Observations:

Premium scoring history:

7.75 win/loss differential.

5.06 pre-bye/post bye differential.

2018:

1st season averaging below 80 since his debut season in 2009.

1st time averaging below 95 since 2012 with 3 seasons averaging 100+ and 2 seasons averaging in excess of 110+.

Heavily discounted due to injuries hampering his performance over the last 2 seasons and Hannebery has dropped drastically from averaging just shy of 114 in 2016 and averaging 30 disposals to 95 and 25 in 2017 and then 19 and 60 last year. A shift to St Kilda will be extremely beneficial for Hannebery who could return to a 95+ avg if he manages to stay fit for the majority of the season as he should comfortably increase his disposal averages, contested averages (tackles, contested possessions, etc) and his time on ground % (only 72% in 2018).

The main deterrence will be the injury risk as a hallmark of Hannebery’s game was his two-way running in conjunction with the ability to effectively play inside and outside and if these issues are constant or evident throughout the JLT/early season then he will struggle to be a worthwhile selection.

Verdict: Strongly consider for M5-M6

**Again, keep in mind that Adam wrote these in early December…..before Hanners’ injury*
