Hartlett?

Written by Big Sexy on May 29 2013

I’m not convinced about Hartlett or Port….. but if I wasn’t backed into a corner last week with defensive omissions and forced to trade I’d probably be taking a gamble on Hartlett this week.  He’s at $409k, Ave 90 and BE 75.  Where are you at with Hartlett?

If you’ve already got him, what would be your answer if you didn’t.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. I think I traded him out the week he scored 30! Only problem was I traded him for Birchall who then duly scored 29 and then a late omission. Does anyone know whether he is a chance to miss this week?

  2. Maybe after his bye. I’m looking at a double downgrade to cash up for the byes. Would be a handy D6/D7 at that price

  3. A lot of people are very quick to criticise Hartlett. People forget he’s a 22 year old kid in a bottom 4 side copping a hard tag week in week out. Definitely on my radar.

  5. I’ve had him on the radar for a while, but I think that he will just miss out on my squad.

I already have Goddard, Gibbs, H Shaw and Heppell locked away and Birchall will definitely be coming in after his bye. That leaves only one more spot as a premium defender (as I’m happy to have Vlastuin covering short injuries/suspension/restings for the rest of the season) and I’m finding it hard to ignore the way that a certain Irish half-back flanker/winger is playing.

So close, but not quite for Hamish.

  6. Is Gwilt a better choice in than Hartlett?

He is also ~400K with an Avg. of 99, Round 12 bye provides better coverage and should have a reasonable next month with Melbourne in Round 13…

  7. Have had him since rd1. Kid is an ansolute star. In the game against west coast i couldnt believe what he was doing. Problem is that hinkley has been shoving him at full back all too often and has really struggled. Dont know if thats from a lack of a proper tank or if he is trying to escape the tag but thats the difference. He goes through stretches of scoring almost nothing for 15 minutes but then will have 10 touches scoring 40 or so in no time. If he starts to get more time in the midfield he will be one of the best sc players in the league. For 400k id definitely recommend him

  8. Few weeks I will have brought in Gibbs and Birchall so my DEF would be:
Goddard,Shaw, Gibbs, Birchall, Heppell, Goodes (Vlastuin, Webster)

I’m picking Goodes over Hartlett atm.
