Harvey v Goodes

by Motts on July 24, 2012

I reckon this poll has gotten a run every year for the last 3 years. Given their similar averages/prices its time to poll it again. Who would you take out of these 2 champions of the game right now?

Goodes a bit more consistent, gets a solid score even when tagged, and can pull massive scores on his day.

Goodes for me

Maybe Goodes just, at this stage of their careers…. So long as Goodes doesn’t go permanent forward…. I’d suggest whoever spends more time in the midfield will do better. Worth noting Goodes is headed for a price dip after two poor scores.

Goodes by a mile for me, more points to winning sides and I think the Roos are still a year away from a proper finals run. Boomer forced into retirement next year?

Totally unrelated, but I caught a crackhead breaking into the Mrs car last night and gave him a wallop and his tooth cut my hand. Should I be worried about Dying a slow AIDS related death? Doctors today at 3 just to be sure.

That reminds me. I think he’s served enough time in pergatory now. Time for Flaggy to come off the Banned list.

Quack reassured me it’s almost impossible to get aids from Punching a crackhead. Yay me, back to the slow alcohol related death like a normal person.

Harvey’s still a gun but he now plays as a true mid/fwd more so than as a midifelder like he has over the last 5-8 years.

Interestingly though, North’s resurgence hasn’t really been Boomer led.

As for his playing future, i’m in no doubt he’ll play on next year as a permanent fwd. Having him and Thomas roving at the feet of Petrie, Tarrant and Hansen allows North to use Harper’s pace and slick skills up in the midfield. In other words, Boomer is important structurely.

Shame about his wife… good for Supercoach though!

From a bloke that has had boomer all year (I actually thought that stepping aside from the captaincy would help him), I have to say Goodes. Boomer has been a very frustrating player as far as Supercoach goes. As Roo Bloke mentions above, he is very important for them structurely because he takes the best tagger each week and frees up the other blokes like swallow, wells etc.

He shouldn’t be taking the best tagger though. Wells is our most consistent and damaging midfielder. I’m quite happy for opposition clubs to get it wrong but Wells is the guy i’d be sending a tagger to, not Boomer.

Has to be Goodes but I’m still worried with him being pushed out of the midfield with the rest of them flying. Can’t see him taking the backseat he has over the last two weeks for the rest of the year though.
