Game Chat – GWS v Essendon

Written by MJ on March 13 2015

Ryan Griffen dominated the headlines in the Giants first NAB Challenge match with 161 points off the back of 25 disposals in his first game for his new club. Shiel (126), Ward (109), Coniglio (97) and Whitfield (91) also performed well as an on-ball brigade that has a lot of potential to do some damage this season.

Big Johnno Giles was the best for the depleted Dons last week with 111 points. They do have a few senior players back this week, including the likes of Brendan Goddard and David Zaharakis in the squad of 29.

Who’s impressing you tonight?

  1. Looking forward to see how Giles goes again this week. If ASADA do end up taking half the team out, Goddard, Giles and anyone else with a bit of senior experience will be flying score wise.

Anyone know when the hammer is meant to be coming down on that case, or are they going to do it mid-season?

  3. I managed to see the game (thanks again for the tip, Mutts!). Surely there’s a spot in the best 22 for Steele. Looks a likely type! Thought Whitfield looked classy with the ball but he’s not really SC relevant…….

  4. I know he was only up against his old training partner, but Mumford scored that 99 in just a half of football! He is one big unit…….I might have to re-think my 2015 prediction on “who to steer clear from” ๐Ÿ˜‰
