C U 2nite

Righto! Big decision time. With Buddy and GAJ going postal on their opponents last week it meant the difference between winning and losing for a lot of SC teams. Don’t get this wrong!

Who gets the C?

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. I’m not arguing with GAJ. 155 last week and belted out a 143 last time he played my boys at Etihad. This week we’re playing at Metricon. Not sure what difference that will actually make but you would have to think he’d prefer playing at home. I actually think he will match his breakeven this week too. Saints are coming off quite a few 6 day breaks and now a travel (not whinging about the fixture) -just observing that the Little Master might be ready to pounce on our arrival.

    Don’t let me down, Gaz.

  2. Aready have 6 donuts to my side so definetly going Buddy as captain this week playing Port and coming of the lazy 236. Have to risk it for the biscuit.

  3. I’ve managed to reduce my four doughnuts to three by trading horsley instead of smith and doing some switching of mid/fwd’s. I will be giving the “C” to the little master. Rule #2 of supercoach- never take the captaincy off GAJ!

  4. Goddard for mine.

I was looking at 15 non-scoring players (possibly 16 if Redden doesn’t start) but have traded Scotland and Pendlebury and am looking to trade Shaw as we speak. Smedts, Horsley and Giles will be on the block next week.

  5. Guys, I know this isn’t the Trade Talk column, but any merit in the following this week?

Horsley BE 85 > Didak BE 9 (who would be moved into the forward line)

Only have $57k in the bank and don’t fancy any of the downgrade targets this week (Don’t like Williams’ JS and Sexton’s scoring potential), so can only really make the one trade. This one would cost $14k. If Didak could get back to anywhere near his 2009-10 form, he’d be a steal at $339k. He has collected over 20 disposals in 3 of his 4 games this year.

Thumbs UP: Snaffle him and save a donut across the byes, he’ll average ~95 for the season.
Thumbs DOWN: He’s past it, don’t bother, save the trade for another rainy day.

    As always, cheers fellas.

  6. About the only thing you don’t have to worry about this week is captain selection, GAJ all the way. The problem is avoiding donuts.

I’m not sure what I’ll do come the deadline. Do I go one cow out for a prem? a cow and Pendles out for two prems? Two cows and Pendles out for three prems? Or do I add a low-price rookie instead, and go two cows for a prem and a cheapie?

Making it tougher is that any of the first three options (adding only prems) means I won’t be able to add Priddis next week with a single trade. Two cows for a prem+cheapie means I should be able to bring in Priddis with a single trade.

FWIW my opponent this week is looking at just as many donuts as I am, and if we go in with the squads we currently have I think I’ll win. But if he makes any trades to replace donuts, he’ll probably win. So I’m second-guessing him as well.
