R19, 2015, GWS 14.9 (93) d Essendon 8.13 (61) at Spotless Stadium

R17, 2013, Essendon 18.8 (116) d GWS 11.11 (77) at Spotless Stadium
R6, 2013, Essendon 17.18 (120) d GWS 12.9 (81) at Etihad Stadium

Game notes: The Giants are coming off their first ever win over West Coast and will need to recover well after only getting back to Sydney on Monday afternoon. They’re struggling with a long injury list but the 22 being picked each week has done the job so far, and coach Leon Cameron will need even contributions from all of his players again this week. Essendon was right in it with a six-goal opening term against Richmond last week, but kicked just four more for the match, and will need to bring far more scoreboard pressure against GWS. The battle between speedy Bomber forwards Josh Green, Orazio Fantasia and Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti, and attacking Giants defenders Heath Shaw, Nathan Wilson and Zac Williams, should be one to keep an eye on, and the visitors will need to work just as hard when they don’t have the footy to kept the home side in check.

Thommo’s Tip: GWS by 20 points.

While we do our best to update posts with end of quarter scores, we aren’t always online so if you have access to the scores and see they haven’t gone into the Comments section of this post, the Community would love it if you could help us out.

  3. I only need 37 points from Myers to do my ideal trades next week thanks to Stewart putting up 73. Didn’t think it was too much to ask. Apparently so.

    1. I feel your pain, Hutta. I have three campaigners playing in this game, and they’ve combined for a total of 63 points 🙁

    1. I’ll just add that watching the game, Josh Kelly’s score barely does him justice. Great player that GWS just have to keep somehow

      1. He’s a real chance for the brownlow this year, and that’s coming from me; Jasper Mcmillan Pittard

    2. Would certainly be handy if Taranto can keep up this form. Boy was I close to trading him out a few weeks ago. Only thing that stopped me was having to cull Turner, who incidentally appears to have turned around his form as well!

  6. Lloyd doubled his score in the last 10 minutes of that quarter. If he’d be nice enough to double it again this quarter that would be really appreciated!

  8. His score is out of my team this week anyway, but Myers had 17 touches and a goal
and is second lowest bomber score? However I can’t complain as I brought in Z.Williams this week.Swings and roundabouts!

      1. Most of his possessions weren’t very effective though – a couple of 2 metre soccers come to mind, a lot of hack kicks too

        52% efficiency with 4 clangers
