Game Chat – Roos v Cats

Written by Motts on May 23 2014

Where is North Melbourne at right now? They’re the Jeckyll and Hyde team of the competition. Their best footy knocks over any team in the league (Port, Sydney, and Fremantle are all victims this year) but then they’ll drop a game to Gold Coast or Essendon. This game should be a good indication.

There’s never a great time to be heading down the highway to play Geelong at Kardinia but this week is not the worst. Without Stevie J, coming off a 6 day break, having travelled back from WA the week before.

I’m predicting Hyde turns up tonight. Geelong by 32.

  1. Getting Bews in this week but need another downgrade. Pity Cameron has Sunday game. Who is more likely to be sub

    T/U – Lennon
    T/D – Cameron.

  2. I’d like to thank everyone at SCT last week, I put up a poll about Tom Waterhouses special for Buddy to kick 3 and Swans to win, the community gave me the confidence to go $50 on it and walked away with a $100 profit. Now for this week. I’m taking the Selwood 30+ touches at $3. And want to have a go at another
T/U – Hawkins to kick 3 and Geelong to win
    T/D – Geelong to win by 25+
    Both paying $3, thanks guys!!

  3. Moved heaven and earth and broken several of SCT’s unwritten rules in getting Joelwood into the side this week…

See if I can’t have better luck with the subs vest! Surely can’t cop 4 this week can I?

Chances of a late call up for Lloyd remote?

  4. GEELONG vs NORTH MELBOURNE
    Late changes:
    None for either side
    Subs:
    Mark Blicavs (Geelong)
    Ryan Bastinac (North)

  5. Was going to go Selwood as VC on debut but with Stevie J out frightened North with put the hard tag on him. GAJ as C, but deciding last minute on Selwood v Pendles (v WC)

    Thumbs UP: Selwood as VC
    Thumbs DOWN: Pendles as VC

  7. Have done suckling and Taylor to bews and Selwood. Gonna give Selwood Vc duties straight up. Hoping him and bews play well as I only have 17 unless Lloyd plays

  8. Who do I trade out to bring in Selwood?
TU : L. Dunstan _ break even getting a bit high
TD: Acres (who is injured for 5 weeks)

  9. Bringing in either J. Selwood or D. Martin – prices on both about to go up, Martin about $100K cheaper but Selwood I think will average more for the remainder of the year.
    TU: Selwood
    TD: Martin

  10. So Crouch is made sub after a bye then dropped. Lloyd plays ok for Richmond and is the only omission. Only rational explanation? AFL coaches have Supercoach teams and are deliberately screwing with us!

  11. Lot of number crunching but I’m done.

    Dunstan > Griffen
    Suckling > Hurn
    JKH > Honeychurch

    Leaves me flat broke!!

Think Griff’s largely been ignored in upgrade options this week. He’s seriously good value at his current price.

Hurn’s a risk but one worth taking IMO.

Honeychurch is a speculative rookie pick but couldn’t afford anything better.

  12. I have 5 players playing tonight, all of whom were not in my team 2 weeks ago. So will be watching with interest and a few beers, the performances of Jelwood, Bartel, Bews, Harvey & Petrie.

  13. Trades for me:

    Dunstan – Joelwood
    Crouch – Hartung
JHK – Boomer ( Would of loved Parked but due to the bye and me finding 16 or 17 players on park i need them points)

Leaves me with 15 trades and 39k banked due for a double downgrade next week, with either

    Cutler to Bews
    Lloyd to Cameron/Shenton

With that cash i’ll go bang

    Fasolo to Parker
One of Langford/ Taylor to premos

  14. 10 mins till rolling lock out.

Who to bring in (can do either via DPP)

    TU: Cameron
    TD: Bews

I think Cameron has more job security so I’ve got him in at the moment….

  19. Cats well and truly landing on there claws tonight, after a couple of tough games. Can even afford to rest Joelwood up front, for large parts of the game.

  23. Polec to selwood done
    JKH to Cameron done

Now I want to trade crouch to a mid/fwd got 270k to spend want them to end up in the fwd line
    1.gray 541k avg 108 6 tons 2 70s

    2. Dahlhaus 515k avg 100 4 tons 1 50 1 70 1 90

    3. Breust 465k avg 99 3 tons 1 60 1 70 2 80s 1 90

    4. Wingard 424k avg 84 2 tons 1 90 2 80s 1 70 1 50

Basically what I’m asking is it worth paying top dollar for the likes of gray/Dahlhaus or save some dough on cheaper players

My fwd line is: danger, Parker, Martin, zorko, Higgins, Taylor ( Cameron, Ambrose)
