    1. Make that 2250 score and now ranked 857.

Could have been better if I had remembered to put the C on titch Saturday morning as I was planning but also could have been worse if I didnt have Newman on the field as a loophole as originally planned if Bont did well.

brought Kennedy in this week and put the C on him as soon as i did with Dangerfield as VC. Hoping to get back up there after a bad one last week.

Finally had a good week! It’s been a long time coming!

Heroes: Rocky, Doch, Laird, Adams, Hanners, JPK, Heeney and NIC NEWMAN. Seriously horse, you can’t drop him now!

Potatoes: Shaw and Dahl were really the only spuds for me this week, I guess we can count Treloar because he didn’t play at all!

Spuds: Hampton, Otten, Shaw, Dahl, Butler, Buddy on debut

Studs: Yeo’s last quarter, Titch, Steele, S. Martin, Laird, JPK and Newman

Danger captain, yeo vc (glad I traded him in for florent)

Everyone in my team did well apart from Lance franklin, otten, butler, pendles, dahlhaus, and marchbank.

+ Lucky Rocky came up with the goods as i left the C on him
+ Newman with the casual 151
    + JPKs BACK!

    – Pendles, Dahl, Shaw underperforming
    – Butler getting 36 with Taranto on the bench
    – Rockys shoulder

Overall: Pleased with how the week went hopefully i can move up the rankings

At the end of the season, I’ll planning a huge write-up. I’m going to use the imaginative title “How to Suck at Supercoach”. Should be a ripper!

Thankfully my Tech team is doing a little better – 2370 this week, mostly because I kept Newman!

Newman on the bench hurt. Butler on field hurt. Treloar injured hurt. Pendles and Dahlhaus poor. Trading in Buddy instead of Heeney hurt.

Times up for Otten and Butler

Lost patience with jpk, traded him out for rocky, sideways trade always hits you with the karma bus, rookie mistake, to many holes to mention, but still ranked top 7k so still something to salvage yet,

    1. Leaped nearly 10000 places, 9000 places last week so moved from 25k to 5900 in two weeks. Fantastic.

  9. 1848 , how embarrassing. however when you have parsons, hardwick , butler on field and dahl, selwood , pendles plus treloar on bench thats what you get.
Also still have otten and hampton on field with newman and berry on bench.
I think I will get there in the end but it is taking a long time.

  10. 2220/Danger/Probably still outside top 20k
    5 1/2 league wins out of 7.
Schwarzwalder came from nowhere to get me in Cattas Challenge. Surely you will not claim the victory thanks to Newmans late inclusion.
Tied with Mummas bois. I had Newman sitting on the pine unfortunately. He didn’t.
At least i am luckier than my son. He lost to someone who had Newman as Captain. He has now gone to his room sobbing. He is 29.
    Gotta love Supercoach. Sometimes…..

    1. Great match-up Shaggi. Top 2 scores in the league and we face each other, go figure!

Schwartz got 1 up on me too with JPK delivering for him and Buddy going MIA.

    2. Thank you, Mr Newman ๐Ÿ˜‰ Got very lucky today with a few sneaky victories. Got 1 back against Hutta, everything just fell my way for first time this season. Not expecting it to happen too often…..and now I gotta pray for Rocky’s shoulder……

Happy, but Lynch spending time down back in China hurt . Newman to kick on now hopefully. Hannan and Parsons need the chop

Finally pulled a score. Sideways traded Treloar to get in both Buddy and Heeney and stand by the decision. The rulebook has been chucked out this season

Big ups to Heeney, JPK finally firing, Oliver and a few others

    Negative:
Sloane as C (MF), hampton and otten kept with newman on the bench(FUJL), bont 99 on debut(shouldnt complain), the cats got thrashed(was Mackie kicking to Kelly deliberately)

    Positive:
Viney and parker finally starting to score something respectable(thankF), heeney a good trade in (so far), 10 months till next season (and two sleeps untill grand final)

Bitter-sweet about Newman. Happy he scored so well but I had him on the bench. Meant that I held onto Hampton and started him on the field rather than trading in Dusty with DPP. Could have been about a 150 point swing

  15. 2,220 / Danger / 1,652 (up 376)

6/10 league wins + 1 draw with Buttslappers.

Docherty, Adams, Laird, NEWMAN loophole!, Yeo, Titch, SandiWitts, Macare, Steele all great. Howe, Bont, Fyfe, SPP and Nank servicable,

Fisher 0 points second half hurt as he was covering for TreLOL. Buter, your time is up, get out. MBank, Buddy, Pendles, Dahl… we need some words for next week.

Good week for a reminder that these scores are still possible after two tough rounds for most of us.

    + Yeo on debut
+VCing Rocky as often as it allows (hope the shoulder is better than it looked!)
+Clayton Oliver! (and the blessing that was the ‘oops-rookie-mistake’ trade i used to get him after a lockout back in round 2)
    +Heeney keeping at it
+Sam Reid (SYD) hitting his higher BE and scoring big!

-every week still seeing some really poor rookie scores on and off my field (dang, i should have looped the E on Parsons’ 38 to avoid butlers 36!)

Overall I was happy checking the scores all weekend and hope to boost the rank!

  17. 2024/ Sloane/1528. Blah
Ranking to take a big hit this week unfortunately. Only positives being newmans cash growth( bench score), roughy still in team, jpk stopping his slide.
Tech team fared much better despite pendles captaincy with Newman ending up on field.

  18. 2167/Sloane. Was 668th, less than 1%.
Will probably now move to 2 or 3% because of a bad captain choice. Rocky last minute change to Sloane and Newman also punishing me for leaving him on the Bench . Ah well, you win some and lose some.

Trading in Montagna and Miller in the last 2-3 weeks have cost me quite a few points. But gonna have to ride it.

Hoping I can hold position and don’t drop.

Didn’t end up making any trades this week, so reasonably happy with that score all things considered.

    1. Yes And I have gone down to 930th… still 0-1% but I could have been 250-300 points better. I’ll take that. Time to navigate the byes very carefully Rocky out is another headache.
      May use the Bye planner..

    1. I have always followed the advice of the community but this year decided to change slightly. most of my players are mid priced. They don’t rise much in value but enough to allow me to upgrade. I started with 6 rookies and had few rules (Some which I got from here):
-Only 3 premium maximum per position
-No more than 3 players per team
-Trade only if it is worth 100k or more
-Ignore break evens and chasing points
I started without Danger, Pendles, Dahlhaus (has Dahlhaus later)
That’s what I did. I am in the top 1% but I may still drop off. You can follow a Frenchie at your own risks

  22. 2119/Danger/ 3388…. dropped 1,022 places

Since getting Pendles 2 weeks ago he has been well below expectations and like most other coaches still waiting for Fyfe to explode into beast mode

Cash generation is going to be an issue as I’ve missed the Newman boat ๐Ÿ™

Still spewing about the SC site freeze Saturday that cost me Doc as “c”, A donut for Parfitt and Newmans loop score. Missed 251 points – I feel like suing so you can see how competitive this comp really is!!

Loved Uber scores from Doc, Laird, Titch and Kelly but coulda used more from Sloane Dahl and Buddy. Ah well, there’s always next week.

Thanks be to Rockliff, Docherty, Laird, Oliver and Kelly.
Need to do better Dahlhaus, Franklin, T Lynch.
    N. Newman on the bench meant that a really good score was just a FUJL away. Please keep him in.

  26. Score: 2048/21
    Weekly Ranking: 56853
    Overall Ranking: 28277 (24288)
Heroes: Newman, Laird, Zorko (C), John Longmire for bringing in Newman.
Villains: Shaw, Pendlebury, Dahlhaus, myself for failing to set up a Stewart/EVW loophole, John Longmire for leaving Florent out giving me a doughnut for the second week running.
Trades Made: Hampton and Parfitt to Mutimer and Yeo
    Trades Planned: SPP to Myers
    Trades Left: 23

Trades: 7/10 I brought in a couple of valuable Round 12 bye players and the keeper delivered on debut.

    Defence: 8.5/10

We have a new top scorer for the season in Sensationally Poor, with Nic Newman’s glorious 151 eclipsing Scott Pendlebury’s 149 back in Round 6. He was supported by the usual suspects in Taylor Adams and Rory Laird; Jarrod Berry has been slowly working his way into form, and he chipped in with a very handy 71. Ed Vickers-Willis kick-started his cash generation with a 79; poor coaching on my part meant that I didn’t even use M. Hibberd to loophole Stewart into EVW, and losing out on 33 points. Taking Heath Shaw over Sam Docherty at the start of the season continues to bite; scoring history didn’t beat the new kid on the block this time.

    Midfield: 5.5/10

Dayne Zorko returned to form with the task of captaincy resting on his shoulders after Marcus Bontempelli finished with a Bradman after being handed the Vice Captaincy. The rest of the midfield chugged along; no real standouts and they were missing both Treloar and Beams. Playing Fisher over Mutimer’s 53 lost me 14 points, but I wanted the emergency to be safe in case Pendlebury was a late scratching. As it was Pendlebury was below par once again. Dangerfield was okay as a midfielder, but not up there as a Captaincy option. Fyfe also added a Don, scaling dropping him below 100, and Barrett and SPP delivered reasonable rookie scores.

    Rucks: 7/10

Decent scoring from Sandilands and Witts.

    Fowards: 6.5/10

Yeo stormed back in the second half to deliver a debut ton. JJK missed 3 set shots in the space of a few minutes to miss out on a big score; Macrae continues to be very reliable and Dahlhaus had a downer, whilst Nankervis replicated Yeo’s heroics to push himself to a decent score, but Florent’s late scratching meant another doughnut for the forward line for the second week running.

    Overall: 7/10

    Comments:

My ranking is in free-fall, but I’m still hopeful that I can turn it around and push for a personal ranking best; the question is how best to go about that. Unless team selections are kind, I might be looking at either having to grab a rookie early or upgrading pretty close to the byes. Sam Docherty is my main target, but with his Round 11 bye I can’t afford to get him before that; and Gary Ablett is a tantalizing prospect leading into the byes, but structural consideration means that I have to weigh up the wisdom of trying to upgrade next week. In the short term 3 rookies are playing in Defence, 1 in the Midfield and 1 up forward. If selections are kind, then the % play would probably be SPP-Myers and leave it at that for the time being.

  27. 2,376 / Rocky / 570th

With VC sitting on Rocky on Sunday morning I decided to change the C from Newman to Preuss just in case Newman got a game. Being Mother’s Day I tried my best to avoid footy but checked in at HT of Swans game and wasn’t sure what to make of the Newman situation! happy to see him playing and scoring well but not sure taking the C off him was such a good idea!

Must be some coaches out there that actually got Newman as Captain.

Witts now on the bye with Preuss as cover so is it time to swing Nanks to the rucks and trade Witts who is still increasing $….interesting week ahead

  28. Scored 2,155, Titch captain. I have dropped from ranking of 246 after round 5 to 1,294.
Guys like selwood (3 rd average 82) and Howe (74) have gone from handy POD’s in first 5 rounds to coachkillers last 3 weeks. Not to mention Pendles, Fyfe, Shaw and Dahl all being down on their normal form.
Plus I had newman on bench scoring 150, I was going to loophole him if Williamson scored ok but he only scored 38 so Had Tom Stewart on field scoring 48 instead.

Yet another round with under performing premos =.=, Newman onfield was great for me was loopholing Berry :), Need to move on Hampton & Butler with either one down one up if i can get a decent premo in or Double down and Upgrade someone else next week ๐Ÿ™‚

    Studs:
    NEWMANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
    Laird
    Adams
    Heeney
    Nank’s last 60 odd point quarter ๐Ÿ™‚

    Duds:
    Under performing premos…
JJ (Probably on my never again list can’t catch a break with him and his second half fadeouts..)
    Pendels
    Selwood
    Grundy (40+ Hitouts with 20 touches 83???)
Dahl (Why give Webb mid time and Dahl forward??)
    Buddy on debut :/
Treloar being injured with Fisher’s 39 to take his spot
    Other rooks..

  30. 2291/Newman (yes, Newman!!)

It’s not often the SC gods smile upon lowly supercoaches, but boy did they heap a ****load of goodness upon me!

With the gf and the whole mothers day thing, I did not get much supercoach time on the weekend. Having chosen Newman to loohole Danger’s VC for safety, I decided to captain stern dicka instead just in case Newman was a late in. So after making Sandipants emergency, I gleefully forgot to change captains!

I now of course wait for the ****load of anti-goodness to come my way in the coming weeks.

Joelwood, Dollhouse and Hardwick were poor, but can’t really complain, can I? ๐Ÿ˜€

  31. 2119 / Titch / 3960 (-1062)

Thank god I got my captain right after Bont did badly as VC. But so may under-performers added up a a blah score. Cup not looking good, but I at least managed 6/10 wins in league matches.

Had Newman on the bench. Much better than not having him, but that alone cost me some wins. Bringing in JJK was fine.

I am sad but amused that I got 6 extra points from the Parsons / Hardwick loophole.
