Game Chat – Port Adelaide vs Hawthorn

LAST FIVE TIMES

R4, 2015, Port Adelaide 15.9 (99) d Hawthorn 13.13 (91) at Adelaide Oval
2PF, 2014, Hawthorn 15.7 (97) d Port Adelaide 13.16 (94) at the MCG
R10, 2014, Port Adelaide 15.10 (100) d Hawthorn 13.8 (86) at Adelaide Oval

Game notes: This is another huge test for Hawthorn as it looks to turns its season around and feature in the finals. Jarryd Roughead’s match-winning goal against Sydney last Friday night moved the Hawks to a 4-6 record and kept them in touch with the top eight. Fellow veterans Shaun Burgoyne and Luke Hodge were also outstanding to help the Hawks rally late and pull off a famous victory. But they will have to be at their best to secure back-to-back wins on the road. Port Adelaide will be desperate to get back in the winners’ circle after a heart-breaking two-point loss to Geelong at Simonds Stadium last Thursday night. The eighth-placed Power (5-4) have made light work of teams below them on the ladder this season. Coach Ken Hinkley has them playing an exciting brand of football reminiscent of 2014, when they lost to the Hawks by three points in a preliminary final classic.

Thommo’s Tip: Port Adelaide by 30 points.

  2. Excuse Fellas and Ladies, I have a trading problem and admitting it is the first step.. right?

Had to use three trades to avoid donuts this week and brings me down to 12 left because I don’t want to lose my 4000 overall ranking. Is there a tradeaholics group I could join?

    1. Second week in a row that the commentators are praising Ryder’s game but it’s not transferring to SuperCoach points. The boy can tap but doesn’t do much else.

      1. Without looking closely at the stats thought he was stiff tonight. 13 possies with 5 contested, 23 hit outs 10 to advantage plus a goal. Thought it was a 90+ performance.

  5. Of course Roughy and SPP pull 90 a piece after I turn them into spare change. This year has been such a battle

  7. Big question after tonight is the future of Cousins and Willsmore? Will they be still in the team next week because some major changes could be coming after that performance

    1. Most of the hawks where whitches hats in the first half – Cousins was solid, think he should keep his spot for next week against the suns.

  8. Massive game by Dixon. I should have given him the VC and not Wines. I have also decided that Ryder doesn/t score well on SC. He had an awesome game and still scored less than Powell Peper on 81 vs 88

  9. Ryder- all I was hearing from the commentators and players (Wines) was the silver service he was giving. Apparently (see Mummy’s stats 2 weeks ago) that should convert into a good SC score. Not if you’re not a CD favorite.
