  1. Ive been waiting for this poll!
I wont vote because i havent decided yet.

Was going murphy but then realised his avgs for the last 2 years are in the 70’s 🙁

  2. Due to lack of premiums in the backline and lack of cash in the kitty I’m going bob Murphy. Not double trading to get someone who isn’t a must have

  3. Heath shaw seems like the obvious pick, playing and scoring well, but I right downgrade him next week to a rookie and jump on okeefe at only 400k this week decisions decisions

  4. I’m looking at Heater, Adcock, Scotland, Newman, Carrots, Bob or Enright.
Scotland looks a good option. Consistent, strong numbers, and maybe a good POD.
I wanted to do a straight swap into Heater but Grimes depreciated $600 too much, so the big decision for me this week is do I want to make the second trade or not.

  5. This is a tough one for me. Not sure if I burn two trades or just the one. I only have 10k in bank. So with Grimes at 382,700 I can one trade to R Murphy, Carrazzo, S Gilbert and Gilbee. Not 100% solid on any of them though….

thinking burn two trades to get either Shaw or Delidio…

  6. Problem with Carrots and Scotland is you bring them in for bye.

Bob Murphy has scarred me before. I’ve got Shaw. I like Enright but don’t want too many Cats come finals time.

Maybe Adcock. No lack of ball down there.

  7. I didn’t have Grimmes, so happy about that… but was looking to upgrade one of my backmen this week or next and I’m leaning towards Newman or Broughton…. Broughton price has almost dropped suficiently, and I’d obviously be backing a turnaround in form.

  8. I like thinking outside the square, so might look into the 2 Harry’s and see how they compare. Other than that, Shaw is on the radar and might look into Gilbee or Adcock.
Grimes cost me a victory. I lost by 19 points 🙁

  9. I like the way my back rookies (Heppell, Lower) are going, they’re often doing better than the premiums (Gibbs, Broughton, etc) so how about:

    1) Grimes – Alex Johnson (3 games, 147K av. 60 – DPP, to swap with McKernan up forward), and

    2) Curnow – Boyd, a definite top 6 midfielder (I already have Swan/Pendles)

I have the 5K in the bank I need to do this Curnow-Boyd upgrade, but downgrading from Grimes to Puopolo would make it a given for anyone.

With this double trade I would complete my mids: Swan, Pendles, Selwood, Boyd, Judd, Pavlich (Harris, Hibberds, Irons)

  10. As a POD – Mark Nicoski.

His average is much the same (77 vs Grimes’ 78), his BE is 1 this week and he’s 100K less.

    Thoughts?

  13. Shaw gets tagged out of games and agaunst better teams i think he will struggle. I think grundy is a great option starting to score nicely after an initial price drop and doesnt have bye until round 19

  14. Omen has a brain injury. The stress of the Monday night game and the Blues trying their best to lose against the Saints, the injury to Curnow and Grimes out for the season!!

Will rest for a couple of days and come back to this dilemna with a fresh head around Thursday.

Glad the Blues can’t lose this weekend. Phew!!

  15. I was reluctant to load up my team with too many pies, but taking a look at the fixture for my cash league in round thirteen it’s an easy win. If i grab Shaw I avoid a bye in the finals with Enright, but it means an easy win for Aneeqa in SCT2 when I’ll have 3-4 premiums out.

  17. Curnow —> I.Smith
    and
    Grimes —> H.Shaw

    or

    Grimes —> Puopolo/Hibberd
    and
    Curnow —> Priddis/Mundy

    Thumbs Up – 1
Thumbs Down – 2 (and also who out of the two options)

Plus I have a pretty weak back lone so leaning towards 1. But want to get my midfield sorted out and finalized for the season. 🙂

I know the saints aren’t the flavour of the month but could be a POD?

  21. im double trading, gettting laidler out first for either mackie or harry obrien, and then trading grimes out for gibson, that way i get two decent players.

  22. I’ve been looking at the BE’s and come up with 5 left-of-fields:

H Taylor (prob not too left, and my likely trade) – $319k BE 36. dropped a massive $104k, He put in 3 shockers in a row after his massive first round 142, but his last 2 of 100 and 82 put him back in good stead.

M Suckling – $349k BE 58. If he gets back from injury, could be a good unique. With 2 scores over 111, a 96 and two in the 60’s, could be well worth it. Especially if the hawks find form.

J Gwilt – $323k BE 70. I know, a strange one, but I liked what I saw yesterday, with the exception of one dropped mark. Average of 71, last 3 game average 77. Someone has to start playing well for the saints sooner or later, right?

T Richards – $347k BE 71. I swear, I think this is good value! Only putting in 1 shocker of a 38, Paul Roos, former coach, saying he’s in the best form of his life, and an average of 75, but with the last 3 games nearly 92, could be the perfect replacement of Grimes.

N Smith – $336k – 59. Averaging 81, coming off his 1st 100+ for the year, Swans looking sharp, yeah, why not?

  23. i dun wanna get taylor or mackie cos cats bye in finals and im afraid i might run out of trades by then. who has byes in finals? When I know who has the bye in finals ill calculate who in my team has to be traded, then I’ll make a decision on whether to get taylor or obrien.

  24. Harry Taylor at 300k don’t think u can go wrong, he’s finding some form and will probably see a lot of it against the pies, can’t wade for lake and hodge to find some form, both so cheap and getting cheaper every week Just like Kim duthie lol

  25. No real need to swap burgs (have faith) and you also want to get in a player who has a bye during sc finals. Think about it a bit!

  26. G’day All,

The same conundrum as many, but the main problems are that:

    1. Grimes HAS to go, and will be upgraded to, say, Adcock (cost approx. $80,000)
    2. Higgins ‘should’ go, and will be upgraded to, say, Pavlich (cost approx. $100,000)
    3. Curnow should go, but there’s no genuine MID rookies on the bubble yet (possibly I. Smith as MID/FWD DPP) (save approx. $200,000).

The problem is what to do THIS round, and what to do NEXT round. I’m thinking of hanging onto Higgins (again), as I’m about $1,000 short of affording Pavlich. So I can upgrade Grimes this week, and leave Curnow for another week (as he has the BYE), then NEXT week downgrade Curnow and upgrade Higgins (if he’s still out).

I’m not sure if this all makes sense, so apologies in advance.

    Thoughts?

  27. Considering the Grimes/Curnow dilemma. Have plenty of cash in bank so was looking at upgrading both

    Grimes to Shaw

Curnow to Mundy – however i already have Fyfe, Pav, Sandi & Lower. Not gonna win the overall so should assist in the league; however if Freo go on the nose then i could be exposed to some lower scores?

Will be able to add Swan in a few weeks once his BE gets lower.

Thumbs Up – Go for Mundy
    Thumbs Down – forget it

  29. okay, I know that everyone has been saying upgrade mids over backs, but in my situation, I think j might be different.

Back – Gibbs, Goddard, Grimes (!!!), Hurley, Heppell, Toy, Pederson, Otten, A.Johnson

Midfield – Swan, Pendlebury, Boyd, Selwood, Harris, Liberatore, Curnow (!!!), D.Swallow, Pittard

    My options are

    Grimes —> Shaw
    leaves me with about $72,200
    or

    Grimes —> Puopolo
    Curnow —> Mundy/Priddis
    leaves me with about $205,000

If I do the second one, the week after I can trade a defender cash cow out and use extra money to buy shaw after he has gone down in price a bit.

  30. Need a downgrade. Thinking Matera might be the best option (ahead of Tappy, Darling, Krak, Libba, Swallow, McKernan, Lower).

Who to go to though?? At this stage I’m thinking Alex Johnson. What’s everyone’s thoughts on his scoring potential and JS? Anyone else you think might be a better bet. Possibly Lynch after a big effort but key forward in a shit is always a worry.

Also, who dares me to play Isaac Smith ahead of Dids this weekend????

  31. I’m so tempted.

I reckon the Cats might get up and Dids will have a shocker. Especially if it’s wet and a tough in and under game.

Got a feeling we might beat up the Saints on Sunday too and Smithy will carry a lot a confidence in after last week.

I won’t have the balls to do it but now that I’ve put it out there I can at least say “I told me so!”
