Goodes No Good

by Duck on May 7, 2012

With the news Adam Goodes is out for 6 weeks many of us have a decision to make.

With a budget of the same value, in the $500′s, who do you trade him out for? Or, if you’re cashed up …. tick the correct box and let us know what big name you’re going after in the comments.

I’m actually thinking of holding him, IF I was to trade I’d look at sidebottom or patty.

GAJ still pretty pricey. Might need a Van Gogh.

I think Goodes will make way for one or perhaps will squeeze in both over the course of the week. Can’t hurt to have a bit of bench cover scoring well!

Hawks fixture opens up over the next few weeks so keep Whitecross plus no point sideways trading a quasi-premium that isn’t injured. Whereas second option gives you great cash cow with scoring potential plus alot of money.

Contact between Hawthorn’s Lance Franklin and St Kilda’s Nick Riewoldt from the second quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. Riewoldt was involved in a marking contest before the ball has come to ground.

The ball is cleared forward by Riewoldt’s teammate Rhys Stanley and, as Riewoldt is preparing to move down field, he is bumped by Franklin.

After receiving a medical report, there was no forceful high contact made to the head/ neck region. It was the view of the panel the force used in the contact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence.

Cant be arsed looking em up right now but heard it said a couple of weeks back (Footy Utopia I think) that GAJ smashes it in his return games. We are all football tragics and he is just the same I reckon, but he gets to actually play the game for real and when he hasn’t had 30+ touches every second day he’d be bouncing off the walls.

Hey springfield
IMO it depends on what premos you have and what rookies you have and lets not forget the dreaded injuries you may have.
Im actually keepin goodes and plan on trading him out next week.

I just got in treloar so I’m a bit hasty on Adams
Thinking maybe goodes>beams then magner>horsely
Then the following week either Morris/milera/kennedy/shiel/coniglio ripe for an upgrade

Goodes is gone!

Thumbs up – Get Horsely and lose my DPP

Thumbs Down – Get Adams, keep my DPP

Same quandary for myself.
Currently have 1 DPP in mids & 5 in forwards. Worked well so far, however to get Horsely into mids i’ll have to trade out IMO not ripe cash cows in Magner (BE26), Greene (BE -17) or Coniglia (BE-9) or lose DPP link for a couple of weeks.

Is six weeks to to leave him on the pine? I might struggle this week, but I’ve got a trade plan so in the next 2 weeks I will have 4 upgrades (maybe even 5-6 over 3 weeks) so i will have enough cover by then. If im really struggling i might reevaluate in a week or two and trade him then. He wont lose cash by not playing and is at a decent price to trade out for if need be. Goodes is someone I’d like in my final team, and I don’t think I’ll be able to spare another trade to bring him in.

Thumbs up- If you have faith in your plan benno and get cover, worth keeping him

Thumbs down- 6 weeks is waaaaaay to long to keep him on the pine trade him out!

Thanks guys :)

Ok guys I’m not going to trade him this week, but I’ll take another look at the possibilty of trading him out next week, I think that I’ve managed to find a way to fit him into my 4-5 week ‘trade plan’ but if I think I can manage without him for a few more weeks then I won’t trade him :)

Thanks for your input to those that voted :)

What about Bundy, is he going under the radar?
Geelong games until the bye is: Adelaide, Collingwood, Bulldogs, GWS, Carlton
He loves big games, will dominate the Dogs and GWS’s because he goes about his business unsuspected and rack’s up the possessions = SC Points
Thoughs and Thumbs
