Game Chat – Geelong v Richmond

Written by Motts on September 11 2020

Where and when: Metricon, 7:50pm (AEST)

Last time they met: Preliminary Final 2019, Richmond 12.13 (85) DEF Geelong 9.12 (66)

What it means for The Cats: Need to win to lock in their Top 4 spot. Will also be dead keen to atone for being bundled out of last year’s finals.

What it means for The Tigers: Had their Top 4 spot taken last night by the Eagles. A win gets it back again and sends a message to the comp that they’re the team to beat this year.

Motts Watch: Dusty v Danger. Cannot wait!

  1. Thanks Mate!

I miss some starting times and are busy at others but once I tag Mottsy at the SCT Twitter handle I get straight on the site and post the final teams news in the game thread.

    1. should be a great game
control vrs chaos is what it’s being pitched as
i expect a lot of momentum swings.

  2. Got a dilemma with Riccardi out with no cover But only have one trade left and 10k in bank.

TU I trade Riccardi to anyone around the 250k mark for some points as there is no guarantee he’ll play next week

TD take this L hope he’s back Next week and save a trade for any premo that gets managed or injured

  3. You have to cover the donut I reckon when taking into account there is no guarantee Riccardi will be back next week. Apart from Coleman not sure who you can afford. Pity you did not have 60odd K in the bank as Rozee at 319k would be the obvious choice.

To cover Riccardi I am pulling the trigger on Draper to Rozee tomorrow.

    1. Just thinking even if he misses next week you’d say he scored 100ish over the 2 weeks if he played, could be way worse if any big dogs miss next week

  4. Quick thinking, no cover if docherty misses
    Which is better

Tu; docherty & close > rivers & dusty
    Td; docherty & close > rich & acres/wingard

    1. I don’t know why Scott persists with these very late changes? It was suggested this afternoon that this change could occur so why wait until after the late changes are notified. He has past history of doing this…fine him?

  7. I know that Supercoach is based on stats and not just influence on the game. But how on earth do they have Geelong on the same amount of SC points as Richmond?!? Richmond are absolutely dominating and Geelong are just chipping it around the back.

  8. So 7 Geelong players and 4 tigers scored better than riewoldt who kicked 4 goals with contested marks in a low scoring win. So much for influence in a game.
