Game Chat – Brisbane v Richmond

Written by Motts on October 2 2020

Where and when: Gabba, 7:50pm (AEST)

Last time they met: R10, 2020 on August 4. Richmond 12.10 (82) DEF Brisbane 4.17 (41) at Metricon.

Last time they played at The Gabba was in Week 1 of the Finals, 2019. Brisbane 8.17 (65) DEF BY Richmond 18.4 (112)

Form: Brisbane: W, W, W, W, W. Richmond: W, W, W, W, W.

Match Preview: Brisbane have only won one game against the Tigers in the past 16 years. Let that sink in for a second. In that game, Ben Cousins was playing his second game for Richmond. Daniel Rich was playing his first season. That’s how long ago it was. So Richmond have already won the pre-game mental battle and the question is: can Chris Fagan rev his boys up enough to put a decade of losses behind them and win this match?

Motts Watch: Dusty and Lachie. Two of the best midfielders in the competition will be plying their trade against one another in this match. Looking forward to seeing who comes out on top.
Mottsy’s Tip: Richmond’s record against The Lions cannot be ignored. Tigers by 25.

  1. Dusty 1st QTR stats 7 disposals 3 centre clearances, most dominant player on the field, commentators calling it a masterclass and only 14 friggin SC points. Neale not sighted no possessions sits on 5 points, 9 less than Dusty!!

    1. Bruce…reckon Tiges might have been a tad stiff with fress but it evened up in the second half. Only got themselves to blame for the 50’s…especially the ones right on half time.
Tiges have lost more finals than bombers this year !!!

      1. We had quite a few mental lapses that allowed goals.
        Need to tighten that up.

I do think there is a lot of things need to go your way to win finals and premierships but you have to focus on what you can control

  3. Been a high pressure game.

Hoping my Tigers can lift in the second half.

Their delivery to chol hasn’t been great.
