  1. Score: 2186 (Selwood C)
    Won the grand final 2186-2072
3 Donuts (opponent also had 3)

    Selwood’s 176 was awesome
    Griffen’s (189) sealed the win
Ranked about 20kish but I was only playing the for the league win. Next year I might go for overall

  2. 2171/Scott Pendlebury/2 Doughnuts/Overall Rank TBC

Lost my Grand Final by 67 points, solely because I was out when the Brisbane v Fremantle teams were announced. I had the VC on Scott Pendlebury and C on Tom Rockliff, while my opponent managed to change his C to Joel Selwood.

Was actually quite happy with almost everyone’s score this week, with the exception of Scott Pendlebury (88), Shannon Hurn (53) and Cameron Shenton (21). Had no cover for Tom Rockliff or Dayne Zorko.

Was hoping for a Grand Final win to kick things off for my 18th tomorrow, but it wasn’t to be.

As this will probably be my last post until at least after my final VCE exam, I would like to thank everyone; every member here on SuperCoach Talk for their advice, kindness and overall community feel. It’s little communities like this that really retain their members on a regular basis, and it is no wonder why this site is truly the best out there. It’s been an honour to service all the coaches here, as often as I can, with Team Announcements and Quarterly Score Updates.

Again, thank you to everyone, and I’ll catch you all at the start of the next SuperCoach season !

  4. 2156/Selwood/2/TBC

Not sure how to feel. Won the two minor grand finals that I was in, but the feeling is similar to what I felt after Essendon’s draw yesterday; just a bit hollow.

I also have no idea what a good score is this round with all the late outs. Hoping to rise 127 in the overall rankings to make top 2500 at least.

  5. 2326/Selwood/2 Doughnuts/TBC

Won the one grand final I was in and hopefully will move up a little in the rankings from 425th. Been a rather disappointing last month slipping from just outside the top 100 to 400th odd,but glad to finally get a decent score even with Zorko and Franklin pulling out.

  6. Pretty nice week to get my second highest score for the year!!

2523/Duckwood/no Donuts/Overall be stiff not rise above 42nd.

Norm Smith Medallist was Duckwood with Jimmy Bartel second.
Other heroes were Sauce, Mitch, Malcescki and Caddy who all got over 120.
Tonning blokes who helped win all three Major Grannies were the Swallow bros, Irish, Parker, Libba, and Danger with a huge mention to Obrien for Rocky coverage.

Solid performances from Jaensch, Dusty and Sandi, with spud ding efforts from Pendles, Dollhouse, Omeara and Shenton (Zorko cover).

Sat McVeigh on the bench and I reckon first time for the year where I got it right!

  7. 2334/Selwood (3 doughnuts) Overall TBC was 4500ish.

I won a major grand final by 500pts in a top 200 league with everyone falling over going too hard with trades and won it from 7th place. I won the minor grand final in SCT2. I lost another grand final by 15pts I needed Swallow and
Mumford to outscore Hurn and Dahlhouse today and just fell short.

A big improvement in my second year of supercoach after finishing 20,000ish last year. My goal this year was to finish in the top 5000 overall and achieved it just , but still made some bad trades and coaching moves.
    Bring on supercoach finals.

  8. 2161/4 donuts/ Selwood/ 107

3 premierships from 4 leagues. Donuts from Rocky, Zorko, Cameron, Ward + Boomer & Beams sitting out the last couple. Not to mention Dal Santo starting sub??

3 worst trades of the year, Dal Santo in mid year because of the Kangas run home. Jaensch over Hanley around the same time, and probably Priddis in with my last trade instead of Lewis or Greene 2 rounds to go.

Hoping this last one doesn’t cost me a top 100 berth…

  9. 2277/Gray. Managed to win my cash league. Unfortunately i feel like i pulled a Bradbury with my opponent loosing Murphy Rockliff Zorko and Dal santo as a sub.
Cheers to all at Supercoachtalk for another smashing year.
    Go Dons!!

  11. 2137 / Jacobs / 2 doughnuts / 173 o/a

The 2 doughnuts & having to play Shenton from late outs from Marc Murphy, Zorko & Buddy (on top of Stevie J & Beams already being out) hurt me, but Selwood, Sloan, Jacobs etc kept score reasonable.

Was 120 o/a this week & very happy with 173 o/a after copping the 0’s.

Great season & as per always SCT has played a major part. Thank you everyone involved in the site. Every bad decision was made on my own (Scott D. Thompson etc). Loved the SCT podcast when we had them, would be happy getting involved next year if team up 2 or 3 people per state (I’m from Adelaide) on rotation to take pressure off Motts & MJ which they then review / cut down prior to posting.

  12. 2207/Jacobs/3 donuts/1796

Well, despite 3 donuts this week, a solid end to the season. Thanks to Duckwood, Roughy, Sauce Jacobs, LeCras, Hanley, Parker, Jimmy B & K Simpson for giving respectability to my undermanned lineup. Goddard the lowlight this week, but most others getting par.
2014 studs for me (in terms of players traded in) were Sauce Jacobs, Callan Ward, with Stefan Martin making the podium as well. All great contributors & great value. Sandi, Beams & Duckwood the pick of the starting team.
2014 duds (in order of shitness) were Montagna, Wingard, then daylight, with a special mention to JPK. Great players all three, but as far as SC is concerned, I consider them scum. Destroy me when I don’t have them, burn me when I do.
Lessons learnt from 2014: MUST have 8 trades going into finals. MUST start with a better team. Avoid speculative mid-pricer trades (e.g. the Jackson Merret experiment). Don’t piss off the SC gods, or they WILL roger your team at the most inopportune time.
Farewell SC 2014. Bring on 2015.

  13. After a while, I started getting better results with my SCTTL team, so focused on that more for the 2nd half of the season.

Ended up WINNING the overall SCTTL competition by nearly 900 points (bit of a pat on the back there), and managed to get up to an overall ranking of 1,343!!!

Can’t wait for SCTTL 2015!!! Thanks again to all of those at SCT for putting this league / concept together.

Won all 5 Grand Finals for an overall result of 612th…….my best SC Season ever! Thanks to all on this site, you guys sure know your stuff! Bring on 2015!!

  15. LoEC1 league ended off being 18th o/a in league standings.

SCT Cash ended off being 48th o/a in league standings.

Some seriously good SC players on here, well done for all of our SCT leagues.

Thanks to Selwood, Sloane Bartel and Greene on debut

  17. 2408, selwood(loophole) 2 donuts. 278 overall.
Won five leagues and achieved my highest ranking yet.
Great scores all round especially selwood, Sloane, Greene on debut, Lewis, Gray, parker,
Goddard and Pendles were the only let downs, apart from the late outs.
I had two trades for this round with Ward and Kennedy to trade out.(one on bench) Friday night I traded in Buddy for a bench loophole with S Martin who I thought was a risk with Luenburger selected. Come Saturday and Buddy is a late out and then both Rockliff and Zorko. I thought I had blown it but moved the vc to selwood from rocky and used my last trade on ward to green with good results. Wish I had waited for final teams with the buddy trade as I could have saved a donut and finished a bit higher overall, but lesson learnt(again)
Thankyou to all here at SCT for all the information and advice.

  18. 2322/Joelwood/1/224

Not a bad year overall final placing, although down from 146 last year. Can’t seem to get finals right. Had a 3 trades going into finals (which was 3 more than last year!), but the hits just kept on coming. Must have had at least a dozen in game injuries over the course of the year which I think is extraordinary. Only made one grand final and lost it.

Also, 7th overall in SCTTL and won my work cash tipping (and equal first with MJ on SCT however think he got me by 14 points on the margin!).

And good luck to the Hawks against those nasty Cats!

  19. 2498/Selwood/1 Donut (Buddy). 16 100+ scores
911 for round, highest ever, 16,430 overall
Stoked as haven’t done SC since 2006 and was supposed to be a casual return. Would have won GF but mucked up last week and didn’t VC Gray as planned (was looking at houses) so lost prelim by 40
Season heroes were S Martin and Malceski – just awesomely reliable scorers. Special PoD mention to Treloar
Thanks for the season all at SC talk, see you next year!

  21. 2433/Pendles/ 1 donut (Rocky)/ 62nd O/A

The years 1st donut finally eventuated, with Rocky not coming up, the double whammy was having him as captain with only Fyfe and Stevie J as cover..

Amazing year managing 62nd, with mid season trades of Caddy and Stefan Martin being highlights! Being able to somewhat avoid the carnage was also key.

    Thanks again all!

  22. 2284 / Selwood / 1 donut (Zorko) / 4614 overall

Could’ve been 2359 if Zorko had pulled out earlier through Minson/Martin and some DPP shuffles but can’t complain. With the help of SCT, I managed my highest overall ranking and managed to crack the top 5000, very happy about that! Considering I’ve barely seen three quarters of footy this year (and overseas), I think its a decent effort. Disappointed I didn’t take out any premierships despite ranking highly in a number of leagues. My first two week of finals just weren’t good enough, got bundled out in straight sets everywhere.

Best trade-ins for the year: Callan Ward, Stefan Martin & Joel Selwood
Worst trade-ins: Dane Swan, Nick Dal Santo & Will Minson

Thank you to the SCT community for all the help (and laughs) during the course of the season. Wouldn’t have been half as competitive without it, that’s for damn sure! Looking forward to EPL fantasy game and the Punters Club during the off-season.

Didn’t know where else to say this but……..how about those Tigers?? Mocked, ridiculed and written off after being 3-10 and sitting equal-last on the ladder……to then make the finals……..beating the Swans in Sydney to complete 9-in-a-row……..just awesome. We haven’t had much to cheer about over the last 32 years. It’s been a crazy ride this season, nothing to lose next week………..GO TIGERS!!!

  23. Scored 1957 – Selwood and somehow won my gf. 2 wins in 2 seasons now so happy. Had 5 donuts but so did my opponent. Late outs of rocky murphy zorko franklin and with kennedy and stevie j not getting up hurt but luckily opponent affected the same. Big thanks to the sc community this season. All the advice given has been a big help. Cant wait for next season now and hopefully beat my top 2000 placing. Cheers all once again.

  24. 2061/pendles (VC)/4 donuts/12788
    disastrous grand final-
zorko, rocky, franklin and suckling (no sub) all donuts and boomer on the pine, even after trading out JPK and johnson. went with my gut and bought in dal santo (i know everyone said said thumbs down to that), who then went on to be the sub against the demons and to top it all off my VC was on pendles who failed to crack the ton!
my fault really, in hindsight i left my bench perilously thin and i paid the price- won’t happen again next year!

  25. 2484 / Joelwood / 0 (Ambrose to the rescue) / 3600

Won 2/5 leagues, but unfort bundled out in prelim in my two cash leagues. Aim was to get inside top 5,000 (just missed last year), so aim next year is for top 1000. Ripping site lads, thanks for your efforts. Cheers.

  26. Won two grannys, don’t know how only scored 2125. Had Kennedy, Beams, Rockcliff, Zorko & Buddy out. Could cover one with McCarthy but had to cop the other 4. I would of traded Beams last week but I used my last trade on Fyfe. Massive thank you to the entire team at SCT. You guys are amazing!

  27. 2307/Parker.

Won 4 grannies, losing one to double d who had selwood as captain which saved his bacon.

I’ll call that a pretty successful finish.

Ended up clawing back into top 5000 and over 50, 000 points for the season.

Pretty happy with score i guess,Zorko and Buddy doughnuts suck plus trading Murphy over Deledio costing me few hundred points, also had Stevie J on bench. I got koed in all my leagues last week but finished in top 10k, i guess way worse than last year were i finished rank 332 but all is in good fun.

Won my 2 GF’S. Mitchell, Birchall, Smith, Selwood, Ellis and Parker were great or very good. Watson and Pendles my lowest scorers apart from NDS.

I love this game but can’t seem to get anywhere near you guys. Thank you for the enormous amount of work you main guys do and to everyone else for their tips and input.

  31. 2438/Selwood (Zorko donut)

Finished the season at an overall ranking of 620.

Took out the Grand Final against my brother by 104 points. Will print the certificate out, frame it and hang it in the pool room. Was also able to take out the Nuffie Grand Final in LoEC3 by 134, which was a small consolation for just missing the 8.

Thanks to the community for making 2014 such an enjoyable season. It is so fantastic to hear so many success stories above. Bring on SC Finals and FPL!

amazingly, last Friday, just to rib my opponent, I told him that I heard Rockliff and Zorko were going to be late outs , very eerie when that occurred !! Ended up winning by over 320 odd points so their inclusions wouldvey made it interesting, getting withdrawals already, fun stuff starts with rumours of trades, are we getting a thread for that ? thanks goes to all at SCT..Cheers

First year ever playing supercoach so I’m pretty happy with that. Also the first half of the season I was travvelling around Canada and America pulling in to every macca’s I could to try and check what was happening with my team, didn’t make it easy!
But big thanks to everyone on this site, legends!
