  1. 1965/Dangerfield

Awful, awful week, with Treloar, Dusty, Roughy, and Shaw all performing well below expectations, and only Dahl putting in a big 120+ performance for my side. In fact, I only had 6 players crack the ton this week, just awful.

The only good things to come out of this week were some of my rookies doing really well in Otten, Newman, and Witts.

Hopefully I can look back on this week as one of my worst for the year.

  2. 2073 (NOTE: scaling may not be final) / Dangerfield / TBA.

Well down on my usual average, but this looks like it has been a low-scoring round in general, so I’m not overly worried.

I suspect that a lot of the more left-field teams have done better than usual this week โ€“ I wouldn’t be surprised if my tech-league team outscored my real team.

I am in the top 1000 and have been averaging nearly 2300 a round, so very poor for me

  5. 2055- Danger. Any coach who hit their Captains pick this week should be moving up the ranks. Gut feeling on my score maybe a little below average.

  6. People of SCT: Don’t panic. Don’t feel down. Everything will be alright.

What you need to remember is that scores are of relative, rather than absolute, importance. That is to say, it doesn’t matter how many points you score โ€“ just how many you score relative to everybody else. It has been a very low-scoring round, so your sub-2000 score is probably nowhere near as bad as what you think. Everybody, barring those with a ton of PODs in their team, has scored like that.

    You will be fine.

Still waiting on final scoring and ranking.

Not a good week but looks solid in the circumstances.

      1. Yep jumped into top 1% overall on that result.

Won all leagues including SCT2 where i rolled the unfortunate Winterblues by 2 points.

    1. Congrats Harbour, beat me by 2 points, think I would have beaten all others in our league SCT2, thought I had you until Danger had a stinker thanks to old mate “Roughie”

  8. 2056/Dangerfield/ 6 out of 7 league wins

I unfortunately lost to my son who had 2138/Pendles. He was tossing b/w Pendles & Rocky as Captain and he chose unwisely – says the master to grasshopper.
He could have had over 2300 if he got it right. He doesn’t have Dangerfield so that helped him me thinks.

  9. At what point do I give up on my SuperCoach team and focus on the others ๐Ÿ˜›

2,080/Danger – Seems about par this week.

7/10 league wins, all 3 losses the opponent had between 2090-2096

      1. Yeah was about 1986 in AFL Fantasy. Had Gawn to trade out but didn’t – relied on Preuss as Emergency.

        Erm. Fail.

But on upside gave me a good look at Spencer as a cheap downgrade option.

        1. That’s one of my plans for this week, Roughie out Spencer in swinging Nankervis forward.

I know i should really wait to see Spencer’s second game, but i watched the game this week, and he did enough to convince me its a good trade, and as i’ve dropped to 20,013th overall i’ll gamble and go early.

  11. Why does it always take about 4 hours after the final game of the round for the rankings to be released? I know they have to do the scaling for the final game, but what’s the hold-up after that?

Surprisingly I did better than last week with this score, hopefully I get a boost up the ranks after the plummet of last week

  13. 2036/Danger – shocking week like most, had McGrath on the bench (played Hampton) so could have been 55 pts better.

Have my eyes on a few backline fallen premiums and a certain Freo rookie.

By the looks of it I’ll get a boost in the rankings. I made a shocking debut in one of the SCT leagues (SCT6) last week with a very low round. Feels good to see that I was the leader amongst that league this week, which is exactly what i needed to see to curb that feeling of devastation I was riding leading up to this round.

Sounds like people may also be right about it being a POD-type week.

Stef Martin, Rocky, Zerrett, Oliver and Docherty were studs this week and all have relatively low ownership.

I hope to sleep more soundly this week!
    Good luck y’all.

Oh, big up to Doch and S. Martin as my trade ins this week! Told my friend Rocky for 170 and he delivered so big Star for him too! He was due for an explosion!!!

      1. True that is. Scanning the SCT boards I was eager to see where I would place. Last week i dropped from top 5k to 30k. This week, as you said, a top 1% result;
1554 for the round and a boost of 19+k to get up to an overall of 8657 (top 6%).

Just what i needed to get back in the hunt. And a pretty good start for the SCT Cup!

The risky double up trade in was worth it for this round, hopefully the boys keep firing!

        1. Last week both my trades scored 50 odd. Double trade this week got Murphy and Newman so that was a big win.

Sometimes being aggressive is a win. Sometimes not.

Cash generation is good, scoring good, no injuries of note.

Hopefully can sit a couple of weeks with no trades.

Looking around the leagues i can only see a couple of good scores. Ranking might stay around the same.
Main worries in my team are roughy and omeara. I dont think anyone expected hawthorn to be this bad.
Cash generation also concerning with barratt and eddy dropped.

Forgot to trade Gawn so pretty happy with my score in the end

    Heros: Lynch, Dahl, Otten, Steele

    Zeros: me, Treloar, Roughead

Looking at trading roughy as I don’t see him scoring well if hawks keep losing

I think touhy has brought himself a few more weeks in my side

Dahl , Howe , Martin only big scorers. Macrae serviceable on debut for Omeara.

Too many poor performers to name.

Still managed 6 out of 10 League wins , so that is an indication of how low the scores overall were for everyone this round.

A pretty good result in a low-scoring round. I jumped a couple of thousand places in the rankings, which is nice.

Overall rank is my #1 priority, but I also won 7/10 league matches, which is certainly a bonus.

    1. I’ve just checked my opponent’s score, I can confirm that I have been knocked out of the SCT Cup, by a margin of just 7 points. Given that I was the higher-seeded team, this is a bit disappointing. Oh well… well done to the coach of the team ‘Thug Fyfe’ on a well-deserved victory. Best of luck for the rest of the season.

I am also still yet to beat my round 1 hindsight team (http://supercoachtalk.com/trade-talk-rd2/#comment-684016), although this week I only lost by 5 points. That team, if it were actually entered into the competition, would currently be ranked equal-163rd, about 100 places lower than last week (and out of the top 100 for the first time). Anyhow, I promise I’ll stop posting about this made-up team once I actually beat it!

I thought I’d drop overall as well, but thinking most people must have had Dangerfield as captain. Anything above 2200 this week is a great score.

Looks like I was the only one that received the memo about RD 4 being a bye round.

Highest score of 113 by J Kennedy and only 4 other players to join him in the 100+ club (Laird, Selwood, Priddis and Fyfe).

Simpson, Shaw, Dangerfield, Pendlebury and Roughead all disappointing scores as well as 7 rookies scoring sub 70 (Hampton, Taranto, Powell-Pepper, Pickett, Hannan, Turner and Butler.)

This iconic Simpsons and Seinfeld moments perfectly epitomises my Supercoach predicament.

Whilst Supercoach is categorised as a marathon I’m unsure on my ability to recover to gain a respectable ranking.

    1. Put together a trade plan for the next few weeks and I’m sure you’ll get back into it. 700pts seperating #1000 to #50k. Long way to go yet…….
