How Did You Go?

Written by MJ on July 26 2015

With The Great Gary Ablett succumbing to injury early in the match, there is going to be some large discrepancies in scoring this round, especially with many slapping the captaincy on him.

Were you on the good end of the stick?

A strange weekend. Obviously those of us that traded a premium for GAJ have upset the supercoach gods. For mine, I traded Wines for GAJ instead of Oxley for Hodge – Ouch. Just to rub in the error of my breaking the rules, horse (who seems to listen to the gods more than me) decides to make Mitchell the sub. My bad, I humbly apologise and ask for forgiveness.

    4/4 League wins
Couldn’t loophole Lamberts 103 so could have been better, Buddy was covered by Caleb Daniel and looking at some of the Swans scores I probably came out in front…
I have one solitary trade left and Gazza to move on, serious thinking to be done in the next week!

  3. 2305, was looking really good until the sydney game where I had franklin a late out with no emergency, and Titch start as sub. Also copped a 50 from Rocky and a few other below par performances. But could of been worse if I owned ablett.

Should see a meteoric rise in the overall with that score. Maybe I’ll crack the 10k after all!

    Positives:
A lot of my PODs did well this week, namely Hooker, Picken & Wallis. Bennell and Selwood did awesome on return and Kelly was great on debut at a cheap as chips price.

    Negatives:
Buddy and Beams were both late outs and my bench coverage was Steele and Cripps. Maric scored terribly and Downie actually outscored him at R3.

6 in a row in LoEC3 but think it’ll amount to nothing as I started too far back.

    7/10 league wins & 9/9 tips!

On a side note, it’s a long week in football Bearded Burblers, bit of luck in the end for Catta’s Clan with Buddy ruled out giving me 103 ( Lambert ) from the bench & Mitchell starting as the sub ( What the #%}{ horse? )

    Till finals Nemisis 😉

Considering i had GAJ & Tom Mitchell + Ziebel’s score I am not unhappy with that score. Wins in Cash League & LoEC1 (lucky one as opponent had a late out with Buddy). Loss in AB’s SCT league which had a huge amount of great scores, but a sprinkle of ghost ship type scores (1700) which is a shame as most other scores show why we had the No 1 league for a few weeks.
Thanks for the memories GAJ, onwards & upwards. Glad i missed out on getting Rocky last week after his spud score this week.

Brought in Ablett on Saturday just before the game. Damn. Hopefully it’s not one of those short-term injuries that drags out one more week, one more week… Otherwise I lucked out with Franklin a late out, so I could use Lambert’s 103! Happy I’ve held on the Selwood. He came very close to getting the boot if Beams’ shoulder wasn’t an issue. Otherwise some really nice performances, and a handful of undercooked. Should improve my overall ranking.

Ablett and Rocky last 2 ins hurt badly….and I held off all the way until 30 mins before kick off. Trades present troubled waters now.

Solid efforts from most of the team for a change. Just a shame about Ziebell, Rocky & especially GAJ.

  13. 2307/Hodge – 5058

Won 8 out of 10 league matches losing one by 16pts after getting Mckernans score for Franklin with him being a late out. Really can’t complain though as a lot of opponents had Mitchell and Gazza with one even having Hannebery as captain as well.

Have managed to move into 3rd spot in LOEC4 but I am in 4 stronger leagues than that one.

Pretty happy with it, considering what others put up with this week, I got off pretty easy with having the T-Mitch situation.

Didn’t have too many tons in there. 8/9 league wins and moved up in rankings but I feel it was just an average week. Could’ve gained 70 pts from better luck with my loopholes but can’t complain. Also benefited from many opponents with Gaz, Rocky and Mitchell. Say what you will about research and crunching the numbers, this game requires alot of luck. Firmly entrenched in finals in all leagues so saving my trades for that, all good!

Some sloppy coaching this weekend possibly alcohol related.
Traded gaz in saturday, just before the going in to the game, by the time i got there he was already injured! He now joins Sloane and Rocklif on my ‘ had them twice’ list. Could always trade him back to Sloane(who i only traded out last week) then i could start a I’ve had them three times list.
Managed to leave selwood on the bench with no emergency. Forgot to swap hodge into defence so i had to field pierce.
On the positive, won 4 of 7 matches and looking like making the 8 in all leagues.
    Also had a great weekend.

Ablett, Rockliff, Beams, Buddy and McDonald all going out of their way to stick it to me personally; what did I ever do to them?

I hope Beams rips out his bad arm and beats Rockliff up with it.

I had a nightmare of a round. Put it this way, if I played Lever, Steele, Lambert, Downie and Daniel instead of Docherty, Ablett, Rockliff, Maric and Mitchell I would have scored an extra 203, which would have made my score respectable.
Top 5 on field: Fyfe, Goldstien, Shaw, Goddard, Sidebottom.
Bottom 5 on field: Ablett, Mitchell, Rockliff, Docherty, Maric.

  20. 2183/GAJ

Somehow managed to crack the 2k with Brodie Smith outscoring GAJ + Rocky combined, and Buddy late out (covered by C. Daniel)

With 6 trades left, i was planning on making 2 trades this week: Mitch Clarke -> H. Goddard which would allow me to go Joel Hamling -> Heath Shaw (with Brodie Smith D7) – would’ve been set for the year, 4 trades left heading into the finals and all the DPP swing sets in place (inc. Def/Fwd with Higgins/Goddard)

Gee whizz!! Didn’t Saturday throw a massive spanner into the works!! Now i have no freaking idea what to do…GAJ has to go, but have a feeling in the back of my mind, anyone that i bring in will trip over in the warm-up and be out for the rest of the season!!! 🙁

So far thinking GAJ -> Priddis as the only trade this week
