  1. 2205/Danger/Dunno yet

I think I went pretty well considering all of my onfield rookies spudded it up and Hanners decided to come through with a 52.

Really happy with that for a start. Will be interested to see where it places me overall but i’m just happy not to be overly behind the eight-ball from the get go.

    1. Fyfe was Captain
Parish and Tipper were pod’s that did not do enough and will change. Happy with Witts, Mckernon, McGrath and Z Jones

Think that’s the best Rd 1 score I’ve ever had, so pretty happy with that regardless of overall rank

  5. Jesus there’s a lot of big scores around.

    2174/danger

Had Eddy on field instead of Butler and Taranto on field which really hurt me in the end. Still not unhappy with that, its early days anyway.

    1. Don’t worry about some of the big scores you see โ€“ they’ll revert to the mean over the next few weeks. It just means that a lot went right for them in this particular week.

  6. 2132/ Danger/not yet determined

Happy overall, lots of cash cows, and money still in the bank. Only major disappointment was Rance. No injuries round 1 and several returning players from injury like fyfe, O’Meara and Roughy will be better for the run.

    Danger! So good

I was let down by Hampton, otten, beams, roughie, omeara

Glad I picked up hoskin-elliot and dropped taranto

    Terrible scores from the rookies

Wish I picked Josh Kennedy from the eagles

  8. 2174/Danger

On-field spuds – Cripps, Taranto, Otten, Hampton, Turner, Stewart
Heros – Nankervis, Steele, Franklin, Titchell, Laird, Shaw, Sandi, Danger

Not thrilled with the result but given how my rookies went today, happy with that.

  9. 2181 / Danger / TBA

Reasonable Round 1 score but work to be done, first problem will be a replacement for J Smith. Second will be a smack to the head for doubting for Gawn & Goldy and passing on both, at least Sandi got through unscathed.

    1. It depends on who you picked instead of Gawnstein. For example, I’m very happy with the way SandiWitts performed, especially for the price.

    2. Yep, always best not to make a quick-fire trade out of your premos. 5 weeks minimum before you kick them out, you picked them for a reason.

  11. 2159-Danger

A bit of Sunday carnage with Hampton , Otten and Taranto on field. Went Rance over Laird which was costly this week. Just got burnt by Laird last year , and for Bye structure.

Decisions to make regarding Roo. Either 1 trade to JJ Kennedy or 2 trades with a couple of Mid pricers Steele and Hibberd to Zac Jones to avoid playing Otten or Stewart.

  12. @ Anthony – I didn’t see the game, but I heard that Hanners got a head knock in the third quarter.

Did you see him limp off the ground in the last quarter?

    3

    0
    1. Ye I saw him limping of something wasn’t right hopefully just a cramp or corkey but not 100 percent giving him 1 week to prove to myself how big he can score next week

  13. 2224/Dangerfield

Disappointed with Hampton’s score considering Crows played so well. Milera, Cameron and Atkins seemed to be the preferred options. Even Mackay was good. Otten disappointing. Thought he may knock Hartigan out when Lever returns but Otten slow and dithery. Hartigan wasn’t great either.
Rory Laird was just sensational and his game deserved more than 147.

  14. 2199/Danger……there’s some good scores around!?! Have NRoo and J Smith to possibly send back into the Matrix. Lot of low scoring rookies might make the cash cows slow to fatten up!

  15. 2226/Dangerfield

Interestingly 3 players – and 3 forwards at that share the lowest score on field for me; 44 each for Florent, Taranto and Parfitt. But luckily I benched Pickett and Eddy.

On field average for my players under $210k: 52.83
Overall average for my players under $210k: 43.83
Bench average for my players under $210k: 34.83

  16. 2210/danger/tba

was let down by pickett (had him over butler), hampton and taranto.
was expecting more from JOM and roughie, but i do have slack for them cos they are returning to afl.
Happy with marchbank, nankervis, WHE, Dusty, Oliver, JPK, Laird, shaw and danger, all had great scores in my books.

Over all really happy with my start to the year.

P.S. Good luck to everyone with trying to find good rookies!

Didn’t have the big guns like Martin, Kennedy x2, Heppell (who I traded late) and Pendlebury but I didn’t have any spuds on the ground like Eddy, Parfitt, Hibberd, Hampton and Otten. Pretty happy

  18. 2246/Fyfe

    Decent start.

Excellent scores from most of my midpricers. O’meara the only flop.

Cash generation is going to be a major issue so I’m very glad I picked up witts

    1. Rolled an ankle at training they said. Not sure how bad it is yet/if he was just being managed in response. Wait and see what the club says this week.

  19. 2230/Danger after failing on Doch

Glad I stayed strong on leaving big Max there, with great support from Laird, Nank (fwd) and Titch and a few low tons.

Pickett on the field not great and Hampton and Sloane can only improve.

However very happy to crack 2200 in round 1, not sure I’ve done that much before!

I’m reasonably happy with the result. I’m even more worried about the rookie situation than I was before, though.

    1. Just to highlight the depth of Coaches we have here……..six of the ten TEAM Leagues that were set up are currently in the Top300 overall. Very solid start, well done Coaches!!

  21. 2117/Danger.

Disappointing last minute trade cost me big. Josh Kennedy (WC) for Hanners. Making me 6 premiums in midfield plus Beams. Played four rookies in the forward line once I got butlers 96 I thought I’d do some moving around Coast me 120 points. But oh well !! Onwards and upwards. Roo is my only worry

  22. 2221/Danger/13142

No good scores from rookies all top end talent contributing to that score so upside if the likes of otten, Taranto, Turner have decent games. Probably keeps me assured not to trade this week and back my line up not to have too much standard deviation from this score.

  23. 2108/Doch cos i stupidly thought it was the vc on him/55,124

Very happy tho – first time ive ever cracked 2k this early. NRoo will probably have to go… but i think ill go sideways to Macrae or Buddy, wait another week for correctives. The number of 2k+ scores suggest people were way better prepared this season despite the dearth of good rookies available (thank you Suns, GWS and (on a somber note) Bombers for the past few years!). Onwards and upwards!

  24. 2019/Danger
Ranked 89K (really didn’t think I’d be ranked that bad but I guess so

6 scores below 50 from rooks & hanners 52 just happy I even cracked 2K

  25. 2234/J J Kennedy/10265th

Thankfully nailed the Captain via the loophole. A few low scores from the rookies, same as everyone else really.

Only real regret is picking Treloar over Pendles to start with with the intention of grabbing the other after the byes, but just had that feeling Pendles might not have been 100%

Just the injury of J Smith to deal with. I’ll put the E on Otten this week if he fires then i’ll loophole him, if he doesn’t i’ll Trade Smith to Marchbank.

Still confident in O’Meara and a few others who came in with Mediocre scores this week.

My best ever points start to this in round one, so pretty happy overall.

  26. 2,100/Fyfe

Would have been 2,200+ had I fielded the right rookies and put the C on JPK instead.

My regret at the moment is that I changed Zerret to Selwood at the last minute. Zerrett has what it takes to be top 5.

    1

  27. 2314/Dusty/Top 1% – was a bit lucky with Dusty as my VC, a few other premiums didn’t fire, but Steele and Nankervis seemed to be decent selections. Struggled with Hampton and Taranto, but what can you do, they’ll work themselves into it

  28. 2065 / Danger / I didn’t know numbers went that high

Sigh. Next year I am picking my team 5 minutes before the first bounce. It would appear that guns and rookies is not the way to go, not this year anyway.

Riewoldt and Smith out, Hannan and Shaw in. I’ll probably change that a few hundred times before Thursday.

I’m currently 61 points outside the cutoff for the inaugural SCT Cup, so the next two weeks had better be good!

  29. 2259/Danger/5895

Pretty pumped up about that type of start!
Zerrett, Rockliff and Simpson all doing what I had hoped.
Hogan will hopefully keep firing like he did in the FWDs.
Most of the rookies spudded it up a bit but everybody seems to be on the same page there. Hopefully they can post some better numbers to generate some cash.

Overall, good start to Year 3!

  30. 2282/Danger/3299.

Danger as captain was my biggest failure, but Nroo’s injury, Pickett and Eddy being in my side were all big failures.

On the upside Rory Laird was a huge win, as was my decision to back preseason form of some mid-pricers including Steele, Nankervis, Higgins (yes, Higgins).

Add Sandi and Witts to it and midprice madness is alive and well in round 1.

      1. Well i did have NRoo as vice after a last minute decision between him and JJ Kennedy….

Would have given me more choices on the rookie front too.

  31. 2187/Dangerfield

No trades for me this week

Don’t think we’ve had a round 1 like this before nearly every rookie spudded it up it’s gonna be a long ride to get 22 premos on park after there performances

    Studs:
    Laird
    Adams
    Simmo
    Pendels
    Danger
    Fyfe
    Sandi
    Nankervis
    Butler (On bench)

    Duds:
Rookies scoring very low for our cash generation =[
Tarranto (Premium rookie price for a 44)

Kicking myself re Dusty as had him in for 5 mins but very little talk about him pre rd 1. thought contract talks may hinder him. But Bang goes Dusty.

  33. 2050 / Dangerfield / 78979

Before Sunday I was worried I would not even manage to break 2000. Hanners missed by a lot, and a lot of players missed by a little, with only Laird going big unexpectedly. Going to have to hope for comeback next week. No way I am spending trades with nobody important hurt this week. Can use Smith to loophole Stewart and Otten.

Wondering if i should have gone even more Midpriced than I did. I suppose if I had JPK instead of Hanners I would be feeling a lot better. Worried I won’t even make it into the cup, which would be sad.

  34. 2202/Danger/NFI

Pretty happy with the score first up. Cost myself about 100 odd points with lower scoring rookies on the field. The lions some how got over the line against the suns. Still 300 k in reserves if needed in the coming weeks. Good weekend all round I say

My FWD theory actually worked the Big Roo, JJ and Touk Miller although Roo injured now but better that the much raved about Dalhuas and McCrae combination.

Really mids let me down Cripps and Barett and to some degree Treloar, but must be happy with this start.

  36. Worst start I have had for a couple of years.
Had Hibberd, Simpkin, Hampton, Cam McCarthy on field
Then got florent score for swallows late out.( i was in
the middle of nowhere with no phone service sat night)
My failures were Tom Boyd & Tom Hickey plus
Alex Rance! Glad it is a long season so I can hopefully bounce back.

    1. It’s a marathon, not a sprint!

Early rankings mean nothing. 100 points is the difference between top 2k and top 20k.

Last year I pulled from rank 40k end of Rd2 last year to 9k the following week.

  40. 2332 / Pendles (VC loophole) – Ranked 788th o/a

Great start even with Hibbert & Otten on the field.
Pendles, JPK, M.Murphy, Laird, H.Shaw all did well.
Zac Toue??, Sandi, Goldy, Wingard, Nankervis, Butler etc all did well.

Hopefully D.Swallow (M8) is back this week, however Pepper from Port did ok as my emergency & will play if needed.

Want a good start, but will try and hold off trading this week
