Correspondence

Written by Motts on July 26 2013

We love letters like this. And I can assure you all that the feeling is 100% mutual.
Hi Motts,
Just a quick email before the SC season comes to an end to thank you & the SCT staff for your ongoing efforts on the SCT site.
You guys provide such an awesome site for us every day footy followers to come together, swing ideas & learn from each other. I’m sure I’m not the only one that benefits in my overall rankings (currently 242nd) over the past few years, thanks to SCT & the staff behind the scenes BS, Duck, MJ, Nath & of course your fine self buddy.
Cheers Catta
PS…On a personal note, my eldest son has just finished his 1st full season of under 9’s as an 8 year old after suffering 5 years of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with “Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia” on Christmas Eve 2006. He not only inspires us daily/weekly/monthly & yearly with his attitude ………but this year he has inspired everyone around him by kicking 27.9 for the season ( in 8 games ) to be the leading goal kicker in his competition by 12 goals. I really wanted to post this in a thread somewhere on SCT, but I wasn’t sure if it was appropriate so I thought I’d add it to my thank you email.
Keep up the gr8 work Motts…………….Go Hawks!

  2. Awesome work by the young fella, he would be a first picked forward in my Under 9 Supercoach team especially with that sort of accuracy in front of goal.

  6. Good work Catta and a great story to read. Congrats on the young fellow.

He does not run up like JJK does he with that kind of accuracy.

I bet he is not a left footer but a right footer. Not as woeful as buddy in front of goal but sounds more like Jacky Gunston.

  12. Fantastic read.
I think it has all been said above, a massive thanks to the whole SCT team for what they do everyday.
Must be very proud of the little fella Catta. I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old son and the thought of them going through what your son has had to endure, just breaks my heart. You look at life differently when you become a parent. The next time we have a doughnut on the field or our captain stinks it up, just think back to this article and life may not seem so bad. Goon on ya mate

  13. Great words Catta. Fantastic news on your eldest boy. As a father of 3 myself, it would be every parents nightmare to go through what you went through with your boy. Good luck for his footy, i’m sure he has been loving every minute of it.
