How Did You Go – Rd8

Written by Schwarzwalder on May 12 2019

Oliver re-paid the faith this week and, just like that, is averaging 109pts per game 😉  Cripps, Macrae, Treloar, Grundy & Gawn all tonned up.  Did that help your team?  What score did you end up on?  Was it a good supercoach weekend for you?

Oliver finally, Dunks repaying me last 2 weeks

Think that’s just above par so hoping to get in top 1K

All uphill after Heeney. Dodged a lot of bullets and grabbed fyfe and mcrae over last couple of weeks. Hoping to go up the ranks a bit

  3. 2219/Macrae/7723 still in lockout

Finished the round nicely with big scores from Fyfe and Bolton. Surprised I hit 2200+ with subpar scores from Heeney, Crouch, Darling, Steele and Lloyd.

Will I go up (T.U) or down (T.D) in the rankings?

  4. 2215/Gawn/Was 901st

The likes of Macrae, Dunkley and T Kelly stepping up has saved me from what otherwise seemed like an average week of scores.

  5. 2255/Zerrett

Quite happy for a change, despite Whitfield & Menegola on the bench & the arrows of Scrimshaw & Z Williams mid game injuries.
Big thumbs up to the heavy hitters this week, Oliver, T Kelly, Sloane, Fyfe & Zerrett.

Felt I have produced a low score this week after having Ross and Parker on the field scoring 25 and 15. Then other injuries causing other low scores. Oliver gave it a lift but still not the greatest full score

Studs: Oliver Grundy Constable Hore Zerrett and Dunkley
These lot produce ripper scores for their price. Dunkley has finally gotten his chance back into a midfield role so hope he can keep it there. Faith in Oliver finally does something but due to form I didn’t have the faith to Captain him as Gaff went 154 last week against GC

Spuds: Lloyd Parker Drew Ross Heeney Williams Atkins.
Ross and Atkins had injuries so they should be here but maybe I should add Fyfe for injuring Ross. Atkins was on the bench but after such a great score he failed to break his 18 BE.
Parker did basically the same but actually played the full game. Lloyd is about to go to his 90 average as he is joined my team finally after not being in it last year. Heeney carrying an injury just sucks and if I realised it RD1 he wouldn’t be here. Finally Williams is unfortunately due to 2 knocks in his game. Hoping when Whitfield is back he is still in decent form and capable of scoring tonnes.

4/10 wins this week, not looking promising

    1. Ffs just checked the Tech team and had that scored 2173. Outscored my actual team 2 weeks in a row now…….
Also that 2173 was scored with 21 players as Menegola was a late out

    2. Back again, but out of all of this i have positive news, I am leading my SCT Cup tie!!! It must be a sign!

  7. 2370/fyfe.

Was happy with dunkley on debut (a source has confirmed he’s playing more mid). Also good to see Clayton break out of his little slump. Brayshaw and heeney continue to struggle but will continue to push through until they hopefully turn it around (or I run out of rooks to upgrade!)

  8. 2363 / Macrae / was 2900

Zerrett, Dunkley, Macrae, TK, Oliver, Grundy, Fyfe, Sloane the hero’s. Matt Crouch, Worpel and Heeney the let downs.

Traded Walsh to Fyfe, which looks ok at the moment. Hoping Fyfe doesn’t cop a week for that elbow.

      1. Thanks mate, just wish my Tech Team wasn’t such a shambles. Only needed 110 between Ross and Nank today…

  9. 2332 / Fyfe / Approx 4000

Some nice trades and on field decisions went my way. Ie Drew > Kelly and playing Constable over Ross.

Rocky, Oliver, Kelly, Grundy, Cripps, Zerrett and Fyfe all pushed the pleasure buttons.

Danger, Heeney, Lloyd, Libba and a non existent Whitfield not so much.

  10. 2092/Macrae/10.3k
Pretty average considering some huge scores from the likes of Kelly, Sloane, Macrae, Fyfe and Crippa.
Injuries to Crouch, Scrim, Ross and P.P. scores from Daniel, Goldi, Lloyd, Heeney, Moore and God punishing me for not trading Libba all contributed to what is likely to send me rocketing down the leaderboard.
Maybe it’s time to say “well, there’s always next year”

  11. 2309/Fyfe. Great score considering I had Ross and Ainsworth on the field instead of clark and stack. Almost an extra 100 points if I had those too.

  12. 2253/Grundy/4000

    Potential rise into top 3k?

Carried an injured Crouch and Parker but besides those two the rest of the team was brilliant.

  13. 2134 / Gawn / 7210

Burnt by M Crouch injury and then Atley on field with Constable on the bench due to me missing his late late inclusion.

  14. 2154/Fyfe / was mid 6500’s
A lot of highs – Macrae, Oliver, Fyfe, Grundy , Cripps, T Kelly
A lot of lows – MCrouch , Fielded Answerth, ( Whitfield on Bench) ,
    Heeney, Steele , Boak.
+ side is I had Constable, Bolton, Lockhart, Clark, Setterfield on bench who will all make $ in next few weeks which can allow me to be aggressive especially with Oliver and Macrae turning corner.

  15. 2167/Fyfe
I was ranked 17K something so hopefully will move up a bit.
    Very eventful round for me.
Last minute decision to take the V off Grundy and put on Cripps.
I put the C on Fyfe.
Due to password issues I didn’t get to put Constable on field instead of Ross just before the start of the match.
I won 7 out of 9 league matches but the above sentence cost me the other 2 league wins.
Managed wins over Father Dougal and All Saints so that was pleasing. I wouldn’t like them to think they have a psychological advantage over me.

  16. 2107 / Cripps / was 1319

Third disappointing week in a row.

It was the usual suspects disappointing again – Heeney, Brayshaw, Steele, Libba, Matt Crouch.

Papley too but I knew he’d yo-yo a bit and he’s been good other weeks.

Only thing saving me from doing worse has been good trades – Tim Kelly, Dunkley and Laird in, Whitfield out the first week (we’ll see if this one bites me).

Hopefully I can stay in touch because I feel like my bye strategy is solid, might make up some ground.

  17. 2207/Fyfe/dropped 7k last week and outside 10k, hope to be back in after this week.

Studs: Lycett, Kelly, Constable, Laird?,clark, Fyfe,Grundy, Cripps, Neale & Oliver( you have been invited to the party the past 8 weeks, great that you finally turned up)

    Spuds: Heeney & Cogs

Pretty happy, even after seeing the above scores. Amazing work cracking 2300 guys.
Happy that I got all rookies correct this week.

  18. 2,313 / Fyfe/ roughly 10,000ish

Had Bolton, Constable and Clark on the bench so could have scored 2,431 if I nailed my rookies. Also carried Heeney.

  20. 2099/Fyfe/ Was Rank 30!! not any more
Oh well it was fun while it lasted, my luck has come to an end.
Was projected to go over 2400 but injury to M Crouch, most rookies having a down week and Boak, Heeney, Lloyd, Moore, Wiiliams, B Smith and Liba all not performing.
    Regroup for next week now.

  21. 2160/Grundy/3490

Guess I’m lucky to have only dropped rank by 107.

STUDS – Macrae, Oliver and T.Kelly.
DUDS – M.Crouch, Heeney, Lloyd and Smith.

Now i gotta start upgrading to try climb up in rank.

  22. 2070 / cripps / 5000ish dropped over 2000
Knew the week would be bad when I accidentally left the C on cripps would have taken Grundy VC for sure, cost me 40 points.
Then didn’t see Constable was a late in and left Ross on for his 15.
New recruit Jezza Cameron let me down BIG time, never go key position but he sucked me in!
    Regroup for next week

  23. 2090/Gawn/38 (down from 6)

Bit of a shocker this week. Any other year I’d be happy with a score of 2000+ but not now that I’ve been sitting up at the giddy heights.
    6 @ 100+ and 10 players sub 80.
Heeney, Moore, Walsh, Libba, Steele, Boak, Lloyd and Crisp all below par.
Captaining Gawn cost me a few points as well. Tim Kelly saved some face for me today.
Also two points behind in my SCT cup clash. Look out JJ – double upgrade coming for me this week.

  24. 2235/Grundy/21,ooo

Coulda been a great score if not for injury affected scores to Mrouch and Ross’ 15. Otherwise no super underperformers, perhaps Heeney, Darling, LLoyd.
STUDS – Oliver, TKelly, Grundy, Dunkley, Fyfe, Constable, Gore

  25. 2243/Cripps/476

Brought in Fyfe for Libba this week but may be bittersweet if he gets rubbed out. Awesome efforts from Oliver, T.kelly, Dunkley with the low point being the injury to M.crouch holding me from getting 2300. Never been ranked in top 500 before!

  26. 2227/ Grundy/ 16764 (from 24821)

Recorded my 2nd highest score of the season as well as my 1st time over 2100 since RD4 so very happy with this week’s performance considering I traded in Answerth for J Clark replacing L Whitfield, sub 50 from the Hoff on debut as well as sub 80 for B Smith, T Goldstein, I Heeney and S Walsh. But great performances fromT Kelly and captain B Grundy combining for 444 points and my midfield quintet of L Neale, C Oliver, R Sloane, N Fyfe and Z Merrett combining for 689 with 4/5 exceeding 125+.

Hopefully will be able to welcome back L Whitfield (replacing N Answerth), will finally gain the services of J Macrae (replacing W Drew) as well as the trio of Goldy, Heeney and the Hoff combining for more than 184 points.

  27. 2133/Grundy/1499th (down 514 places)

Can’t be too disappointed after last week’s trades. Libba>Fyfe and a downgrade was definitely right, but too many premos and midpricers failed this week. Was proj’d 2424 before the Rd started, but it always seems super-inflated to me.

Am more disappointed to have let high-flying Leagues down with some great scores around. Well done all.

Well done to Shaggi, Macca and the other 4 who beat me this week. 4/10 wins, tho not really my focus.

    Bring on Rd9!

  31. First score under 2100 for the year.
Today had danger, menegola, Cameron and Ross combine for 168pts.
Throw in crouch 50. And what started as a promising week just kept spirraling downwards.
    1993/grundy. 13891, down 7,300.
    Oh, well onto next week.

  33. Terrible.

13 players under scoring on there projected scores by 30+

With Atkins, Ross on field scoring 15 & 12

    First score under 2100.

    2005. C- Gawn. Dropped 6,104 places to 11,036.

    Might delete the app.

  34. 2218 Grundy moved to 3411th from 5000 and something.

  35. 2,153 / Macrae/ 5,031 (Up 17)

Ross being hurt and going for 15 hurt a lot. The rest of my bad scores balanced by amazing scores, but that one stopped me from making some decent progress. Lucky to have a small up this week, could have easily gone backwards.

  37. 2169 / Macrae / 14,533

Felt I had a pretty good weekend with my PODs going well and taking Macrae’s VC. Unfortunately copped Ross 15 and Parker’s 25 which really hurt my chances of jumping up higher.

    Cogs is very frustrating!!

    1. 2175 / Grundy / 6621. ( up 1149 )

Some great scores mixed with some real let downs.

Great to see Oliver and Dunkley back to some form.
Also great ,were T Kelly Grundy, Sloane, Cripps, Rocky.
Sicily and Gawn were solid also.

I was bit let down by Answerth covering for Whitfield.
Crouch and Heeney were also pretty bad, but I can at least blame injuries on those scores.

The biggest let down of the weekend, will forever be known as the
      Mothers day lunch tragedy.
In the confusion, I went with Atkins over Constable on field.
That alone cost me 80 points.

It could have been a really good week , Dam it!

I guess I should still be happy, I won 8/10 leagues and moved up in the rankings again.

Now to plan this weeks trades.

looks like it might be Atkins or Ross to Macrea / Lloyd/ Hurn.

      1

      0
      1. I would keep Ross. Has the Rd14 bye and once his injury-effected score runs its course, he should make heaps in time for his bye. Another $90k + and may even provide decent bench cover for an injured/suspended premo in the meantime.
What his injury does help with, is staggering our trades!

        1. Cheers allsaints, and Gunboat.

Just logged on after work, I haven’t looked too much into who to upgrade this week.

I will check Cow talk and the injury reports before I make a final decision.

Now to find a fallen premo that suits my structure. 🙂

          1

      2. Solid score considering you were down a premo, plus the Atkins-Constable debacle. Good stuff, FT.

  38. 2243/Grundy/3648

Climbing the ranks every week as i was 33k 4 weeks ago good to be in top 3k haha. Fyfe on debut was nice but if he gets rubbed out it won’t be nice. Nice to see the messiah Balta score good and making that mula. Cogs doing amazing again hasn’t been seen since round 1 so filthy i started him over Neale.

    Studs:
    Cripps
    Fyfe
Oliver (Finallllllllyyyyyyy Cogs now your turn mate)
    Constable
    Grundy
    Kelly
    Balta

    Duds:
    B.Smith
    LLoyd
    M.Crouch
    Cogs
    Boak
    Daniel

Haven’t decided trades this week but two of the following are gone Scrimshaw, Atkins, Ross, Walsh

    2

    0
    1. Nice score mate. And nice bounce back after a slow start. I have 3 of those 4, got rid of Atkins before his 90. I thought he was due for culling then and I was wrong. But he is ready now. Scrimshaw also ready I reckon. FD’s cow talk should provide further insight.
I’ll be holding the other two though. I traded Kelly too early last year after 1 or 2 bad games. He dropped in value a little and then bounced back and remade the cash he lost. I see Walsh doing the same. Even if he does not return to a 100avg, he just needs a 90avg to not drop in value. Plus if you’re still playing a rookie on field his 90 is better than someone else’s 70.
As for Ross, check AllSaints reply about 3 comments up. I’m holding for that reason
