I feel bad for Choco, b/c he is an ex-Collingwood captain and was a very good, tough player for the club. I watched the announcement and it was very emotional for him, but, we’ll be ready.
They’ll be pumped, and will attack it as if it’s a grand final which is a good opportunity for us to execute under pressure.
I wonder if Woosha will be next, and if he’ll last the season.

Be careful what you wish for. If your boys “attack it as if it’s a grand final” then they’ll be in big trouble given your record in those games in the past 50 years.

lol, nice one Deano. Except I never said that Collingwood will attack it like a G/F. I said that Port would.
For the pies, tonight is an opportunity for 4 pts, and to stay in conention for a top 2 berth.

Now onto more pressing matters …. Joey or Chapman?
Chapman; 1 score below 100 in Rd 1, lowest score since 107, av 125 a game, but has missed 4 games close to finals last 3 years running.
Joey; 4 scores below 100, but, 2 of those against Freo, 3 x 150+, soft run home, loves kicking to Rooey

Yeah had them both – glad I took Jimmy over Jizz and Hendo was just a DPP for Stevens but he’s looked pretty promising the last two weeks with his clean handling, work ethic and reading of the play. Have him covering for Browndawg/Gray.

what should i do with ziebell? i have $463,200
1. Trade him for dale thomas this week
or
2. Put him on the bench for this week, jaensch will cover for him. Then next week pick up didak for him, in the hope that didaks price drops to 463,200 or lower.
Didaks breakeven is 118 do you think his price will drop enough for me to pick him up next week or should i just go for daisy whos consistently scoring 80-99 with the odd ton every now and again
Which option would you go for 1 or 2?
