R2, 2014, Richmond 14.14 (98) d Carlton 12.14 (86) at the MCG

Game notes: Richmond faces a white hot Blues outfit this weekend at the MCG with the Tigers coming off the back of another tough loss – this time to the Swans after they gave up a 6-goal lead. Carlton coach Brendon ‘Bolts’ Bolton has the Blues’ defensive set up firing, with Simmo and Doc proving tough to shut down behind the ball in recent weeks. However, the Tigers’ speedy small forward line of Daniel Rioli, Dan Butler and new addition Shai Bolton will be out to keep them honest. Dusty’s output was slightly down last game with 23 disposals so look out for a reply. Alex Rance will head into the clash with great confidence after blanketing Swans superstar Lance Franklin and keeping him to just one goal but will know that a rampaging Levi Casboult will be much harder to contain. If the Blues win this one, can they be talked about as one of the greatest rebuilds of all time? The Tigers will head in as favourites in a game they should win if they want to cement themselves as a top-eight side. But the Blues will probably kick a goal in the last 30 seconds to win by a single digit margin.

Mottsy’s Tip: (Surprise, surprise!) Carlton by 5 points.

While we do our best to update posts with end of quarter scores, we aren’t always online so if you have access to the scores and see they haven’t gone into the Comments section of this post, the Community would love it if you could help us out.
