Captain Selection Is Critical

by Duck on February 23, 2010

Time and time again i was heard to say CSC … Captain Selection Critical … and it is, this year will be no different. I along with other blokes in my league and many through the entire competition would have won and lost games on captain selection alone.

Round 1 for the 2010 season proper is still 4 weeks away but while you’re crafting your team over the NAB Cup you must be considering who’s going to lead the boys out for that all important first round.

I know there’s plenty of other options but i’ve kicked things off with a few blokes i know will be in contention. If your bloke isn’t there then let us know in the comments.

Swan or Goddard in my team with Hodge and Franklin being the other options.

Goddard enjoyed playing against Sydney last year (unlike every other year) scoring 128 & 132………nice!

Judd is suspended for rounds 1-3 so cant see how he can come into anybodies calculations for round 1 captain.

Hard to argue with those stats.

Swan’s record vs WB and Roo’s record vs Sydney are certainly sub-standard for them.

Must be taking the piss there bob. Hodgey will be a good choice this year. Should spend more time in the guts and with the captaincy. This is shaping as his year!

I’m surprised to see so many people picking Ablett. Its a bit of a risk that could go either way. To his advantage he won’t have the likes of Selwood or Bartel taking his possies but the disadvantage is he won’t have those guys protecting him. I’ll wait til mid season before I consider picking him up
