SUMMARY

The Swans return to Friday night footy for the first time this season to welcome the Crows to the SCG, and there’s little doubt the visitors will be itching for the ball to be bounced after last week’s shock loss to Collingwood at home. Adelaide key defender Daniel Talia will resume his long-running battle with Sydney superstar Lance Franklin and if his midfielders don’t increase their work rate in round five, he could be in for a tough night. The Swans have had a good spread of contributors this season and Oliver Florent, Dean Towers, Callum Sinclair and Harry Cunningham are some of the lesser lights to have stepped up in important moments alongside Franklin, Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker and Isaac Heeney. It’s hard to see the Crows kicking a winning score without skipper Taylor Walker and Josh Jenkins finding some form against the miserly Sydney defence, but if Sam Jacobs can control the ruck duel with Sinclair, they’re a chance to at least to get enough scoring opportunities.

Thommo’s Tip: Sydney by 25 points.

  4. Great “expert” commentary from BT… is there any other commentator who can look out at a one-on-one defence and call it a zone?

  5. The list managers at the Crows are genius.

Let Doedee bide his time in the SANFL.

Then offload Lever to the Dees for draft picks…..and Salary Cap space!!

    The kid is a gun!

    # Keeper.

    1. Yep I don’t understand what has happened to Parker since round one. He just goes missing during games. He is looking like a mistake as M5.

  9. Not SuperCoach relevant but McGovern is having an absolute shocker. Tex(who is having a good game after all the criticism)has been trying to bring him into the game but he just can’t handle the ball cleanly or hit a target.

    1. Indeed. I’m surprised his score is as high as 50 – the number of times that he has fumbled has been mind-boggling.

  10. Starting Billings ahead of Heeney is possibly the worst move I’ve ever made in Supercoach. And believe me, it’s a hot field

      1. I nearly made the same mistake but started with both instead. Saw Heeney’s 97 avg from 20 disposals per game and couldn’t ignore it despite worrying that he finished last year underwhelmingly. There’s every chance Billings will find form, history has shown he’s an up and down patchy player. He’ll go on to frustrate those who’ve traded him and those who will continue to own him.

  12. Happy with Heeney, Laird and Doedee(!!).

Only good part about Franklin was I pulled the VC off him last minute – had a shocker!

        1. Anything over 130+ would normally be locked in. Anything between 120-130 is a gut call…….could go either way…….

          1. This. I had VC on Laird last week and he got 128 odd, and I took the risk with Dusty.

140+ is a lock for me. 130+ is a good hard think.

    1. Didn’t take Lairds 129 last week, and he ended up being my highest scorer for the round.

Normally have cut off of 130, but without a current perma-captain, reckon I’d bank 120 at the moment.

  13. Dear Champion Data,

Can you please scale Laird’s 111 to 120 so that I don’t have to think about the captaincy?
