Game Chat – Carlton vs Adelaide

Written by Schwarzwalder on July 27 2019

Where & When: MCG, Saturday July 27, 2.10pm AEST

MATCH SUMMARY

What it means for Carlton: After securing successive victories for the first time in more than two years, the Blues can continue to build confidence with another win on Saturday. Having moved up a spot on the ladder, they can also close the gap on more teams above them.

What it means for Adelaide: The Crows have now lost three of their past four games and are just clinging to their spot in the top eight. Victory on Saturday will consolidate their finals spot, while it might also help them gain some crucial confidence after a disappointing patch.

The stat: The MCG hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for the Crows recently. They have lost their past three games at the home of footy by an average of 50.3 points.

Schwarzwalder’s Tip: Adelaide by 5 points

  1. If you’d told me at the start of the season that I’d turn down a 117 from VC Grundy and confidently look to Reilly O’Brien as captain to outscore that, I’d have many questions for you. Primarily it would be, who’s he, who’s he play for and how’s he my R2??????

  2. Hey Roo Bloke
Punting on OBrien as C this week myself.
Can make or break me with many taking Gawn as Captain this round.
Was going to go O’Brien to Gawn last week and late omission of Z Clarke resulted in me keeping O’Brien.
This week was making same move however Kruzer omission changed my mind again.
In the end went Logue to Houli and used all my cash and benched Hurn and may now keep oBrien for rest of season if his form continues with rd 23 class vs English.

    1. Close, actually equal 2nd best of all time, the broadcast got it wrong.

Paul Salmon has the record with 22.

Still a bloody good effort either way.
