Ben's Dilemma

Written by Motts on June 4 2010

Ben’s had enough of the “emotional rollercoaster” these 2 subject him to every week and wants to ship one of them off. Which one would you advise him to trade?

Who do you rate as the Top6 Defenders of 2016? (six selections)

  1. Thanks for setting this up Motts!
Like i said, these guys are killing me! Going swap one of them out for Adam Goodes, just trying to decide which one. Hopefully the coaches on your site have some advice for me.

  2. Some thoughts on why would be great too. I have a massive grudge match this week againast a very evenly matched opponent.

So far it looks like Cyril may get cut.

    1. Motts, you left off the option to keep both….

Ben, as they are both under-achievers… I would still be confident there would be someone else I would upgrade in your team first….. at least these guys have potential… if the rest of your team is full of superstars, then I’d get rid of OP Cyril…. but I didn’t vote.

      1. Thanks for the thoughts. The aim is to get Goodes in, and i was thinking Hall or Rioli would be the best candidates to upgrade this week (goodes is cheap + i have the aforemention grudge match)

Here is my team, if there’s a better option, i’m happy to hear it.
also: opponent has GAJ for captain, i’m think Goddard for me

        BACK
        B.Goddard, L.Hodge, N.Malceski,
        M.Maguire, P.Davis, J.Waite, K.Bradley

        B.Sheppard, B, J.Webberley

        MID
        B.Gibbs, J.Selwood, A.Cooney.
        J.Bartel, M.Barlow, C.Judd

        D.Martin, L.Jetta

        RUK
        A.Sandilands, N.Naitanui

        J.Trengove, R.Warnock

        FWD
        M.Pavlich, J.Brown, R.O’Keefe,
        B.Hall, J.Podsiadly, C.Rioli, T.Rockliff

        L.Franklin, S.Gumbleton

  3. Nice team other than no GAJ….. I’d suggest if you need some cash get rid of Trengrove for Stanley or Skipper, and upgrade to Chapman…. Goodes is not a bad option if you want to save the cash. Alternatively, you could look to change Phil Davis for Enright.

Next Week i’d be looking to get rigd of Martin, wasted on the bench for Gysberts and upgrade one of your Mids to GAJ…. if short on trades, then stay as-is.

    1. i disagree Big Sexy, i reckon Ben should upgrade Malceski to Enright before Davis…

i do agree with downgrading martin asap, but he could upgrade rioli to chapman (if the finances work out), instead of the midfield, which looks great.

well thats my 2 cents worth lol.

btw Ben how much are you averaging with that team?

  4. Good advice guys, Trengove out is a good option, I should have jumped on Skipper last week! but still a good option.

I’ll look into trying to get Chappy, might be able to get him AND Goodes over the next two weeks, but I’ll see.

As it stands now, i’ve got 9 trades left and 95,900 in the bank.

Cam: you think Malchecski out over Davis??

As for my averages, been up and down, and quite a bit of trading. Season Average is 2087, but the last three rounds have been like this:
    Rnd08: 2,432
    Rnd09: 2,006
Rnd10: 2,258 (would have been more if i remembered to set emergency for thye midfield. I didnt and got a doughnut for Barlow!)

    1. hmm, with 9 trades left it might be better to hold off on the backline trades, as both are going ok….

i reckon it might be better to downgrade jetta next week to gysberts, depending on how he goes, then maybe upgrade rioli to someone else…

your team looks good and i dont think u need to do anything this week…

    1. if u want okeefe/goodes, perhaps do a Ball> O’keefe/Goodes trade, then u will have cash spare and can rotate okeefe/goodes, higgins, harvey and chapman around…
