How Did You Go?

Written by MJ on April 19 2015

Three weeks down. It’s been a pretty tough week with plenty of blue-chip stocks dishing out dividends lower than expected. We’d love to know how you fared.

Will welcome Sloane into the fold this week as the Ablett replacement but Bartel is a tougher proposition to replace if Bontempelli doesn’t come up.

Respectable compared to most I think. Will have to wait and see re Bartel and the extent of his injury.

Guess I got a little lucky avoiding some of the carnage this week, even with Wells and Bont being late withdrawals, nothing overly much to complain about!

Traded in Sauce Jacobs last week and hopefully his scores straighten out long term, and would love for Newnes to raise his disposal efficiency but other than that, smooth sailing this week!

Happy to be the top scorer in LoEC1 and undefeated in league matches for the first couple of rounds. Luckily managed to stay injury free which is good news in a tough round of footy

Very disappointing week from the likes of K.Simpson, R.Gray. Bontempelli as a late out meant that I had to field both J.Hogan and M.Clark. Brought in N.van Berlo and J.Kennedy this week for them to score 66 and 61 respectively. Also had A.Oxley, I.Heeney and T.Miller all on the bench.

Clark’s 71 came in handy when Bonts was a late out. Was 1,155 last week -hopefully can charge up the ranks.

  7. 1882/Fyfe/was 1698, reckon I’ll drop out of top 10,000
Can’t do anything with Simpson, Gibson, JPK, Bartel, Wines, Bont, Gray, Griffen and even Fyfe as captain.
Hope was that Cripps may come good, and Sloane from the start of the season was genius – can’t believe how few had him day 1

Having Bonts as a late out along with the disappointing scores of Simpson, Newnes and Gray hurt. Rookies didn’t fire like they did in previous weeks and once again I was left with having Oxley on the bench (bloody forgot to swap him over with Mcintosh on Friday Night) Not really a bad score, but I’ll probably slip out of 3,414th.

  9. 2129 / Sloan (VC) / 81k (after r2)

Heroes: Swan, Selwood, Sloan, Shaw, CEY.
Villains: Parker, Griffin – others scored less than them, but I expected more ups than downs from them.

Is Parker either has a different role this year (Heeney?) or carrying a niggle.

I knew Selwood would be slow off the line this year as normal, but it was hard watching the first two rounds. Definitely a welcome turn-around 🙂

  10. 2026/Fyfe/ was 196th probably gonna drop

Had a lot of average players gray, Parker was disappointing, Burgoyne, Newnes, NVB

Had CEY on the bench aswell instead of NVB

Not having much luck in the first few weeks. Only thing that’s gone right is my rookie selections. I have Wines,Bartel and the Bont. 2 forced trades will have to be made

One could say scored higher than a number of sides by a bonti.
Could live to regret the trade of miller -> NVB

Heros: Beams, Selwood, Goldy, Dusty,Shaw, Oxley
    Duds: Gray, Parker, Griffen, Newnes
Like alot of people im guessing, could have been different had I had the right rookies fielded and had Bonts played.
Still remain relatively injury free so could be alot worse

  14. 2204/Fyfe/hopefully go up a lil’ from 1,774.

Lucky to avoid most carnage with Bonts the only concern.

SCTTL team on the other hand scored 1736 and is still reeling from Lachie Neale’s tiger knee to the gonads…traded him out for Shiel. Beams is also droppin in wit a couple kicks after tradin him out for Fyfe. Ah wells, what’s done is done.

  17. 2059/Fyfe 7/10 League Wins.

Considering that I was running with 10 rookies on field and have over 1M in the bank, it’s not a bad showing. This week I can whack out a couple of upgrades and I should hopefully get a boost in my scoring potential.

Dropped exactly 100 spots to 530.
10/10 league wins, including a 26 point win over Motts to retain top spot in LoEC2.
Top 5 – Selwood, Sloane, Shaw, Martin, Goldstien.
Bottom 5 (On field) Lonie(E), Docherty, Hogan, Vandenberg, Salem.

Beams came good, but that just means I’m back focusing on Griffin.

  20. 2203/Sloane/4303 (Up 10k positions from last week)

Quite the mixed bag of scores from high-end players this week but I’m pretty happy in the end. Think I’ll be able to hold on trades this week too and let my rookies bloom.

  21. 2148/Sloane Ranger/553

Pretty ordinary week with JPK and Robbie Grey stinking it up – loopholing Sloane (traded in for GAJ) greatly improved my score. Building with all the right rookies in place.

Surprising went up around 200 places in overall rankings

  22. 2006/Fyfe/if I look I’ll have to shoot myself.

Still deciding which of my kids to sacrifice to appease the gods. I think the first born is safe as the only boy…decisions.

Seriously though Bartel adds to Ablett who followed Sidebottom…I can only hope bad things do only happen in 3’s. Oh, no I traded in the Bont early as had things on today…perhaps it doesn’t count though, here’s hoping!

Stoked I was brave on swan this . Pretty happy with my score and rank. Normally I’m a 1900 per round and 50000 rank kind of supercoach at this stage of the year. This site has helped a lot especially in my short term strategies: avoiding the mid price land mines and picking the correct rookies etc.

Not many problems in my side other than Ablett (considering holding) and possibly Lamb so looking to close on the top 1000

Still in the top 1%, and hopefully the carnage is over.
Only 5 tons, one from a rookie!
Would not have thought that guys like CEY, Oxley, Heeney and Cripps would all have outscored Smith, Gray, Dangerfield, Griffen, Pav, Maric and bloody Newnes!
Other rookies (bar Lonie) scored 60’s and 70’s which augers well the rest of the season.

  25. 1900s somewhere, was looking for a “par score” until Wallis and Bartel went down. The good news is I have 29 trades left….

  26. 2190/Sloane/2691

Won all league matches except one were I got pipped by 2 points but such is super coach. Stoked with overall ranking (even though thats not what I’m going for). Didn’t really cop the carnage that some did over the weekend with the exception of Gray and Griffens lack of output.
Looking at goodes and potentially griffen this week. But other than that, am pretty happy with how I’m going for now.

  27. 2009/Fyfe/36k

My poor team was the unfortunate recipient of some seriously amateur coaching over the round. Started with Sloane as VC and “great” I’ll take that until I went to sub on a player and the only one not playing was Crow R.O’Brien. Duhh!! At least I still had Fyfe.
Next, I was out Sunday so I thought I’d trust Beveridge and trade in the Bont on Sat – that worked, not. Bartel and Yarran weren’t good news, and Griff, NicNat and Gray were substandard, but Neale got me over 2000 thankfully. Left Heeney and Miller on the bench. So hard to get them right this year.

  28. 2078/Sloane

Was sitting nicely on 1750 coming into today, not to much spudness (bar Gray/Parker) and was looking set for at least 2250 with Gibson/Bartel/Fyfe/Clark and NicNat to come.

But Nope. 300 between the 5 of them.

  29. 2110 / Sloane o/a 6900ish

Sloane for Ablett was good. Beams repaid the faith. Goldy , Martin , and Pendles best of premos. CEY , Oxley and Cripps best rookies.
Also plenty of letdowns Gray , Simpson , Newnes , Gibson , Bennell and Bonts late out.

Won 5 out of 10 leagues including LOEC 4 sitting 3rd one spot behind Motts who won by a solitary point.
Big shout out to Father Dougal who gave me a touch up by 119pts. Well done sir. Look forward to the rematch in Rattens next week.

Good score I guess despite Bonts out and under-performing premos. 10 players raised the bat, which meant that the round could have been so much better, but like most i guess, we have all had probs with our premos.

Fail miserably and WTF?: Parker – seriously, what is wrong with him? Anderson (bye bye)
Fail: Smith, Simpson, Brown, NVB, NicNat, Wingard
Pass: Saad, KMac, AVDB, Pendles, Fyfe, Ward, Hogan, Clark, Salem, McGrath
Distinction: Hunt, Oxley, Heeney, Miller, Martin
Graduate with Honours: Shaw, selwood, CEY, Goldy, Swannie

Now, my under-performing premos, take note of the names that have passed with distinction and honours …. AND LIIIFFFTTTT YOUR $$%#ING GAMES!!! … (coach’s spray over!!!)

    Night all!!

  31. 2108/Joelwood/20k

Not a great score but on the up climbing 10k spots. Joelwood captain saved my bacon after I put the VC on JPK. Bonts late out cost a few points but Saad’s EMG 64 was serviceable.

The love affair with Griff is over. Won’t be a keeper mid so pocketing the cash before he drops even further. The Kraken is likely to come in.

  32. Has SC always been this close? While there are 400 pts separating the leader from no.1000, it’s only a 300pts difference from there to ranking no.20000. When I think that I could’ve easily gone with Sloane ahead of Parker, I’d be nicely positioned around top 5000………instead of 23575……oh well……

  34. 2229/Sloane/8357

My best week ever I think. My rookies did well and enough other players did well to balance out the ones who slacked off.

Bontemplli for Redpath was a non event, not playing for not playing. Sloane for GAJ was good. Lucky to avoid the big bad injuries from the week
