Game Chat – Syd v Ess

Written by MJ on April 4 2015

The Swans shouldn’t require peptides to overcome a severely underdone Bombers outfit at ANZ stadium tonight. Conditions for the clash are poor at best; there are reports that over 30mm of rain has fallen at Homebush in the last 24 hours, which could play a pivotal role in the game. This will be the 216th clash between Sydney and Essendon, and whilst the Dons lead the head to head record overall (130 to 82, one draw) it’s been a different trend in recent games. The Swans have won the last four games against the bombers, highlighted by a 50 point drubbing in round nine last season.

Essendon can finally focus on playing football after the club was cleared by the AFL tribunal on March 31st. James Hird will be eager to rebuild his public image and complete the job he started, for too long his name has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. ASADA may launch an appeal against the AFL’s verdict, but for now it’s time for the Bombers to embark on their 2015 campaign. It won’t be an easy ordeal; Sydney will be looking for retribution after their insipid display in the Grand Final last season. Essendon’s senior list has had next to no pre season (a result of the ASADA investigation) and will struggle to come up against a tough Swans outfit in the wet. Kick off is 4.30pm (AEST).

Justin’s tip: Sydney by 23 points.

  4. Got a dilemma with 2 spots in midfield left

    Pendlebury + someone $581,800?
    Or
    2 of anyone under $622,000? (Beams/ward/priddis/Sloane/Sidebottom/Lewis?
Already got Fyfe Selwood Parker wines

  5. Guys, a question for the night matches later on:

Should I keep Naitanui at R2 or go to Goldstein for R2?

Can easily make a quick swap, salary isn’t an issue for the rest of this Rd.

  7. Bad bad start for the swans who, contrary to their namesake, hate the wet.

Parker vc in scttl is looking good.

  8. Is anyone else having trouble with their sc app? It’s not displaying my team, meaning I can’t trade or switch players onto the bench

I’m wondering if I’ve done something to the settings, or if there’s been a gremlin in the system?

  9. Big Alert, community.

Tom Lamb has been handed the SUB vest for tonight against the Dogs.

Who to replace him now down forward with the remaining teams this round?

  11. Luke Parker injured with a horrific head knock, blood pouring from the wound. Seems okay but won’t take any further part in the game you’d think
