Breaking Even – Rd9

Written by Schwarzwalder on May 14 2018

A popular feature at SCT, we’ve shortlisted the most SC-relevant players for you as a handy guide (mainly those owned by 5% of teams or more, with a few exceptions).

For the Supercoach newbies out there, the Breakeven is the score needed by each player to hold his price.  If they score above that Breakeven value, their $$ value will rise.  If they score below that Breakeven point, they will lose value.  Sorry if I’ve overlooked something.  Be sure to let me know in the Comments below and I’ll update it as soon as I can.  If you have any questions about Breakevens, don’t hesitate to ask in the Forum and I’m sure our friendly SCT Community will help out.

**  Out of pure rage, Petracca (MEL) & Billings (STK) have been removed from the list and they will not return **

  1. Thanks for the article as always.

Is Luke Parker an upgrade target? Surprised he is only averaging 100, but love the way he plays and am hoping he can over well over 100 for the rest of the season. At that price he’s very tempting. Happy to hear any thoughts from people that know more than me. Thanks

    1. As an owner of Parker I’d advise waiting at least a week. He scored big in round 1 and has been shite every week until last week, so his average doesn’t really tell the full story.

Parker seems to have runs of bad scores and runs of good scores, so who knows this week could be the start of a good run!

      1. last week was his only good week in ages
First two rounds he was great since then, he has been absolutely terrible and the way he plays has been bad aswell
He has been playing forward and not getting enough of the ball, in the game against geelong especially he was not getting the ball and every time he was near it he gave away free kicks or the ball to opposition
        definitely wait

        1. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. Maybe the Bont is the way to go. I need to find someone (hopefully cheap) to replace Sloane-dawg.

          1. Yeah not a bad option, just keep in mind he has been playing in the forward line a lot. With a tough run coming up he wont be kicking 4 goals every week like he has

  2. Who are the higher priority defence trade-outs? Doedee, Finlayson or Naughton? Don’t want to keep Naughton for a week as my bench consists of Mirra and Murphy (unless one of those gets a gig this week). At the moment its looking like Naughton down to Keeffe (swing with Sicily) and Doedee/Finlayson up to Yeo.

    1. Naughton and Finlayson first for mine. But you have the same problem as me as far as Murphy/Mirra bench and then considering someone like Keefe with limited JS as D6.

I’m now considering Naughton to Simpson and Barry for Ed Phillips.

Or Naughton to Keefe and Holman/Brayshaw to Dangerfield.

I’ll make my decision pending how long Naughton is going to be gone for, and whether Mirra gets back into the Hawks side.

  3. It would appear that Oliver is the best option this week in premo mids, then Danger. I think Danger can wait another week
