Game Chat – Fremantle vs Port Adelaide

Written by Huttabito on July 15 2018

WHERE AND WHEN: Optus Stadium, Sunday, July 15, 2.40pm AWST

SUMMARY
Port Adelaide has climbed into fourth spot on the ladder after comfortably securing a fifth consecutive victory over St Kilda last round and, with four of the last six games at Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s men will be eyeing a top-two finish. But first they will have to get the job done against an understrength Fremantle outfit which was fortunate to walk away with only a 54-point loss to a wasteful Melbourne in Darwin. The Dockers sorely missed giant ruckman Aaron Sandilands (calf) and superstar Nat Fyfe (hamstring) around clearances, and the challenge doesn’t get any easier against Paddy Ryder and the Power’s big-bodied midfield. After a shocking loss to Brisbane last start at Optus Stadium, Ross Lyon’s rebuilding outfit will be keen to produce a better showing at home, where they have generally played with greater confidence, faster ball movement and shown an ability to kick a winning score.

LAST FIVE TIMES
R1, 2018, Port Adelaide 16.14 (110) d Fremantle 9.6 (60) at Adelaide Oval
R2, 2017, Port Adelaide 22.13 (145) d Fremantle 8.8 (56) at Adelaide Oval
R13, 2016, Fremantle 12.14 (86) d Port Adelaide 9.15 (69) at Subiaco Oval
R23, 2015, Port Adelaide 18.14 (122) d Fremantle 8.5 (53) at Adelaide Oval
R1, 2015, Fremantle 11.9 (75) d Port Adelaide 10.8 (68) at Subiaco Oval

Hutta’s Tip:  Port Adelaide by 30 points

  2. Ken Hinkley,

If you wouldn’t mind to stop being inconsiderate to supercoach teams and actually get gray in the midfield where he dominates games rather than at full forward doing nothing that would be appreciated.

        1. Sorry gents I disagree, both Grays arms were free & Nyhius was definitely blind sided to the ball spilling loose!

The surface at Optus is potentially the hardest in the competition, especially harder on the sidelines on most grounds so unfortunately it was never going to end well for Gray

MRP….who really knows, won’t be surprised if he gets a week or actually doesn’t even get sighted truth be told!

          1. Had a look at footage , it seems at least left arm was pinned and it is irrelevant if ball spilled , you still don’t slam a bloke into the ground over boundary.

            1. Watched it again 3 times, both arms were free! Nyhius retarded his upper left arm but it wasn’t completely pinned, his right was free the whole time & Robbie actually used his right hand to try & break the tackle

Not saying it’s right to slam the player into the ground Bruce p, again incorrect it definitely does matter that he was unsighted to know the ball had spilt free….that takes away the intentional charge to a degree!

    1. It’s Hutta’s fault, he used the words Sunday Bloody Sunday to me early this morning 🙁

Since then, NicNat, JPK, Gray, Ryder, Sier & Turner all donned the red vest!

Frikken Carnage on the 11th hour, wonder if anyone es aped it & still smashes out a 2650+
