Game Notes: Melbourne could look back at its 41-point win over Adelaide in round eight as a defining moment in its season. Particularly so, if the Demons make it back-to-back wins over the Kangaroos on Sunday. The Demons should head into the game against the Roos as clear favourites, yet having faltered in that position too many times in the past they must prove they can win with the expectation placed upon them. Melbourne was again able to overcome its lack of a recognised ruckman (although Crow Sam Jacobs had 74 hit-outs), but must do so again facing up against influential big man Todd Goldstein. The Roos put in their worst performance of the season in a 42-point loss to Sydney and will be looking to bounce back hard. The inclusion of Jarrad Waite helps North’s chances after he was sorely missed – through suspension – against the Swans.

  2. Goldy should dominate against a make shift Melbourne ruck division. Also, for those that didn’t hear B Scott during the week, he ruled out Goldy and Preuss playing in the same team.

    1. That’s big news. Wonder which one will move on and find a new home. Preuss is way too good of a ruckman to be playing in the VFL.

Said it once, I’ll say it again. We could very much do with one of them for when Sandi moves on.

    2. That’s a big change from what he said earlier in the season – when he was on Footy Classified he said that he wanted to play both of them, and certainly didn’t rule out playing them together.

  7. Pedersen still been a good buy for those who got on early, and his round the ground work has been good too. With Hogan’s medical issue you would think he will retain his spot for a while yet.

    1. He should keep his job, but sadly he’ll only keep his current role until either Gawn comes back. I’m loving the scores while they last, though.

  8. Hmm… i was all over EVW all preseason then he wasnt named early. I’ve had to fight fires all allong but i really need to move on otten, hampton and marchbank. Yet there are no rookies coming through. Too late?
