Game Chat – Hawks v Roos

Written by Motts on July 4 2014

The Roos have been up and about today saying that their best footy can beat anyone. That may be so but the question is: will their best footy-playing team turn up tonight? A loss to the Lions last week suggests not but they have a tendency to bounce back after a loss.

The Hawks welcome back Sammy Mitchell but lose Delicious Cyril. Perhaps more importantly they regain Wall Puncher Al in the coaches box. The boys love The Angry Imp and play their hearts out for him.

I’m tipping the Blue and White Mr Hyde to turn up tonight.

Hawks by 5 goals.

  1. Mr Hyde’s the ferocious beast of a creature isn’t he. I’ll take that as a positive on the sporting field and hope we play with that mindset. Tipped Hawks but reckon we’ll be in this game for most of the contest.

Only top 4 team we haven’t beaten this year is Hawthorn.

  3. Slightly concerned tonight, not exactly sure why though to be honest!

Hawks to make it 8 wins from past 11 outings against the Kangers.

  4. Have a feeling I shouldn’t look this weekend at my team. Have Hibberd. Shaw and Bews. Good start. Not. Then have SJ, Bartel, Selwood and Danger. All late withdrawal rumours. So could have 7 outs. Here’s hoping then that Cotchin as VC scores about 850

  6. Bringing in Brad Sewell last week as a straight swap for Griffen is now officially my stupidest SC decision making EVER and sums up my worst SC season ever. If you’ve climbed in the rankings in 2014, it’s cause of chumps like me!!

Let’s not judge my decision making as I know it was flawed. Just sharing the story.

  7. Reckon Litherland should hit up liquor land for a sponsorship. I swear the commentators r saying liquor land…. Am I the only one or is it the beers ?

  8. I don’t care that I made some terrible SC decisions
I don’t care that sportingbet ripped me off
I don’t care that I got the tip wrong tonight
We beat the reigning premier and have now beaten the top four teams.

    GO NORTH!!

Interested to know the opinion of those who watched it on the box re Lake’s issues in the 3rd. The punch on Dal – did he connect? The choke on Drew – playful wrestle or something more.

  9. Now that was a long trip home, well played Kangers!

Interesting fact, the Kangers have now beaten the Hawks, Swans, Port & Freo this year, but they lose to the Lions last week! In BT fashion WOWWEE!

The much better team got the 4 points tonight, well done Roo Bloke 🙂
