Back in early February i happened to mention a bloke i liked the look of and hasn’t he just done me proud in his first 2 outings for Geelong?!?
James Podsiadly is who I’m talking about, if you have him in your team you’d know how well he’s going …. if you don’t then allow me to tell you.
In R3 he belted out a 102 against Freo. Just to prover that wasn’t a 1 off he racked up another 96 against a woeful Port outfit. Now that’s an average of 99 over the 2 games from a guy that only broke the bank to a tune of $83,400.
So after a round that saw me tip 7 winners (Essendon ….. what was i thinking?!?) i have to give it to James Podsiadly, at that price and with those numbers he really is the Ducks Guts.

Is trading Ziebell or T Walker for Pods a good idea. I have got Rockliff and Hitchcock on the F bench for coverage. I know it would free up alot of cash but am a bit worried bout wasting a trade even though i have only used 2 so far. Thoughts?

if you have only used 2 trades bring him in. Youll make a bit of dosh out of it and he plays carlton this week who are struggling for tall defenders. Worth one of your trades i think if you still have 18.

Here’s the thing…. I have 3 mid range forwards being, Zeibell, Mayne and Yarran all of whom are averaging around 65-70 which is really not that good to me.
I am wanting to trade two of them out for Pods (before the price rise) and Brennan from the Lions who is flying giving me another premium forward.
I have the coverage (albeit not great) of Gumbleton and Hitchcock on the bench.
Which 2 of the 3 should I rid myself of, currently leaning towards Zeibell and Mayne and keep Yarran or shoudl I just leave it alone… Thoughts?

a tip for you guy looking at a forward…try getting in milne. i traded medhurst for him last week and that won me my 1st game. im thinkin that he has to score goals this yr with reiwoldt out who else will? kosi wont do much so that leaves milne. i hate the bloke dont get me wrong but he will kick 45-50 goals this yr. he wont kick bags every week but think about it after about round 9-10, there will be 4-5 teams who cant make it and start blooding youth. west coast, richmond, melb, port, nth, most likely so saints will smahs alot of them. im averaging 2150 and with a aocuple trades this week, ash mcgrath out for schofield and ziebel for pods, ive got 470k in the bank which give me the option of gettin in chapmen of judd, delsanto etc…. look at alot fo teams and u will see the same guys, ladson, ziebel , medhurst etc…these guys wills croe 70-80 at best medhurst might have a day out and get 120 but thats how far they will go.
steve—i say keep mayne get rid of ziebell and yarran…the aboriginals are really hit and miss especially the young ones he scored well last week , this week he will be lukcy to crack 40. get the cash in the bank and unload on a huge midfield…
in the end it all comes down to luck..my guys never all play well together..the week i score 2700 some1 will score 3000!

Don’t be so quick to offload JZ as Paul notes .While he has not set the world on fire his price is reflects this.Other players at the same price have had higher scores they also have had scores alot lower.e.g.R.Murphy about 16 points if memory serves.

Hey guys need help. I currently have Pods on the feild and Waite on the bench, now my prob is i have mastern in the mid and he is not really getting me points so what i was thinking was pods is doing better then waite and he is sure to get most games this year, so was gonna trade waite to rockliff ( who if pods dont play he will) and get 273k and i have 75k spare so that leaves me with around 350k and then swap Mastern (437k) which i will then have around 687k, so i was thinking of getting goddard for Mastern or some one around Goddards price, ANy thoughts will be awesome thanks

Any thoughts? I feel the need to get Pods considering no sane coach would drop a guy playing the way he has. The chopping block contenders are Ballantyne and R.Murphy. Also i have a burning desire to get Cox (i know what the way that sounds), but my rucks aren’t that bad with Nic, Leuy, Warnock, Trengove. I do have enough cash to do

where all the love gone for ballantyne. i know he had a bad weekend, but he’s not the first to come unstuck by “Saints footy”. i think he’ll be alright while freo go ok. everyone was trading him in a couple of weeks ago. he’s got richmond this week too. getting pods is a very good idea but im just wondering if you have another bench forward you could swap him for or maybe you need the cash youd get out of a ballantyne->pods trade.

My forward line is currently:
J Brown, O’Keefe, Chapman, Hall, Franklin, Gray, Medhurst
Reserves: Gumbleton $178,400, Hitchcock $158,400
As I have no intention of trading any of my on-field forwards at this point in time (possibly medhurst maybe, but not necessary at this stage) is it worth jumping of Gumbleton or Hitchcock in order to get Rockliff or Pods before their price rises? and gain up to $90K (Gumby -> Pods) to upgrade Ball -> a premium ie. Judd/Swan
Have others considered this?
Alternatively there is the possibility of trading for example
Medhurst -> Rockliff/Pods to upgrade Ball -> Ablett

I got rid of Noballs about 2 weeks ago for Coons, so I think he should be your target this week, as for your forwards I’ll get rid of Gumby just coz of he’s injury history and it’s your choice who should come in for them two, hope that helps MJ.
