Written by Schwarzwalder on June 30 2019

Sooooooo…….who jumped on Lycett and Marshall before they hit $600k+?  (THIS GUY!)

Was Rd15 kind to your SuperCoach team? How did you end up?

  1. 2330 / Fyfe / 5000 TBA

Decent contributions by all involved however frustrated with the output of 2 of my newest team members in H Andrews and L Ryan.

    Argh absolutely terrible round.
Duds: Gawn as captain, Smith, Lloyd, Gray, Logue, Clarke, Ryan…. the list goes on
    How far will I fall?

Gawn and Cripps hurt. Can’t wait to get those trades going.

How about those Bluebaggers by the way?

Some hits, some misses. Fyfe going backwards for the last quarter and a half in that game and ryan was my lowest, but until this morning i had the c on gawn!
Special mention to stack who was my fill in with cripps out

    Captain choices. Hmmmm….
Could’ve been a great Sunday & score all round with Fyfe, Neale & Marshall, but Big Max’s ankle put paid to that.
Sloane & ROB, Z Williams & McRae were other notable heroes.

  7. 2266, Grundy VC, was 3200 ish.

Another great example this week of taking that VC score when it’s decent.

Regretting not bringing in Lycett, but would have traded ROB for him, and if Gawn misses will need to use ROB anyway.

Hopefully don’t go down too far in rankings…

Expecting to go down in rank.

Very dissapointed with my captain, tried to loophole Grundy but everyone was locked (bugger).

hopefully have the funds for a double upgrade is week.

Was thinking that was an ok score as I was projected for over 2500, but with 5/5 wins thinking it’s above par.

Happy with that considering a lot of promos in the 80’s (Gaff, Danger, Laird, Sicily) or less Gawn & Billings.
Only fielded 21 after Naish wasn’t named.

My SCT Tech team has come in on fire this week! An absolutely massive score because of no Gawn/Lloyd but still had to deal with Cripps.

For my actual team that is a horror show with a 2178 because of C Gawn as couldn’t loophole Grundy due to rookie error.

Really tempting to ditch the main team and make the Tech team the main team for me……

  12. 2388/Macrae/5731 still in lock-out

Seemingly a good score this round. Had to absorb the same bum scores many coaches copped this week; Danger, Sicily, Gawn, Houli and Ryan. Also had to cover Cripps with D. Clarke. Big ones from Cunnington, Neale, Marshall and Fyfe helped remedy the aforementioned scores.

Happy overall, will update my rank when we’re out of lock-out.

  13. 2426 / Grundy / Flogs like Ryan, Danger and Lloyd cost me upwards of 4550.

There’ll be some big scores this round. 4600+.

    1. Hopefully. Most have Gawn and Lloyd. Those that have Lycett and Marshall will be the big movers. Especially those that VC’d Lycett … grrr 🙂

  14. 2342 / Macrae / up 62 spots to 472

Captaincy choice was agony this week, but it worked out okay in the end. Lowish scores from PODS Gray and Cameron held me back a bit, but 12 tons anyway. Hopefully Whitfield returns this week, will look to him as a trade target after his first game back.

    1. Will be doing something similar Chillo, not happy with Andrews ,he may have to make way for Whitfield, may be able to get both him and Gawn after all.

All thanks to the great SCT community for convincing me to switch gawn to fyfe with all the stats up from previous encounters!

I haven’t had much to crow about this year, but can’t complain this week.

      2554 / Fyfe / 3947

Was ranked at 24k just four weeks ago, been a big month, having brought in Dunkley, Marshall, Sloane and Lycett………

Really happy with that score Gawn struggled after the injury but most sides had the same issue.

Usually I Would have locked in my Grundy VC score, but I needed to match my league opponent C to de-risk the win.

V happy to finally have a good one.
Great debut from Lycett (thanks SCTers) and no more Rocky. Relieved 😉
Brilliant premos, especially the above and Marshall. Lloyd, Gawn and Danger disappointed, but I think most had that problem.
Well done those with huge scores.

Especially Schwarz. I know I’ve already said it, but nobody deserves it more mate. Tireless effort running the best SC site bar none. Hoping you and NüdelSuppe (sp.) can run home strong.

  20. 2246/ N Fyfe/ 3773 (from 3567)

Lots of below par premium scores in conjunction with fielding 4 rookies (Duursma, Hore, Hind and Setterfield) due to Hoff’s omission and Cripps’s injury.

    8 below 80 consisting of premiums such as H Andrews, R Gray, J Lloyd, M Gawn with 7 120+’s (R Sloane, T Kelly, L Neale, N Fyfe, B Grundy, Z Williams and J Macrae).

Hopefully can regain the services of P Cripps who I finally grabbed in Rd12 which should help for a return to form in Rd16 with hopefully Gawn (selected him last week for Goldy), Danger and Daniel avoiding significant injuries, S Hurn to replace X Duursma and J Westhoff returning to push W Setterfield back to the bench.

    1. What a contest Sal?!
Humdinger. Up down up down and finally … up!
Brilliant call with Lycett. Thinking Aliir next week if he’s going to have rucking duties for a while?! Just putting it out there! 😉

      1. Thanks, and congratulations on the well-deserved win!

I don’t have room in my team for Allir Aliir, but it could work out very nicely indeed for anyone who is willing to take a punt on him.

  21. Have 320 k in bank and can go Williams for Duursma and Neale/ Sloane for Stack. Good trades yes or no. ?

Please comment on choosing Neale or Sloane. ? Who is best for the remaining 8 weeks.

Makes me full premo in back line, 1 premo needed in mids and 7 trades left.

    1. Depending on who else you have/don’t have in your MIDs, you may likely want both over the next couple of weeks. Both good choices. I’d go with the lower BE first, unless you have someone else in mind for your last spot?
If you do, I’d probably get Neale. Just.

      1. hi allsaints, my current mids are:
Fyfe, Bont, MCrouch,McCrae, Cripps, Oliver. I agree about getting both, I can get Neale first I think then Sloane later with a paint the fence

    2. Both solid mid picks. You could probably flip a coin.

With regards to Williams, he has been doing very well, but will he keep it up when Whitfield is back in a week or two?

I’m sure someone will have looked at the numbers of Williams with vs without Whitfield. Can anyone shed any light?

An average year just turned worse with Captain Gawn losing me potentially 200+ points.

    0

    1. Sorry to hear about Gawn, but I don’t see how he could have cost you 200+.
      Gawn C – 92 + 165 (top score for the round) = 257.
      Or
      Gawn 46 + 330 captain = 376.

Absolute worst case, it’s 120 points.

      1

      1
      1. I think what Fozza means is that if Gawn had hit his projected score of 140 odd, that would’ve equated to an extra 200 points for a captain.

Downgrade Setters to Chol to free up money on an eventual Logue upgrade or hold fire? 7 trades left, 10k in bank..

  24. 2341 Fyfe C, up to rank 6053. Managed to turn things around after being ranked 44K after round 7. Some pretty poor captain choices early on.

Who would of thought Rowan Marshall would average 108? To be honest I’m not even sure I know what he looks like, don’t seem to watch the saints games.
Is he playing solo ruck or something?
Envious of those who have him.

Solid week, could of been worse, could of been better, I jumped up 2 spots overall this week

  28. 2238/Gawn/7k

somehow managed to win 3/3 leagues and climb 46 places with a pretty ordinary score – actually took the C off Fyfe and put it on big Maxy Sunday morning – after being too greedy and not taking Grundy’s v/c score…one of those coulda, shoulda, woulda decisions ah well

Williams, Macrae, Fyfe, Neale, Oliver, Cogs, Grundy, Dunks, Boak, Heeney and Marshall went ton up with Crisp almost there

Lloyd, Houli, Laird, Weller, Zerret, Walsh, Gawn, Danger and Daniel were down along with Hind

8 trades left and see what happens this week with Cripps and Gawn, otherwise only Walsh left to upgrade once Hind, Hately or Bewley fatten some more

  29. 2,376 / danger / 2129

Was initially disappointed that I picked danger after having jelly vc. Ended up good as Gawn was my other choice. My score was ok with Cripps out (Clarke emergency), danger captain and Gawn in my side. Slowly clawing my way back up the rankings after not planning at all for the byes and having a terrible score in the middle bye round. 8 trades left and one upgrade to go, hoping to turn Logue into Whitfield
