Where and when: the Gabba, Sunday June 30, 3.20pm AEST
What it means for Brisbane: A chance to solidify its spot in the top eight and continue to restore the Gabba’s reputation as a difficult away venue to play at. The Lions are five from six at home, including wins over West Coast, Port Adelaide and Adelaide.
What it means for Melbourne: With finals aspirations all but gone, the Demons can quickly turn spoiler for September-bound outfits. After knocking over Fremantle at the weekend, a win over the Lions would put some wind in Melbourne’s sails ahead of the final two months.
The stat: Now in his 11th season, Daniel Rich is playing career-best football. The Brisbane half-back is ranked second in the AFL for metres gained (6827), trailing only Sydney’s Jake Lloyd. Rich is doing so while kicking at a super-efficient 83 per cent.
The match-up: Lachie Neale v Clayton Oliver
The pair might not match-up head-to-head, but their respective influence could go a long way to deciding the result. Neale and Oliver are ranked fifth and fourth, respectively, for contested possessions and third and sixth for clearances – two midfield dynamos by any definition.
It’s a big week for: After a slow start to his season, Tom McDonald bounced back to form with 28 disposals and three goals against Freo. He needs to produce something similar to give Melbourne a chance of an upset.
Father Dougal’s Tip: Lions by 8 points.

Very..
Always struggles against Stef. Injured now as well.
Salem when he is on target, is one of my favourite PODs I own.
Have him in my DEADTeam. Shame he missed a few games early. (Gonna be) a gun!

What the actual f*ck is up with Gawn v Brisbane. Beating Martin and McInnerny 12 v 5 in hitouts and yet he’s only on 10 SC.
Gawn hobbling from the ground! Straight to the rooms!
Gawn down to the rooms limping
Gawn limping off and straight to rooms. Oh No!
Tell me Macca, you didn’t put the C on him?!
Is it serious?!
Ankle. Didn’t look great as he landed on someone’s leg and his foot hit the turf very awkwardly at a bad angle.
Maxy warming up on the sidelines, looks ok
He’s gonna be livid…
Ankle – didn’t look good
But taped up and running along boundary
nah AS I didn’t …. Fyfe is still a possibility!!
🙂
Take Gawn as a lesson. I’m nervous about Fyfe, but now have no choice after Danger. Not nailing the VC always makes me nervous, but you have no excuse!
gotta gamble a little in life!! … pity Bruce p followed my move to Fyfe – he was on Gawn!!
Hard game – some heavy hits
Gawn re-strapped and running!
And he’s back on!
will probably go 150 now with the jab

go Lachie
Got him last week. Kinda disgusting how easily he racks up SC points lol. Saw him just NEAR a contest and +2.
Forgot to take off a player from my forward line last night so I couldn’t loophole Grundy unless I took off Walsh and took a 63. Thought Gawn would do well enough, so not the worst thing until this injury.
Brisbane are great to watch these days. They bid on Cameron’s brother last year which WC matched. Imagine having 2 of them running around in the same forward line.
Great game to watch. From one 50 to the other and back again in under a minute!
Wonderful Sunday. First that horrible brown stain Gresham, and now captain gawn thanks to vc danger. Thought I was so clever holding off the rob to Grundy trade another week.
Gunna be a lot of below projected today methinks
On a completely random note, I really like Gilbert McAdam as an addition to the commentary team on 7. He was a superb player and a really nice counterbalance to a couple of the morons they usually have on the desk.
“… couple of the morons they usually have”. I nearly choked on my beer 🙂
Case in point: BT just called Answerth “Ainsworth” for the 10th bloody time.
BT needs to learn the English language full stop. I can’t stand him. I’ll switch to 3Aw or whatever else is available to avoid him. ‘Lllllllllloooyd’. ‘Fantaaaaaaasia’. He sounds like a knob trying to audition for movie preview voiceovers.
i’m a BT fan , but i hate roaming boofhead
geez May makes some poor disposal choices
At least he has decent hands unlike Petracca’s salad tongs!
gawn gettn his date handed to him on a plate
3 behinds and 2 OOTF for Rayner. Back to the 2s for you.
Rayner is gna rival Casbolt as a goal kicker
SC….why do we do it.
Why….just why ???
Zooooorks!!!
didn’t watch the 1st 1/2 ,
but Stef must be in the votes with the job he’s done on Gawny
Gawn nearly broke his ankle…
Ahh Buggers should’ve went with Neale will he be cheap
B.E of 146.
D’s would kill for a tagger to go with Zorko or Neale right now
geez , salad tongs got 1 ,
but gave Oliver a great hospital pass t finish it off 😉

Zorko
Neale
D’s have to be the biggest disappointment of 2019
maybe got ahead of themselves over the preseason after last years efforts
or the harder draw this year was just too hard
gawn @ 725k
in for a big price drop
Working well with plans for my Tech team
no gawn , no D’s
Felt sorry for Gawn he look very sad

Salem’s score has me in line for a 2400 now.
obviously no contracts coming up for the D’s this year
so dissapointed in myself.
Had the VC on Grundy but had no one to look him with. so stuck the C on Gawn. bugger.
Feel for Gawn, however not having him and O’brien As no 2 ruck has just given me a leg up in the rankings. In all seriousness though hope Gawn makes a quick recovery. Super bloke and competitor
