Game Chat – Sunday Arvo, R13

Written by MJ on June 15 2014

Geelong v St. Kilda – Massive news here is that Stevie J is out for the Cats. Hopefully you were able to save your Watson trades til today, as there’s no reversing them now! The Cats should win comfortably here you’d think.

Cats by 38.

Collingwood v Western Bulldogs – A lot of coaches will be relying on the Pies midfield brigade for their captain choices this week after Gaz was less than inspiring with 106. Can’t see the Dogs putting up too much of a challenge here.

Pies by 33.

Essendon v Melbourne – Will the ASADA flare up have a bearing on today’s game? The Dees will fancy themselves a decent chance here and should put up a good showing. Watson out will hurt the Bombers, but I expect them to still get up in a close one.

Dons by 5.

  2. Held back the Tyson/Watson to Stevie J trade for Selwood, glad I did

Not many options, think I’ll take the cash loss on Tyson, next week Stevie J and JPK

TU – Hold the Tyson trade for next week and lose some $$$
TD – Got to trade Tyson

  5. I’ve held my trades up until the last minute all year. Why oh why did I break that rule with Watson to Stevie J. There goes top 15 ranking.

  8. To be fair, it’s a catch 22 with Stevie J if you were one who just traded him in. Even if you had waited for final teams to be named, who would you go to?. Everyone should/probably has Beams, Selwood and Pendles, so that leaves options of Goddard, Griffin, Libba (way too expensive and not worth it at that price imo) Nat Jones and Swan. I’ve probably missed someone but the fact remains that it’s not the end of the world, and there’s a very good chance he’ll average more than any of those guys, and be much better in the long run. Or maybe I’m just trying to make myself feel better hehe.

  10. Controversial one, but a player i will be looking at today to monitor as future risky, but potential great upside trade in option… is Jack Grimes.
D/M DPP & currently sitting at 320K (down >100K). Always injury concerns, but is only 25 years old & if Demons continue to improve he could be a great straight swop with Langford or Hallahan to set up D7 / M9 D/M DPP link where i think he could average 75 – 80 for remainder of season.
Waiting for S.Mitchell as a fellow D/M DPP who at 420K would be better value than Grimes, however just got a feeling that Grimes could come good.

Any Dee’s fans / footy observers got any thoughts on Grimes as i’ve not even noticed him this season in terms of SC relevant role etc

  12. I actually outsmarted myself and put Acres on the field to get Taylors 101. This left Shenton on the bench after making sure Selwood lined up only for Beams to be a late withdrawal. Basically unlucky.
Luckily I think I have all 5 league matches in my keeping. Already put Georgiou on field to loophole Walkers score by benching Langdon.

  23. Hi guys, first post here, long time reader, what should i do with Nick Riewoldt? Should i keep him as a loophole or trade to stefan martin and save the money? I had Riewoldt from the start and are running low on trades 6 left. or sam loyd to stefan martin instead and bench riewoldt as a loophole? I only have 1 midfield left to upgrade. Thanks in advance
