Friday Night Footy – North Melbourne vs Carlton (Etihad)

Written by Big Sexy on July 19 2013

The hapless Kanga’s up against the fickle Blue baggers.  Who’s going to show up?    good North or bad North….. and will it be good Blues or rubbish Blues.  With Carlton 9th and North 11th, they’ve both have a lot to prove.

Players to watch North:  Swallow, Goldy, Thompson, Petrie

Players to watch Carlton:  Murph, Gibbs, Krooz, Judd, Walker

  1. I’ve never been one for ripping on blokes, and I don’t normally buy into too much I hear as a general consensus, but watching Bryce Gibbs constantly hang back off packs and his unwillingness to cop a knock and lay a hard tackle is pretty poor form from a bloke of his calibre.

Micks spending too much time screaming at Walker to notice it seems.

  2. North miss by a small margin again. Of course they threw the game away in the third, only for the cleaning lady to find it in the bin and hand it back.

  3. Gotta feel for the roos supporters. Even though I don’t support either team, I was going for the roos just so there supporters could finally celebrate winning a close one.
Great game to watch, here are my thoughts:
1)Kreuzer will be a star, potentially (I hate that word) the best ruckman in the afl.
2)Think the game has gone past Judd, just a shadow of his former self, actually bit sad watching him play now compared to how he was, time to retire?
3)If Thomas doesn’t get All Australian Honours, then it’s rigged. He is having an amazing season.
4)Even though North Melbourne have some great young players, replacing Harvey is gonna be hard. When the game was there to be one who stepped up?
And 5) two wins out of the eight North are done, is Carlton good enough to play finals this year? Probley, should be able to fight of Port and us (eagles).

  4. 4, 3, 2, 1, 1.

And that’s without the close win against Port or last week’s 12pt loss to the Lions.

Such a hard season to digest as a North person. Sooo much to like about the team. Their efforts tonight in the last quarter to not throw in the towel on the season show me that things are on the right track and that they’ll bounce back well from this season in 2014.

  5. Don’t like the idea of Gibbs becoming a tagger for our supercoach scores. Ziebell beat him tonight but it was a good battle and I really enjoyed the game, that’s how footy should be played.
