Fisher v Gilbert

Written by Motts on June 29 2010

Both part of one of the stingiest backlines in the AFL, both priced in the $480k’s, both averaging in the mid-90’s, both called Sam. Which one do you go for first?

How many trades do you have left? Let's assume you haven't made any moves this round yet.

  1. I Have Fisher and would like to replace Silvagi with Gilbert, but downloading Hitchcock won’t give me the $$$. I know it’s a risk, but I can afford Heath Shaw. He’s been a let down this season but seems good value for his price, for what he’s capable of..

    Thoughts?

    1. Heath Shaw scores well when he isnt tagged, but when he is, expect low scores. I have him, and he has done pretty well so far- excellent value at 404k IMBCO.
Shaw will be better than Gilbert in the long run I think, so go Shaw. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I went Gilbert, but Fisher is probably playing well enough to be in my side. I’m really waiting on the Riewoldt situation, and the ROK & Cox injury scenarios to develop.

  3. I am making two trades this week and just want some of your opinions on which is better:
    The trade I must make:
    Kreuzer –> Cox/Jolly
    Second trade:
    i) Maguire –> Gilbee/Enright
    ii) Higgins –> Pavlich (MID)
    iii) Hall/Rockliff –> Pavlich (FWD)

          1. I’ve decided to go with Jolly. I have 10 trades remaining, need to upgrade Waters, Maguire, Hall and Rockliff. That will leave me with 2 trades remaining if one of my players gets an injury. Can also afford to upgrade Higgins if no one gets injured or he keeps up his bad form, but I’m allowing for injuries.

          2. Aren’t you lucky! Having 10 trades left…you’ve done well…how are you on your ladder? I’ve only got 6 left lol and making 1 this week…Waters might not need to be upgraded at all, same with hall and rocky…

          3. Well when you say it that way it seems I’ve set myself up pretty well ๐Ÿ˜€ Oh yeah who you trading out? I’m in 2 leagues where we put in $10 each and winner gets $160 and I should finish top 4 in both ๐Ÿ˜€

          4. Well I was thinking:
            Waters–> Gilbee
            Maguire –> Enright
            Rockliff –> Pavlich/ Boomer/ N.Riewoldt (If he hits form)
            Hall–> Pavlich/ Boomer/ N.Riewoldt (If he hits form)
            Higgins –> Montagna
This is if everything goes to plan and if there are no injuries.

          5. Watersโ€“> Gilbee *if you don’t have Gilbert
            Maguire โ€“> Enright *yes
Rockliff โ€“> N.Riewoldt (If he hits form) *yes or Daisy, or keep him, he is posting good numbers a.t.m
            Hallโ€“> Pavlich *yes
            Higgins โ€“> Montagna *yes

          6. They were going to give an update on Cox again this morning on the 6PR radio here in the West but I missed it. In the preview they were suggesting his injury concern might not be too bad and he is at 193 games so he might want to gun for 200 this year. Given nic nat appears to be struggling as the season wears on – WCE probably needs Cox to play. If he plays this week I reckon he might try make it to the season end albeit playing reduced game time – the media have got it wrong before though so time will tell.

          1. Correct.
Although, Daisy is very consistent, low score of 68, one other score of 70, everything else between 82-133.
Boomer has higher highs, but lower lows with 4 scores between 11-53.
