It’s probably one of the biggest decisions I’ll have to make this year, pick Gary Ablett and spend a decent chunk of change on him or grab a few decent 350k players instead.
He’s bound to score well and picking him would offset his selection by many opponents throughout the year but I’m starting to think, after a convo with Motts yesterday, there’s better options … I just need to find them.
The job has been made easier thanks to blokes like Tappy for some great info in the comments of previous posts, I’ll be analysing all suggestions closer over the coming weeks. Cheers mate.
Bring on the NAB cup next Friday where all players will be closely scrutinised. 7 days and counting!

im so undecided about picking up gaz…..he is a lock for captain everyweek prolly score you about 300(as captain) its alot of points……..but its sooo much money!

As a St. Kilda supporter, my bias factor is telling me that Montagna (almost 100 grand cheaper, second most expensive) will have a bumper year.
Whether this remains to be true or not is yet to be seen, but I think the Saints will be hungry and Montagna will be a huge point scorer, so much so, I have an Ablett-less team.
Surely, Gazza can’t have a 2009 every year, right? If he does, I can’t imagine how many Brownlows he would pick up. I am thinking he will get points, but I dunno if they will be to the scale of last year

It’s matter of combining the points of the 2 players you can get too, GA and the cheaper players score versus the 2 higher priced players, that where I see the decision needs to be made. Good luck with the no Ablett team.
