Poll – Hold Or HeaveHo?

Written by Schwarzwalder on June 28 2017

PJ & Nateo asked the question of Fyfe & Sandilands in our Polling Station on Monday.  Please help them out as best you can………..

Nat Fyfe is becoming a regular in these polls, never a good sign!  Many Coaches have already parted ways with the Brownlow Medalist yet he is still in over 40% of teams.  He was averaging 88 pts over the past seven weeks before missing the Geelong game with a bruised sternum.  Can he come good?  Or is Fyfe coming back to the pack in a hurry this season?  What would you do with Nat Fyfe?

Another typical case of FURL with Sandilands.  ‘Hamstring tightness’ was the official line a month ago when in fact he’s had ‘hamstring tendon inflammation’.  I know what I would’ve done five weeks ago if I’d heard the words ‘hamstring tendon inflammation’ in the same sentence with Sandilands.  As it stands though, he still features in nearly a quarter of all teams.  What would you advise those Coaches to do?

  1. Fyfe a definite hold for me as can be loopholed in a few weeks when everyone gets Selwood.

The other problem Sandi has apart from his on going injury risk is that there is talk he will share ruck duties with Darcy.

      1. Will only believe it when I see the finalised team sheets 90mins before the bounce and even then I’ll still be skeptical.

  2. My plan has been to hold in the hopes that Gawn would be back and with his high break even for the first couple of weeks would come down enough to trade for big Maxy.
Not sure of his exact score on the weekend but he looked good, fingers crossed

    1. Gawn’s 3 full games have scored him 128, 111 and 113 so I think it’s safe to assume he should score around 110. If that’s the case this week, he will drop to about $520k and will have a BE of 82 so this is probably the cheapest he will become. Might be worth looking to find a way to make the trade happen next week.

  4. Traded both Sandi and Fyfe out, don’t wont any more ‘FURL’ moments for the remainder of the year.

          1. Sandilands was never permanent, he made his $150k and was only an extra $50 to upgrade to S.Martin – moving him on was easy.

I do worry about Fyfe banging out a 150 but I replaced him with Dusty, who is in the prime of his career. He’s more than paid his dues given it saved me a 0 in the byes.

From a SC point of view, it would have been nice if the club came out 6 weeks ago and said he had a bruised sternum and was playing with a guard on. Nothing was said to protect him from being targeted which is understandable and the right call from the clubs perspective.

  5. If got to round 15 and did not have Fyfe in my team, I would think it an early Christmas to get him for $481k.
