Shame to not make 2,400 – Hit by SBS yet again with Howe getting tagged, Clanger Adams getting 10 in the first half, Pendles just cruising and Rocky hitting up Essendon with every kick will do it.

Was nice to see last weeks weak link (F4-6) Nank, Buddy and Lynch all fire. Moving on Fyfe/Sandi looks like the right call a few weeks ago too.

Shout out to good guy Father Dougal who was kind enough to inform me to put the (E) on S.Martin after I forgot to do so last night, even if it meant I just beat him in 2 leagues. Would have been a massive and embarrassing blunder on my behalf.

  2. 2464 pre scaling. For the first time in a while forward line did better than mids or defense. Walters was huge today! I almost feel like 173 is too low, 32 possessions and 6 goals.

  3. I thought I was doing okay, until I realised that my emergencies had already been factored into my total score.

It would have ended up being a pretty good score if Sandilands hadn’t gone down.

    1. Started the day off with a projected score of 2372 and a projected 70 point victory and finished with 2196 and a loss. Pendles and Adams had poor games and Sandilands got injured in the first quarter. Last week I lost by 26 with Beams injured on 12 and this week lost by 45 with Sandilands injured on 12. Was holding onto Sandi for an eternity whilst waiting for Gawn but now it looks like Gawn has no midfielders to tap the ball to and might not be a good option. I also brought in Robbie Gray hoping he was over his groin problems but I was semi-aware he could score terribly and that Richmond’s defence would give him a few problems. Also gonna put JJ on the bench next week with Witherden on the field next week. On the positive side my rookies Ryan, Ainsworth, Greenwood and Witherden are looking good for some late season trading, the nank is back and Danger is killing it as captain.

  4. 2412. Hopefully enough (combined with a 50 odd point start) to get Merky’s Premiers through to the SCT Cup final eight.

Struggling big time. Too many passengers…..13 players between 60-90 pts & Sandi, far too little for such a competitive game. Bring on 2018 😉

  6. 2369. Danger. Was 7541

I had to cover J Sellwood and T Greene with Parsons 49 and Berrys 69.

    9/9 league wins.

A few under performers but no real spuds.

    Pretty happy overall.

I managed to escape most of Sunday’s poor prem scores. I Still held onto Beams this week so reasonably happy for now

I feel this was a high scoring week, courtesy of Captain Danger.

HEROES: Dusty, Hibberd, Doc, Danger, Mountford for scoring a respectable 81 in Jelwood’s absence, and Lynch and Nank for great returns to form.

SPUDS: Hanners, Rocky, Billings, Heeney, Dahl, Laird, and Adams.

There’s gonna be some monster scores out there this week.

Disappointed in Fyfe, Pendles, Howe and Rockliff who were all sunday let-downs. Laird Wines and Oliver were also down a bit unfortunately.

Shoutouts to Nank/Lynch/Franklin for all bouncing back from last week with strong scores!

Finally a respectable score to share, what could of been though!

Adams (64), Laird (72), Pendles (78), Macrae (81), Bont (85), Shaw (85), Dahlhaus (87), Heppell (88), Heeney (88), Lloyd (89) & J Selwood on the bench with Witherden (91 ) out scoring all these so call premiums.

    Cheers Catta

Was on track for 2580 until Rocky, Fyfe & Montagna all had the Sunday blues.

Oh well – at least looking forward to going up a couple of thousand spots from my current 17K rank.

13 players under 90 having to take Fisher’s score for Jelwood.

  14. 2497 / Danger / Was 79

Only real disappointments were Adams and Howe. Bont on debut for Beams was abit sour as I was tossing up between him and Cripps. Will cop it though and hope long term it was right decision. Hard though considering what my score could of been and that I am a big blues and Crippa fan.

Loopholes worked out reasonably, had to choose from Hibberd or Lloyd in the backline playing before my non player, chose Hibberd so kept his score and sat Shaw. Had Llynch and Witts both emergency in fwd and ruck using Nank in either position to cover if one struggled but they both scored fine. Lost 8 points in the end though due to Nanks score Vs Witts. Had Greenwood E in the middle and backed Fyfe to beat it and he matched it.

  15. 2191 / Pendles

Totally stuffed up the VC on danger by leaving the E on D.Lloyd. Then backed Pendles to get more than the expected diff of Fyfe and D.Lloyd. which made it even worse. A comedy of errors to say the least, dumb and dumber.

14 tons, 5 above 120 is nice. Buddy, Titch, Ryder, Doc and Danger.
Won 7/8 eight and lost that by 2 to a Walters special.

Could’ve been a bit bigger but decided to keep my trades and use Barrett for cover and wait a week on Witherden. Cest la vie!

Managed to do the worst trade of my season… Flew to Perth this week and forgot about the time difference. Had fisher (41) on in the mid as had earlier put the injured beams on the bench. With Mountford on the bench (81) and no way to loophole. Not long before the gws game did a rushed trade of Scooter to Green, only to find out ten mins later he was a late out. Then realised that I had stuffed up big time as I had martin, Sandi and nank all in the ruck and no way of swapping nank to the fwd. This left me with Parsons score of 49 in the fwds. Decided to have faith in Sandi as nank had been down on his output the last few weeks. Went to the Freo V St Kilda game only to watch sandy do his hammy in the first quarter. To top it all off I lost miserably to my dad this week. Don’t think I’ll hear the end of this for a while

  19. 2376 / Danger

Danger saved this weekend. Overall should of been a massive score but my so called ‘premos’ again disapoint! 11 ‘premiums’ under 100!

Guns- Danger, Lynch, Rance, Dusty, Hibberd, Doch

Duds- Adams, Bont, Dahl, Macrae, Laird, Fyfe, Pendles on debut (although i blame bucks for this one)

  20. 2373 – Danger – 9,732

10 out of 10 League wins.

A horror Sunday put paid to cracking 2,400. On the plus side moved up 2,300 places into the Top 10k so now pushing for Top 5k.

Trades this week Fisher to Witherden and James Stewart to Big Maxy.

Disappointed with new recruit T Adams, S Pendlebury and R Laird for scoring less than 80 and Bontempelli scoring his 6th sub 100 score from 7 games since I selected him.

Apart from the aforementioned quartet very happy with the remainder of the team with 4 120+ (Danger, Buddy, T Lynch, S Docherty) and 10 100+ (S Burgoyne, J Kennedy, J Steele, G Ablett, J Witts and T Goldstein)

Looking forward to regaining the services of J Selwood and M Priddis as well as pushing H Shaw to D7 and freeing up funds to bring in one of Yeo, Heeney or Nankervis for RD17.

As I said earlier, it would have been quite different if Sandilands hadn’t gone down. Oh well.

On the bright side, new recruit Cripps was terrific.

  23. Score: 2252
    Weekly Ranking: 33777
    Overall Ranking: 19751 (19586)
Heroes: Docherty, McDonald, Dangerfield (C), Zorko
    Villains: Adams, Laird, Rockliff
Trades Made: Stewart and Berry to McDonald and Cox
Trades Planned: ??? and ??? to Witherden and Gawn/Darcy
    Trades Left: 11

    Trades: 7/10

Tom McDonald started excellently for my side; and I traded Cox in to cover JJK and he was tracking well at half time, but faded to be the worst scoring performer. Still; the trade generated plenty of $$$ which will be useful in the future.

    Defence: 4.5/10

Docherty continues to be one of the best performers in my side; ably supported by the debutant McDonald, but the other four premiums didn’t reach those heights; Shaw recovered to post an 85, Laird and Lloyd were below par, and Taylor Adams shanked both his kicking and my chances at a 2300+ score.

    Midfield: 4.5/10

Balance is restored as Dayne Zorko returned to the heroes podium; supporting the glorious captaincy of Patrick Dangerfield; but they had little support. Treloar tonned up and Mountford, covering Beams, chipped in with a decent score; but they had very little support; Rockliff has been one of my worst trade-ins of the season, Bontempelli returned to his slump; Fyfe hasn’t got out of his, and Pendlebury is less dependable this season. Fortunately Dangerfield scored enough for 1 and half premiums (two full supposed premiums + a rookie in my side).

    Rucks: 8/10

Nice week for Nankervis to return to form; Witts was back to his good, solid scoring, and although he probably hasn’t featured in many ‘Heroes’ lists, he’s been one of the best performers of the season.

    Forwards: 4.5/10

Sort of a vanilla day for the forwards; Cox only scored 46, but I can forgive that seeing as he’s a rookie. No awful scores – though they could have been better; no tons, but special mention to Hugh Greenwood who boosted his score with a fine last quarter.

    Overall: 5.5/10

    Comments:

Best score of the year (shows how bad I’ve been,) and I’m still disappointed. Could have easily been 2450+ if my below-par players had just reached a score one should be able to expect from them; still, despite dropping a tiny bit in the rankings, it was nice to get an alright score at long last.

Now there is the question of trades; although I’m anal retentive about keeping ‘premiums’, if I did the trades of Beams to Witherden, Eddy to Darcy and then Witts to Gawn next week, I’d have 8 trades and $600k in the kitty, with an alright team – albeit one with Shaw D6, Rookie M8 (Would be targeting Selwood), and Nankervis F6, with Greenwood rotating between M/F.

Trading Beams would allow my rookies more time to mature and with the cash reserve, I would hopefully be able to pluck a few more premiums down the track.

A couple of miss plays with the bench, missed out on Nanks tone and ended with Hibberds 50 instead. Can’t complain, next week should be better for most of our teams I reckon, even though this was a big week thanks to Danger

    Heroes: Doc, Danger, Zorko, Lynch

Villains: Adams, Laird, Bont, Pendles, Hanners, Rocky, Fyfe, Sandi, Macrae, Dahl. Had some more under performing prems but oh well guess the score wasnt bad considering. Alot of my “premiums” really hurting me and will be put on the “strongly discouraged list”, unfortunately don’t have the trades to accommodate this list.

Switched over to the Freo game and didn’t see Sandilands out there and was hoping he was a late withdrawal. Really disappointed to find out his hammy went in the first qtr, I would imagine that with a 5 week layoff and it going twang in the first 10 minutes that it’s game over for the 211 cm 33 + yo.
Also had Toby Greene on debut (Late withdrawal)and Matt White who was serviceable. Starting to get a taste of what bad luck looks like and the tumble down the rankings is now becoming a common weekly feature.

  28. 2223/ Danger. Great effort from the captain reliable. And the rocky curse struck too.
I was expecting a big score then I had Pendles, Rocky, Laird, T Adams, Montagna, Wallis, Dixon…all SUB 80 Thats too many underperforming premium duds.
Then few sub 90 including the Bont and Wines EEek.
I just think that it is a Learning lesson for next year not to carry too many players from PA, WB and Collingwoble. When they underperform, it is bad. I want premium players who can score 90-100 even if their team loses.

From a 399th before the byes.. I am now sitting at 4748th… Like you Schwarzie, too many passengers. Season over for me. I am going to trade silly now . I am sick of waiting for the pemios to come good.

I was almost ranked about 40,000 before the bye rounds, so I’m really happy where I’m at considering all the injuries I’ve gotten and lots of trades made throughout the year.

Won in all 9 leagues this week. I have no clue how, but I have.

Heroes – All my forwards & Danger
Villians – All my defenders (except Hibberd).

Predicted to get about 2400 this week, so I hoping to nab my best score for the year. Got Jay Clark in one of the leagues, so I need to be on my A-game
