Captain Selection Critical

by Motts on May 21, 2010

After Luke Hodge outscored Gary Ablett by about 50 last week I’ll be interested to see if it influences many Coaches to switch the C to someone else.

Of my skipper options (Hodge, Goddard, GAJ, Judd, Swan, Pav) GAJ still seems the most likely to score 150+.

Going with the obvious choice. GAJ for me.

If I had sandilands I’d put him against ruckless Sydney but gaj averages 150 and got 100 last week so he will definitely fire this week.

Sandilands. For reasons stated above. The big man is going to have a feast.

Armstrong had 3 cont possies out of his 25. Most were kicks across the back to Bock/Rutten/Davis/Jaench with no risk.
Craig is finally going with his preseason structure of Stevens down back.

Going for Brendon Goddard as my Head Honcho this week,he tears it up against the Eagles. Last year he scored a massive 175 in round 3 then 112 in R15 with a avg of 130 in he’s last 3 games against the eagles it looks like another big one for Goddy.

As for my trades this week

Gram out for NDS, coz of injury and the fact NDS is pretty cheap even though he has a be of 133, i think he’ll get that this week, should of got rid of Gram two weeks ago.

I know I should of picked this bloke over Rocky, but at a extra $250k or so the JPOD finally gets a jumper for the injury ridden Murphs. JPOD will still make more money tonight with a be of -42 but I really picked him on he’s form which has been incredible to say the least, Go the JPOD.

The Juddster for me – can’t see any real tagging pressure other than from Sheils.
Great to see GAJ’s score. Great way to start the weekend along with a Collywobble or two (Neon really needs some time in the 4B2s to regain confidence.)
Can’t wait to hear the excuses – how could the AFL possibly have approved a schedule that gave them only a 7 day break from the Perth trip?
Eddie will be all over that to ensure there’s no such bias against them in the draw next year. After all, the Cats only travelled to Brisbane.

Dont get me started……….. Dockers- Travel to Brisbane-6 day turnaround- Collingwood at home-6 day turnaround-then all the way to Sydney!!! The AFL sux!!! No fairness whatsoever in the draw. Its all about the mighty $$$$$$$$$$$

I think you’ll find that Geelong were the better team on the night-good luck to them.
I hope the Pies learn a lesson from this defeat, but, only time will tell.
